Objective To observe the effects of stone needle on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in acute exacerbation period (AECOPD). Methods One hundred and forty five cases of AECOPD were randomly divided into three groups. Patients in combined treatment group (n =49) received that stone needle hot compresses the back and Chinese herbal medicine besides routine treatment. Patients in Chinese herbal medicine group (n =48) received Chinese herbal medicine besides routine treatment. Patients in placebo group (n =48) received routine treatment. Results The effective rate of combined treatment group was 89.80%,and that of Chinese herbal medicine group was 85.42%,which were all significantly higher than which in placebo group (72.92%,P

Event-related potentials (ERP) is some kind of brain potentials that recorded from cranial surface when human cognitive processing an object(pay attention, memorize, thinking, etc). ERP consists of a variety of cognitive function and related components. Including early composition, mismatch negativity (MMN), N2 family, P3 family, and other related components of language processing. These components are closely related to human cognitive function, the research of ERP can lead to a deeper understanding of cognitive function of human brains and has important application value of forensic medicine.

The event-related potential (ERP) is considered as one of the most effective methods to study and analyze objectively human mental activity based on nerve electrophysiology. At present, ERP is not only used in the study of lie detection, but also in the clinical medicine for the cognitive assess-ment on patients with cerebrovascular disease, dementia or traumatic brain injury and auxiliary diagnosis of mental illness. with the further development of ERP detection technology, it would have a wider ap-plication prospect in the field of forensic medicine.
4.Preparation of complex chitosan microcapsule and its application in controlled release of vitamin D2.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2003;20(1):26-29
In this work a system which consists of chitosan (CS) microcores entrapped within enteric polymer is presented. Vitamin D2, used as a model drug, was efficiently entrapped within CS microcores using spray-drying and then microencapsulated into ethylic cellulose(EC). The morphology and release properties of microcapsules were tested. The influential factors of preparation conditions included molecular weight of chitosan, concentration of chitosan solution, concentration of acetic acid, loading of vitamin D2 were discussed. The results of in vitro release studies showed that the microcapsules prepared in this article could realize sustained release in intestine.

Subthreshold depression belongs to the category of psychological sub-health.Because it does not meet the diagnostic criteria of depression,it may cause misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis, excessive medical treatment, violation of patient autonomy, poor effect or unclear adverse reactions. The ethical problems in clin-ical diagnosis and treatment are worthy of attention. This article aimed to explore the ethical issues that may exist in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of subthreshold depression,a sub-depression state, and propose so-lutions.

Objective To compare the difference between four-axis positioning 3D printing guide assisted puncture and manual puncture percutaneous vertebroplasty,to clarify the clinical efficacy of 3D printing guide assisted percutaneous vertebroplasty, and to explore its clinical application value. Methods A total of 70 patients who underwent single-segment vertebroplasty for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures in our hospital were randomly divided into a manual group(control group)and a guide plate group(observation group).Thirty-five patients in the control group underwent PVP under the traditional manual puncture, and 35 patients in the observa-tion group underwent PVP under the four-axis positioning 3D printing guide assisted puncture. The general data, perioperative data, imaging data, preoperative and postoperative functional scores of the two groups were collected and compared. Results In terms of intraoperative fluoroscopy times, operation time, and postoperative adverse reactions, the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups in intraoperative blood loss, bone cement leakage, and whether bone cement perfusion included fracture sites. In terms of clinical efficacy, the ratio of anterior vertebral height, postoperative VAS score and postoperative JOA score of the two groups were significantly better than those before operation, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the same time point before and after operation, there was no significant difference in the height ratio of the anterior edge of the injured vertebra,VAS score and JOA score between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of four-axis positioning 3D printing guide plate-assisted puncture is the same as that of experienced clinicians with free hand puncture for PVP,which can quickly relieve pain and improve dysfunction. However, guide plate assistance can shorten the operation time, reduce the number of fluoroscopy and postoperative adverse reactions, and make vertebroplasty faster and safer.

Interferon beta (IFN-beta) and TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) are effective anticancer agents. Adeno-associated virus (AAV) is one of the current most promising gene delivery vectors. Previously, we constructed tumor-targeting AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta and AAV-hTERT-TRAIL by inserting IFN-beta or TRAIL gene into AAV controlled by hTERT promoter. The studies showed that either single IFN-beta or TRAIL gene therapy exhibited a certain extent anticancer effect. Here, we report their inhibitory effects on A549 lung cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo by combined AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta and AAV-hTERT-TRAIL. Expression of secreted IFN-beta in lung cancer A549 cells infected by AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The growth-suppressing effect of AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta in combination with AAV-hTERT-TRAIL on several cancer cell lines was assessed by MTT assay. Apoptosis of A549 cancer cells infected by AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta alone, AAV-hTERT-TRAIL alone, and their combination was evaluated by apoptotic cell staining and flow cytometry (FCM), respectively. The antitumor effect of the combination of AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta with AAV-hTERT-TRAIL in vivo was further evaluated through A549 lung cancer xenograft in nude mice. The results showed that the combinational treatment was superior to any alone and presented intensified tumor cytotoxic and apoptotic effect on A549 cancer cells. Most importantly, the combination of AAV-hTERT-IFN-beta with AAV-hTERT-TRAIL exhibited significant antitumor effect and eliminated all tumor masses in nude mice, which lay a foundation for exploring the molecular mechanisms of combined IFN-beta and TRAIL anti-tumor activity.
