1.Acute application of ApoE4 increases the neuronal resting [Ca~(2+)] i in rat cortex
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2010;30(1):71-74
Objective To investigate the acute effect of apolipoprotein E(apoE)on the intracellular free Ca~(2+) of rat cortical neurons. Methods The intracellular resting calcium level in cultured primary rat cortical neurons was measured by using confocal fluorescent imaging technique. MK-801, an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor noncom-petitive antagonist, was employed to test potential function of apoE4 through blocking NMDN receptor. Results Acute application of apoE4, but not apoE3, significantly increased the resting [Ca~(2+)] i in a dose-and time-dependent manner (P <0. 01 or P <0. 05) , and MK-801 partly blocked the apoE4-induced elevation of resting [Ca~(2+)]i (P <0. 05 or P <0. 01). Conclusion Acute administration of ApoE4 disturbs calcium homeostasis, and the activation of NMDA receptor may play a critical role in the intracellular calcium overload induced by apoE4 and neurotoxicity.

Objective: To study the bonding interface characteristic of five wet bonding systems while bonding on different dentin bonding surfaces. Methods: Rhodamine B was used to label five adhesives(OptiBond Sol o,Single Bond,Gluma One-Bond,Bond-1 and One-Step) in consistency of 0.1%, an d the bonding interface of the 5 wet bonding systems on dry or wet dentin surfa ces was observed with laser scanning confocal microscope. Results: All five bonding systems could infiltrate well into dentin bonding interface when bonding on wet dentin surface. The fluorescence confocal images gave eviden ce of the adhesives penetrated into the widened tubules, lateral tubules and dem ineralized peritubular dentin. Little discontinuity in dentin tubular was observ ed in the images, especially in those of alcohol-water-based adhesives. When b onded in dry dentin surface, the hybrid thickness of acetone-based adhesives de creased significantly. Conclusion: The penetration ability of ad hesives may be reduced significantly on dry dentin surface.

Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2017;26(1):24-27
Marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) accounts for approximately 10 % of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). It can be divided into three specific entities:extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma), nodal marginal zone lymphoma (NMZL) and splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL). MALT lymphoma is the most frequent overall, representing 7.5 % of all NHLs. Reports on research progress of MZL in the 58th American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting covered multiple respects which ranged from basic research to clinical prognosis and treatment. Based on the technology such as flow cytometry, cytogenetics and FISH, further study on pathogenesis of MZL is developing, and new prognostic index system can help to stratify patients more exactly and give a guidance to treatment. What's more, the change of therapy and new drugs will benefit to the clinical efficacy and safety of MZL patients.

Objective To observe the effect of Jingui Shenqi Wan (JSW) on the content of calcium channel protein CaV1.3 of guinea pigs with ototoxic deafness induced by gentamicin (GM). Methods Forty healthy guinea pigs were randomly divided into normal group, model group and high-, middle-, and low-dose JSW treatment groups. The model group was given intramuscular injection of GM ( 120 mg/kg) per day for 10 continuous days. The high-, middle-, and low-dose JSW treatment groups were given intramuscular injection of GM (120 mg/kg) and intragastric administration of JSW in the dosage of 20.3, 13.5, 6.08 g·kg-1·d-1 respectively per day for 10 days. Immuno histochemistry was used to detect the mean optical density value of CaV1.3 expression in cochlear hair cells. Results There were significant differences of the optical density value of CaV1.3 in cochlear hair cells between the model group and normal group (P<0.01), and between the model group and high-dose JSW treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusion JSW has certain effect on preventing and treating guinea pig with ototoxic deafness induced by GM, thus to protect the hearing function.

Objective To observe inhibition rate of mouse mammary adenocarcinoma(EMT6) and inhibition effect on tumor angiogenesis of Panax notoginseng F.H. Chen and Cordyecps sinensis Sacc. powder. Methods BALB/C mice as bearing cancer animals with subcultured mouse-transplantable EMT6 cell train had accepted intervention treatment by Panax notoginseng F.H. Chen and Cordyceps sinensis Sacc. powder. In this way, inhibition rate of the mouse-transplanted EMT6 by the powder was recorded and the expression of microvessel density(MVD),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2(TIMP-2) in the tumor tissue after paraffin imbedding and section were detected through immunohistochemistry technique. Results The tumor inhibition rates of two designed dose groups were separately 48.95% and 37.64%. MVD and VEGF expressions of tumor tissue in the two group were significantly suppressed while the TIMP-2 expression increased. Conclusions Panax notoginseng F.H.Chen and Cordyceps sinensis Sacc. powder can restrain the growth of EMT6,and the pathway of this function is likely related to inhibiting tumor angiogenesis.
