[Objective] To screen the anticancer fraction from extract of root of Adina rubella Hance.[Methods]To separate the water extract from root of Adina rubella Hance by different solvens,then determine their anticancer activities of the different extracts in vitro with MTT method.[Results]The ethylacetate extract strongly inhibited cell proliferation of LS174T,and showed significant dosage-dependent response while the butanol extract and the chloroform extract showed low anticancer activities in vitro.[Conclusion]The ethylacetate extract is the principal anticancer extract from root of Adina rubella Hance.

OBJECTIVE:To approach the correlations of carbamazepine concentration in serum with clinical therapeutic effect,dosage,sex,age and body weight in epileptic children.METHODS:158 monitoring records for serum concentration of carbamazepine in children with epilepsy in our clinical pharmacy department were consulted retrospectively.Data such as serum concentration,sex and age were recorded into data base and were analyzed using SPSS 13.0 software.RESULTS:No significant correlation was noted between serum concentration of carbamazepine in epileptic children and sex.However,serum concentration of carbamazepine was closely correlated with clinical therapeutic effect,dosage,age and body weight.CONCLUSION:The individual difference in the metabolic processes of carbamazepine was concerned with age and body weight,so it's necessary to make individualized regime according to child's specific condition and monitoring results.

Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) is a key regulator of developmental processes. A FGF homolog (vFGF) is found in all lepidopteran baculoviruses. Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) and Bombyx mori NPV (BmNPV) vFGFs are chemotactic factors. Here we analyzed the vfgf of Helicoverpa armigera NPV (HearNPV), a group Ⅱ NPV. The HearNPV vfgftranscripts were detected from 18 to 96 h post-infection (hpi) of Hz-AMI cells with HearNPV and encoded a 36 kDa protein, which was secreted into the culture medium. HearNPV vFGF had strong affinity to heparin, a property important for FGF signaling via an FGF receptor. Unlike its AcMNPV homolog, HearNPV vFGF specially chemoattracted Hz-AM 1, but not other insect cells such as Sf9 and Se-UCR and not the mammalian cells 293 and HepG2. HearNPV vFGF is also associated with the envelope of BV but is absent in occlusion-derived virus, which coordinated to the chemotatic activity analysis.

Baculoviruses produce two viral phenotypes, the budded virus (BV) and the occlusion-derived virus (ODV). ODVs are released from occlusion bodies in the midgut where they initiate a primary infection. Due to the lack of an in vitro system, the molecular mechanism of ODV infection is still unclear. Here we present data demonstrating that Helicoverpa armigera nucleopolyhedrovirus (HearNPV) ODV infected cultured Hz-AM1 cells in a pH dependent manner. The optimal pH for ODV infection was 8.5, which is same to that in the microvilli of midgut epithelial cells, the ODV native infection sites. Antibodies neutralization analysis indicated that four HearNPV oral infection essential genes p74, pif-1, pif-2 and pif-3 are also essential for HearNPV ODV infection in vitro. Thus, HearNPV-HzAM1 system can be used to analyze the mechanism of ODV entry.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the irrational use of the infused drugs in our out-patient clinic.METHODS: In this retrospective study,the infusion prescriptions in our outpatient clinic from 2005 to 2007 were randomly selected for a statistical analysis of the irrational ones based on our knowledge on clinical pharmacology and literature.RESULTS: The problems manifested by the total 81 172 prescriptions were unsuitable solvent,improper dosage regimen,irrational drug combination and repeated drug of medicines etc.CONCLUSION: The use of infused antibiotics in our out-patient clinic were rational on the whole,however,there were some problems which remain to be solved and improved.

OBJECTIVE:To enhance the function of the hospital drug control room(DCR)laboratory. METHODS: The status quo and the chief work carried out there of DCR were analyzed comprehensively. RESULTS: The function of the DCR has gradually extended from quality control of self-made drugs to the monitoring on hospital drug quality and solving of the problems encountered in clinical practice. CONCLUSIONS: The function of the DCR should be enhanced further to shift its focus from drug-centered to patient-centered so as to enhance hospital medical service level and promote rational drug use.

OBJECTIVE:To probe into the pediatric drug counseling service and the characteristics of adverse drug reactions (ADR). METHODS:The telephone records of drug consultation from Feb. 2006 to Apr. 2008 in our hospital were statistically analyzed and the problems related to adverse drug reactions were classified. RESULTS:Among the 542 cases of drug consulting telephone records,the top 3 consulting questions were the usage and dosage of drugs (29.15%),recommendation and choice of drugs (13.28%) and drug interactions (10.52%). Of which,41 cases of ADR problems were about the use of antibacterials and Chinese traditional patent drugs. The most common manifestation of ADR was the lesion of digestive system. CONCLUSION:Drug consulting telephone service can not only enhance children patients' medication compliance and promote rational use of drugs but also improve the learning of clinical pharmacists.

OBJECTIVE:To study the influence of reduced glutathione(GSH) on serum liver fibrosis index and cytokines in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB) . METHODS:96 patients with CHB were randomly divided into the treatment group(treated with GSH) and control group. The serum levels of TGF-?1,TNF-?,hyaline acid(HA) ,type Ⅳcollagen(C-Ⅳ) ,laminin(LN) ,Alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and Aspartate Aminotransferase(AST) were measured by specific-ELISA and RIA assay before and after treatment. OBJECTIVE: To establish an HPLC method for the determination of the concentration of vancomycin in human serum. METHODS: Serum samples were centrifuged after serum protein was precipitated by 20% metaphosphoric acid. The separation was performed on Hypersil C18 column with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.012 5 mol?L-1 potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer (10 ∶ 90) at flow rate of 0.8 mL?min-1. The detection wavelength was set at 236 nm and column temperature was set at 25 ℃. RESULTS: The average relative recovery rate of vancomycin in low, medium and high concentrations (2.5,30.8,150.4 mg?L-1) were 99.8%, 101.1% and 98.9% respectively. The inter-day and intra-day RSD were less than 2.5%(n=5). The limit detection of vancomycin in serum was 2.0 mg?L-1. The linear range was within 2.0～170.0 mg?L-1(r=0.999 8). CONCLUSION: The method is simple, accurate, and rapid for the monitoring and phamacokinetic studies of vancomycin in human serum.
