1.POSTOPERATIVE PULMOMNARY EMBOLISM: ITS DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
14 cases of postoperative pulmonary embolism were reported. The incidence of this postoperative complication was 0.47‰ during a 5-year period. The main source of embolus was ileo-fomoral venous thrombosis (confirmed in 9 cases). 10 patients died of this complication, autopsy in 6 of them revealed the embolism occurred in a main pulmonary artery on one or both sides. With a review of recent literatures, the authors discussed the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this fatal complication, and pointed out the diagnostic value of a comprohensive study of clinical manifestations, arterial blood gas analysis, EKG and plain chest film findings. A more aggressive attitude towards the acceptance of pulmonary embolectomy was suggested in those patients who failed to respond rapidly to medical managment.

BACKGROUND: One of the basic functions of bone is its adaptation to mechanical loading environment. Bone cells are the mechanosensitive cells in bone tissue. However, the mechanisms by which mechanical signals are transduced to chemical signals that influence bone growth and metabolism remain unidentified.OBJECTIVE: To understand the mechanotransduction pathways in osteoblasts and osteocytes, and to provide a theoretical basis for further study. METHODS: PubMed database was retrieved by computer with key words of osteoblast, osteocyte, bone cells, mechanical stress. According to inclusion criteria, 69 articles were included to summarize the transduction of mechanical signals of bone cells. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: One of the basic functions of bone is its adaptation to mechanical loading environment. Bone cells are mechanosensitive cells. However, how the transduction of mechanical signals of cells realizes and how regulates skeleton remain poorly understood. Studies confirmed that due to the construction features and cell location of skeleton, osteoblasts and osteocytes are the most important mechanosensitive cells in bone tissue. The process of mechanotransduction can be divided into four distinct steps: ① mechanocoupling; ② biochemical coupling; ③ signal transmission; ④ effector response of bone cells. Through these four steps, the loads acting on the bones are transduced into biochemical signals, and then change the function of bone cells, finally induce the changes of bone structures to adapt the mechanical environment. The regulatory mechanisms of mechanical signals in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells require further investigation.

0.05); ⑵Serum TNF? and IL-6 levels in kansui root group were significantly lower than those in control group at the third, 7th and 14th days after treatment(P0.05). Conclusion ⑴kansui root therapy was effective for SAP, ⑵kansui root therapy ameliorated SAP possibly by decreasing the levels of serum TNF? and IL-6, ⑶kansui root therapy improved microcirculation of pancreas possibly by decreasing the ratio of TXA 2/PGI 2, and ⑷kansui root treating SAP may be multi-pathway and multi-target.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(06):-
Forty - six cases of VD were equally and randomly divided into 2 groups, the electric - acupuncture group (EA) and acupuncture group (A). Changes in scoring value of HDS, FAQ. CCSE; contents of SOD. LPO. GSH -Px. bloodlipids and NO and changes in EEG. TCD were observed before and after treatment. The effective rate, total ameliorated and effective rates were 52. 2%, 87. 0% respectively in the AE group; higher than those in the Agroup of 13. 0%. 47. 8% respectively (P 0. 05), indicating that EA treatment is superior to regular acupuncture treatment for VD and exerts marked convalescent actions on patients mental ability.

Objective To explore the treatment effects of low molecular weight heparine (LMWH) on severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods Random analysis were made on the clinical features and therapeutic effect on the control treatment group (CT) in 65 cases and LMWH treatment group (LT) in 77 cases. Results 70(90 9%) cases were cured in LT group, and 48(73 8%) cases were cured in CT group. The incidence of complications in the LT group (28 6%, 22patients 45 times) was significantly lower than that in the CT group (60%,39patients 79 times)(P

The content of total alkaloid in the seed of Peganum harmala L. was determined by bro-mophenol blue colorimetry. It could be considered that this is a specific, quick and simple method for thedetermination of total alkaloid in the seed of P. harmala.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 1992;0(01):-
Objective To observe the apoptosis of neuron and protein kinase B (Akt) expression after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH)in rats, and investigate the interference effect and mechanism of ?-aeacine sodium on ICH injury. Methods All Sprague - Dawley male rats were randomly divided into normal group, pseudo -operation group, model group and therapeutic group treated with ?-sodium aeacine. The latter three groups were divided into five subgroups respectively :6 h,12h,1d,3d and 7d.ICH models were performed by injection Ⅶ type collagenase into the the right globus pallidus.By the methods of in situ terminaldeoxynucleotidyl transferase- mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and immunohistochemistry, The dynamic changes of apoptosis and the expression of AKt protein were observed in the damaged cortex. Results TUNEL-positive cells appeared at 6h after collagenase injection in the model group and the expression of AKt increased at 12 h.They reached their peak at 3rd day, and were still present during 1 week. The numbers of TUNEL-positive cells in 1 d, 3 d, 1 week after ICH decreased markerly in treatment group than those of in model group ( P

Objective To set up the Parkinson's disease(PD)rat model with pathologic characteristic of Lewy body in nigral cells. Methods SD rats were injected respectively with 8 mg Lactacystin(Lactacystin group),sodium saline(NS group)and 12 mg 6-OHDA(6-OHDA group)by stereotaxic unilateral injection into the pars compacta of substantia nigral. The spontaneous and apomorphine-induced contralateral behaviors of rats were observed. The changes of midbrain histology were viewed by microscope;expression of ?-synuclein and tyrosine hydroxylase(TH)positive cells were investigated by immunohistochemistry. The contents of dopamine and homovanillic acid in striatum were determined. Results Rats of NS group did not display abnormal behavior. The animals treated with Lactacystin developed progressively bradykinesia, hypokinesia, tremor, contralateral head tilting, and displayed apomorphine-induced contralateral rotation behavior;3 weeks later the number of TH positive cells were decreased by 83.29% compared with NS group(P

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(03):-
Objective To explore the clonality of the T cells and the role of cellular immunological pathogenesis in chronic asymptomatic HBV carriers (AsC) by TCR CDR3 size spectratyping and determining sequence. Methods The TCR CDR3 region genes of 24 BV families were amplified by utilizing inverse polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology, and the CDR3 size lengths of T cell receptor (TCR) ?-chain were analyzed with Genescan technology for 4 healthy individuals and 9 AsCs. The clonality of T cells presumed by spectratyping was further confirmed by CDR3 sequencing. Results The CDR3 repertoire of 4 healthy individuals showed Gaussian distribution. The clonal expansions of T cell were observed in 8 out of 9 AsCs. The expanded T cells have different CDR3 sequences. Conclusion There is significantly clonal expansion in the compartment of the peripheral blood T lymphocyte in AsCs. The expanded T cells do not have homogenicity.
