OBJECTIVETo assess the association between polymorphism of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene C677T locus and nonsyndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (NSCL/P) in Shanxi Province of China.
METHODSBlood samples from 150 patients and their parents and 150 controls and their mothers were collected. The polymorphism of MTHFR gene C677T locus were analyzed by the methods of polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism technique(PCR-RFLP). Case-control analysis, transmission-disequilibrium test(TDT) and haplotype-based haplotype relative risk analysis(HHRR) were used to study the correlation between the gene mutation and NSCL/P.
RESULTSHardy-Weinberg equilibrium test results showed that, the offspring and mother genotype in the case group and the control group was not deviated from the Hardy-Weinberg law of genetic equilibrium (P > 0.05). The distribution of genotype CC, CT and TT in offspring had significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). In the offspring and mother of case group and the control group, the carriers of the TT genotype compared to CC genotype, the OR are greater than 1 and 95% CI do not contain 1 (offspring OR: 2.692, 95% CI: 1.319-5.495; mother OR: 2.469, 95% CI: 1.136-5.363). The distribution of C allele and T mutation gene were significantly different in the offspring and mother between the two groups (P < 0.05). The TDT test showed: chi2 = 4.507, P < 0.05. The HHRR test showed: P < 0.05.
CONCLUSIONThe single nucleotide polymorphism of MTHFR C677T locus is associated with the development of NSCL/P in Shanxi Province.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a simple individualized dosage regimen of multiple oral dosing of Theophyllin. METHODS:Based on pharmacokinetic parameters,Excel function was used to design the dosage regimen of multiple oral dosing extravascular administration of one-compartment model with Theophylline as an example. RESULTS:The following parameters such as plasma drug concentration at any time (t) since administration of Theophylline, peak time, maximum steady plasma-drug concentration, minimum steady plasma-drug concentration, accumulation coefficient, fluctuation percentage, fluctuation amplitude, and dosage for children and the old could be obtained and the concentration-time curves were able to be drawn from the input data including physical and pathological parameters, dosage (X0) of Theophylline, interval ?,absorption rate constant (Ka),drug clearance rate (CL),absorption fraction (F) and apparent volume of distribution (Vd). CONCLUSION:The method adopted in our study is simple, reliable and intuitive, and it is applicable for the design of the individualized dosage regimen of Theophyllin.

China Pharmacy 1991;0(04):-
OBJECTIVE:To improve the management on drug supply in our hospital by using the Six sigma method. METHODS: The quality control of the management on drug supply is achieved by practicing the five steps of Six sigma: concept, measurement, analysis, improvement and control. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: Six sigma method did effectively bring down the defect rate of drug supply from 6.66% before the introduction of the method to 0.59% after and raise the degree of satisfaction to the work of medicine provision from 80% before the introduction of the method to 95% after.

China Pharmacy 2005;0(23):-
OBJECTIVE: To implement scientific drug control in inpatient dispensary by means of “Army No.1” system and to establish digitalized drug quality control system. METHODS: The “Army No.1” network system was put into wide operation in our hospital to establish interconnection among doctor workstation, nurse workstation and pharmacy workstation. Hence, the central dispensing mode was established. RESULTS: The operation of Army No.1 system not only relieved the workload of both clinic and pharmacy, increased whose working efficiency and transparency but also reduced overstock and run-off of drugs and enforced drug monitoring; meanwhile it facilitate the carrying out of pharmaceutical care and evaluation of drug utilization. CONCLUSIONS: Central dispensing mode in inpatient dispensary drug control by means of “Army No.1” system is advisable and which deserves generalization.

Objective To investigate the mouse liver blood vessel images using phase contrast X-ray imaging with synchrotron radiation. Methods 6 female C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into two groups, 3 mice in each group. In one group, livers excised after hgated arteries, veins and common bile duct. In another group, iodine infused via the portal vein and drained from inferior vena cave until all the blood in the portal veins and hepatic veins was displaced. After infusion, arteries, veins and common bile duct were ligated and livers were excised. Results Blood vessel images were clearly produced by diffraction enhanced imaging. This method can discriminate vessels down to about 40 μm in diameter without contrast agent. Using a contrasting agent more details could be produced. In one liver lobe, the entire branch of the portal vein could be clearly produced by one by one phase contrast image from the main axial blood vessels of liver lobe to the nine generation of branching. Conclusions Phase contrast imaging has the advantage of good contrast and high spatial resolution.
