Objective To investigate the relationship between leptin level of IGR patients and intima-media thickness (IMT) of carotid arterial. Methods One hundred and eighteen IGR patents were enrolled into the following three groups according to the result of oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT): 38 cases of the purely impaired fasting glucose (IFG) group, 42 cases of the purely impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) group and 42 cases of the IFG combining with IGT (IFG + IGT) group. Thirty-eight cases with normol glucose tolerance (NGR) were enrolled in the NGR group. The blood fat, fasting blood-glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (insulin), fasting C peptide , 2 h-postprandial blood glucose , 2 h-insulin , 2 h-C peptide , glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C), C-reactive protein (CRP), body mass index (BMI), leptin and IMT were determined in patients of the three groups and the healthy controls. The multiple linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between leptin level and IMT , and person correlation was further used to analyze the affinity degree between leptin level and IMT. Results Compared with the NGT group, the inter-group comparison showed that leptin level was significantly increased in the IFG, IGT and (IFG + IGT) groups (P < 0.05, respectively). Compared with the IFG and IGT groups, IMT and the leptin level were increased in the (IFG + IGT) group (P < 0.05, respectively). The multiple linear regression analysis showed that leptin level was correlated with the increase of IMT in the (IFG + IGT) group (P < 0.05), but not in the IFT group and the IGT group. Conclusion The leptin level in the IGR group and the IMT in the IFG + IGT ) group were significantly increased , the leptin level was closely associated with IMT.

Objective: To investigate the killing activity of cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells after incubation with autologous tumor cell lysate-pulsed dendritic cells (Ag-DC) and to evaluate the immune functions of patients, the clinical efficacy and side effect of Ag-DC in combination with CIK on hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated from 24 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, and cultured with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and interleukin-4 to produce dendritic cells (DCs). The DCs were pulsed with autologous tumor cell lysate. T lymphocytes from PBMC were cultured with interferon-Y (IFN-γ), IL-2, CD3-moAb, and IL-1α to prepare CIK. The killing effect of CIK on SMMC-7721 was investigated after CIK was incubated with Ag-DC. After immunotherapy with Ag-DC and CIK, immunolog-ic and clinical responses of the 24 patients were evaluated. Results: The killing effect of CIK was remarkably improved after CIK was incubated with Ag-DC. The immunotherapy with DC and CIK alleviated symptoms and improved the immune functions of the patients. Except for transient fever and chill, no remarkable adverse events were observed. Conclusion: Ag-DC in combination with CIK shows short-term efficacy on hepatocellular carcinoma through inducing specific anti-tumor immunity and can be an effective adjuvant therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma.

Objective:To explore the application value of artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system for TBS report in cervical cancer screening. Methods:A total of 16 317 clinical samples and related data of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cell smears, which were obtained from July 2020 to September 2020, were collected from Southern Hospital, Guangzhou Huayin Medical Inspection Center, Shenzhen Bao′an People′s Hospital(Group) and Changsha Yuan′an Biotechnology Co., Ltd. The TBS report artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cytology jointly developed by Southern Medical University and Guangzhou F. Q. PATHOTECH Co., Ltd. based on deep learning convolution neural network was used to diagnose all clinical samples. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of both artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system and cytologists using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system were analyzed based on the evaluation standard(2014 TBS). The time spent by the two methods was also compared. Results:The sensitivity of artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system in predicting cervical intraepithelial lesions and other lesions (including endometrial cells detected in women over 45 years old and infectious lesions) under different production methods, different cytoplasmic staining and different scanning instruments was 92.90% and 83.55% respectively, and the specificity of negative samples was 87.02%, while that of cytologists using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system was 99.34%, 97.79% and 99.10%, respectively. Moreover, cytologists using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system could save about 6 times of reading time than manual. Conclusions:Artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system for TBS report of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cytology has the advantages of high sensitivity, high specificity and strong generalization. Cytologists can significantly improve the accuracy and work efficiency of reading smears by using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system.
