Objective To investigate the metabolism of lipid,calcium and phosphorus in women with endometriosis.Methods Clinical data of 223 patients with endometriosis and 200 patients without endometriosis were retrospectively analyzed.Electrochemiluminoimmunoassay was used to detect the levels of serum luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),testosterone(T),estradiol(E2)and progesterone(P),and photoelectric colorimetry was used to determine the concentrations of serum triglyceride ( TG), total cholesterol ( TC ), low density lipoprotein ( LDL), high density lipoprotein (HDL), calcium and phosphorus in the patients with and without endometriosis. Results The levels of serum P were 2. 0 nmol/L and 1.8 nmol/L in endometriosis patients with age≤35 years old (case group A)and ＞35 years old (case group B), and 1.6 nmol/L and 1.2 nmol/L in patients without endometriosis at age≤35 years old (control group A) and ＞ 35 years old (control group B), respectively. A significant difference was found between case group A and control group A, and between case group B and control group B. The levels of serum LH was significantly higher in case group B (7. 2 U/L) than that in control group B (6. 1 U/L), however, there was no significant difference between case group A (7. 0 U/L) and control group A (6. 5 U/L). Also no significant difference in serum FSH, T and E2 levels was found between case group A (respectively, 6.2 U/L,1.1 nmol/L and 269 pmol/L) and control group A (respectively, 6.3 U/L, 1.1nmol/L and 264 pmol/L), also between case group B (respectively, 6.6 U/L, 1.0 nmol/L and 345pmol/L) and control group B (6. 6 IU/L, 0. 9 nmol/L and 279 pmol/L). The concentrations of serum TG in case group A and B (0. 71 mmol/L and 0. 72 mmol/L) were significantly lower than in control group A and B (0. 92 mmol/L and 1.08 mmol/L), respectively. The concentrations of serum LDL in case group A and B [ (2. 2 ± 0. 5) mmol/L and (2.4 ± 0. 6) mmol/L]were also significantly lower than in control group A and B[ (2. 4 ± 0. 7) mmol/L and (2. 62 ±0. 63) mmol/L], respectively. However, the concentrations of serum HDL in case group A and B [ (1.62 ± 0. 31) mmol/L and(1.53 ± 0. 32) mmol/L] were significantly higher than in control group A and B [ ( 1.48 ± 0. 21 ) mmol/L and ( 1.37 ± 0.22) mmol/L], respectively.In addition, the concentrations of serum TC were not significantly different between case group A and control group A [ (4. 2 ± 0. 7) mmol/L and (4. 29 ± 0. 71 ) mmol/L], and between case group B and control group B [ (4. 4±0. 8) mmol/L and (4. 5±0. 7) mmol/L]. The levels of serum phosphorus in case group A and B [ (1.01 ± 0. 22) mmol/L and (0. 89 ± 0. 18 ) mmol/L] were significantly lower than in control group A and B [ ( 1.23 ± 0. 24) mmol/L and ( 1.10 ±0. 13 ) mmol/L ] , respectively. But the levels of serum calcium had no significant difference between case group A and control group A [ (2. 39 ± 0. 23 ) mmol/and (2.41 ± 0. 12) mmol/L], and between case group B and control group B [(2.40 ± 0.28) mmol/L and (2. 42 ±0. 20) mmol/L]. Conclusion The abnormal metabolism of lipid and phosphorus, and the higher levels of serum P may playing a role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.

Objective To investigate the in-vitro antibacterial effect and sterility test of Danshen injection(DI). Methods Three kinds of in-vitro antibacterial and bacteriostatic methods were used to investigate the in-vitro antibacterial effect of DI and to establish its sterility test according to the results of the antibacterial effects. By validation test, the validity of its sterility test was evaluated. Results The results of doubling dilution test showed that the minimum bacteriostatic concentration of DI is 0.098 mg/mL, and its minimum bactericidal concentration is 1. 563 mg/mL in ethanolsulfate medium and 0.195 mg/mL in nutrient meat soup medium. Rate of recovered bacterium was much more than 80% by membrane filtration method. Conclusion DI has strong in-vitro bacteriostatie effects for staphylococcus aureus and the effectual method of its sterility test is membrane filtration method.

Objective To explore the relationship between learning and memory ability and antioxidant enzyme (SOD, CAT, GSH-Px)activities in specific brain areas of D-galactose model rats. Methods The aging models were induced by D-galactose in 3-month old rats, and the learning and memory ability of aging model was detected in model MG-2 maze. The activity of SOD, CAT and GSH-Px in brain cortex, cerebellum,hippocampus, striatum and hypothalamus were detected immediately after rats were executed. Results The learning and memory ability of D-ga-lactose aging model was lower than that of control group. The difference of antioxidant enzyme activity among different rat brain areas was significant. The correct response rate of D-galactose aging model was( 58.9 ± 5.4 ) %, which is significantly lower than that of the control group (66.8 ±8.9) %, P ＜ 0.05. The times of response required reaching the standard after 24h of aging model rats was significantly higher than that of the control( Aging group :29.5 ± 12.8, Control group 16.6 ± 6.2; P＜ 0.01 ). Correct response rate after 24h was significantly lower than that of the control ( Aging group :67.3 ± 10.3 , Control group: 79.1 ± 6.9; P＜ 0.01 ). The SOD activity in cortex, hippocampus and striatum( Aging group :66.12 ±5.89,80.46 ± 6.57,87.82 ± 6.87; Control group :57.63 ± 4.21,67.46 ± 6.80,68.37 ± 6.52) significantly reduced ( P ＜ 0.05 and P ＜ 0.01 ).The CAT activity in cortex, hippocampus, striatum and hypothalamus( Aging group :6.45 ± 0.55,5.86 ±0.35,6.93 ± 0.63,8.89 ± 0.38; Control group :5.32 ± 0.56,4.76 ± 0.38,4.37 ± 043,6.11 ± 0.37) significantly reduced ( P ＜ 0.05 and P ＜ 0.01 ). GSH-Px activity was similar in each brain area without significance ( P ＞ 0.05 ). Conclusions The learning and memory ability of aging mode rats decreased. The change of antioxidant enzyme activities in hippocampus, cortex, striatum and hypothalamus is closely related to learning and memory ability.

Background and purpose:Angiogenesis plays an important part in growth and metastases of breast cancer. Nowadays researchers put more concern about whether endocrine therapy adjusts tumor angiogenesis in breast cancer. Here we investigated the regulation of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression in breast cancer in response to various stimuli:estradiol(E2) ,ICI182780 and tamoxifen. Objective To investigate safety and efficacy of hysteroscopy in treatment of cesarean scar pregnancy(CSP).Methods From Aug.2003 to Dec.2011, 33 cases with CSP treated by hysteroscopy guided by transabdominal ultrasound or laparoscopy were studied retrospectively in Women's Hospital,School of Medicine, Zhejiang University.The clinical characteristics including gestational age, myometrial thickness anterior to the CSP, β-hCG level before treatment,success rate, cure rate, operative time, blood loss, time of serum β-hCG resolution and CSP mass clearance, and complication were collected and analyzed.Results Median gestational age was 54 days (range, 37 - 140 days).Median level of β-hCG before treatment was 15 000 U/L( range,3.3 - 151 747 U/L).Mean thickness of anterior myometrium was 3.3 mm.Twenty-nine cases underwent uterine artery embolism (UAE) before hysteroscopy.Pouch in the anterior uterine isthmus with gestation masses implanted were observed in 30 cases (91%, 30/33 ).CSP masses progressed toward the pouch or uterine cavity in all cases was removed by cutting wire loop electrode combined with curettage.The mean operative time was (34 ± 10) minutes.Both success rate and cure rate were 94% ( 31/33 ) .Salvage methotrexate ( MTX ) therapy was administrated in one case.Complication occurred in three cases (9%, 3/33 ).Both massive hemorrhage rate and hysterectomy rate were performed in two cases (6%, 2/33).No uterine perforation occurred.The mean time of hCG resolution was (22 ± 10)days.The mean time of CSP mass clearance was (21 ± 12) days.Four pregnancies were achieved in four cases:one term pregnancy and three abortions.No recurrent CSP occurred.Conclusion Management of CSP by hysteroscopy combined with UAE is safe and effective.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of complex Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection in treating advanced cancer pain. Methods 90 patients with advanced cancer and pain were selected randomly. The patients' general information was analyzed, their pain was ranked, and the score of quality of life was estimated. Results Among the patients with gentle pain,ratio of CR is 28.57 % (10/35), ratio of PR is 54.29 % (19/35), ratio of slight response is 5.71 %, total effective rate is 88.57 % (31/35). Among the patients with medium pain, the ratio of CR is 10% (3/30), ratio of PR is 23.33 % (7/30), ratio of slight response is 36.67 % (11/30), total effective rate is 70 % (21/30). Among the patients with severe pain, the ratio of CR is 0, ratio of PR is 4.00 % (1/25), ratio of slight response is 12.00 % (2/25), total effective rate is 16.00 % (4/25). The score of quality of life was improved from (21.04±4.92) to (33.52±5.98). The difference was statistical significant (t =14.07, P =0.00). TCM type: in all the 90 patients, the total effective rate of mixture of phlegm and blood phlegm are the highest (88.46 %), and the total effective rate of yang asthhenia of the spleen and kidney is 20.00 %. Rash was found in only one patient and no other adverse effect, such as in digestive tract, bone marrow, heart, liver or kidney was found among all patients. Conclusion Complex Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection has significant analgesic effect in treating light and medium cancer pain and could improve the patients' quality of life, and it has significant therapeutic effect especially in the mixture of phlegm and blood stasis patients. So Complex Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection is safe and effective traditional Chinese medical drug.

Background and purpose:18?-glycyrrhetinic acid(GA) is one of the important components of glycyrrhiza.Recent years,studies showed that GA has the effect of proliferation inhibition in human acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells,human liver carcinoma and lung cancer cells.We investigated the effects of GA on induction of apoptosis in human breast carcinoma(MCF7) cells.The previous studies have demonstrated that the dynamic change of intracellular free Ca~(2+) concentration([Ca~(2+)]i)plays important roles in many links of apoptosis-induced process.Therefore we also researched the relationship between GA-induced apoptosis and [Ca~(2+)]i in MCF-7 cells.Methods:After MCF-7 cells were treated with 50-250 ?mol/L GA for 24 h,cell viability for proliferation was assessed by MTT assay.MCF-7 cells treated with 100 ?mol/L and 150 ?mol/L GA for 24 h,the apoptotic rates in MCF7 cells were examined by terminal deoxynucleotide transferase mediated dUTP nick-end-labeling method,flow cytometry with Annexin V/ propidium iodide fluorescent stain and single cell gel electrophoresis assay(SCGE).For cells treated with 150 ?mol/L GA for 24 h,i was measured by Fure-2 fluorescein load method.For cells treated with 150 ?mol/L GA combined with 100 ?mol/L BAPTA-AM or 0.5 mmol/L EGTA for 24 h,cell apoptosis were examined by SCGE.Results:For cells treated with GA from 100 ?mol/L to 250 ?mol/L,the rate of proliferative inhibition was increased significantly(P
