Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of laparoscope and open operation in treatment of adrenal pheochromocytoma.Methods 52 cases with adrenal pheochromocytoma were randomly divided into two groups,they were treated with laparoscope or open operation.Intraoperative blood loss,intraoperative blood pressure and heart rate fluctuations,operation time,drainage,hospitalization and postoperative complications were compared between two groups.Results Intraoperative comparison:In laparoscope group,operative blood loss was (65.7 ± 50.2) ml,blood pressure fluctuations in 1 case (3.8％),heart rate variability was (18.7 ± 6.1)/min and the operation time was (93.7 ± 21.7) min; in the open operation group,amount of bleeding during the operation was (240.4 ± 150.5) ml,blood pressure fluctuations in 7 cases(26.9％),heart rate variability was (25.6 ± 6.3)/min and the operation time was (137.7 ± 30.5) min,the differences between the two groups was significant (t =3.15,x2 =5.32,t =3.65,t =4.16,all P＜0.05).The maximum tumor diameter of open operation group was (7.3 ± 1.4) cm,which was bigger than that of the laparoscope group (6.6 ± 1.2) cm,but no significant difference between two groups (P ＞ 0.05).Postoperative comparison:in the laparoscope group,postoperative drainage was (174.3 ± 121.3)ml,drainage time was (4.3 ± 1.3) d and time of hospitalization was (8.4 ± 1.2) d,which were significantly less than those in open operation group(318.5 ± 132.6)ml,(8.7 ±2.3)d and (11.4 ±3.2)d(t =2.54 3.13,2.12,all P ＜0.05).No serious complications were observed in two groups,laparoscope group 1 case,open operation group 5 cases had postoperative pain,after the corresponding symptomatic treatment was improved.After 3 months of follow-up,clinical symptoms were significantly improved or disappeared,ultrasound or CT reexamination found no recurrence.Conclusion Laparoscope in treatment of adrenal pheochromocytoma not only has definite curative effect,but also has small trauma,shorter operation time and less complications,it is worth clinical application.

OBJECTIVE:To facilitate the automatic drug dispensing in hospital pharmacy.METHODS:Full automatic single dose pastill dispensing machine was introduced to hospital central drug dispensing.The running cost was analyzed from two aspects and the feasibility of cutting cost is demonstrated.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The key to achieve automatic drug dispensing in hospital pharmacy is to reduce the running cost to a lowest degree,and the key to lower running cost lie in the omnidirectional controlling of cost,enhancing of performance and reinforcing of the consciousness on cost etc.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of uterine artery embolization (UAE) for the treatment of cesarean scar pregnancy compared with gelatin sponge strip and gelatin sponge particles as an embolic agent.Methods A retrospective study was performed of 94 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of cesarean scar pregnancy, and they were divided into two groups randomly.The embolic agent in experimental group was gelatin sponge strip and gelatin sponge particles were used in control group.All the cases underwent curettage operation after UAE.The mean amount of bleeding loss during curettage operation, abdominal pain degree after UAE procedure, UAE costs and time of recovery to the normal level of blood β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) were compared between two groups.Results The mean amount of bleeding loss during curettage operation and time of recovery to the normal level of blood β-HCG were no statistical differences compared with the two groups, but the abdominal pain degree after UAE procedure and UAE costs in experimental group were lower than in control group, there were significant statistical differences compared with the two groups.Conclusion Gelatin sponge strip as an embolic agent in the UAE procedure of cesarean scar pregnancy could reduce post-operative pain and the cost, which is worthy of clinical promotion.

Objective To observe the application of ultrasound-guided femoral nerve block (FNB) and lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block (LFCNB) for patients undergoing hip fracture surgery.Methods 60 patients scheduled for hip fracture surgery undergoing LMA general anesthesia were randomly divided into 3 groups,20 cases in each group.Before transfer patients from bed to operating table,A group received dezocine 5mg iv,B group received fascia iliaca compartment block(FICB),C group received FNB combined with LFCNB.40mL of 0.375％ ropivacaine was injected guiding by ultrasound in B group and C group.The time of sufficient sensory block and awake,the dosage of propofol and remifentanil,MAP and HR at pre-block (T1),20min after block (T2),transfer bed (T3),LMA insert (T4),skin incision(T5),LMA remove(T6) and sober(T7) were recorded.Pain was assessed using visual analogue scale(VAS) pre-and post block.The incidence of using vasoactive drugs,agitation,pain and adverse reaction were also recorded.Results The time of sufficient sensory block and awake,the dosage of propofol and remifentanil in A,B and C groups were as following:A group (not measured),(20.3 ± 1.3) min,(835 ± 6.7) mg,(1 285 ± 18) μg;B group (i2.2 ±2.7)min,(13.3 ± 1.4)min,(610 ±9.9)mg,(835 ± 15) μg;C group (9.7 ± 2.4)min,(12.8 ± 1.5) min,(555 ± 6.5) mg,(785 ± 16) μg.The time of awake,the dosage of propofol and remifentanil in B group and C group were significantly lower than those in A group(F =2.62,2.41,2.45,all P ＜ 0.05).The time of sufficient sensory block in C group was lower than that in B group (p ＜ 0.05).The MAP and HR at T2,T3,T5 and T7 in A,B and C groups were:A group (115 ± 4) mmHg,(90 ± 8) beats/min,(135 ± 6) mmHg,(98 ± 8) beats/min,(104 ±6) mmHg,(87 ± 4) beats/min,(120 ± 5) mmHg,(88 ± 8) beats/min;B group (102 ± 3) mmHg,(81 ± 6) beats/min,(112 ± 5)mmHg,(82 ± 8)beats/min,(89 ±6) mmHg,(72 ± 3) beats/min,(100 ±6)mmHg,(76 ± 8) beats/min;Cgroup (100 ± 3) mmHg,(80 x 6) beats/min,(109 ± 6) mmHg,(83 ± 5) beats/min,(86 ± 5) mmHg,(70 ± 3) beats/min,(99 ± 5) mmHg,(75 ± 5) beats/min.The levels of MAP and HR in B group and C group were significantly lower thanthose in A group(F =2.25,2.85,2.87,2.91,all P ＜ 0.05).The VAS scores at T2,T3,and T7in A,B and C groupswere:A group (3.9 ± 0.7) points,(8.2 ± 0.3) points,(6.0 ± 0.8) points;B group (2.3 ± 0.4) points,(4.1 ±0.4) points,(2.2 ± 0.7) points;C group (2.1 ± 0.5) points,(2.4 ± 0.4) points,(1.2 ± 0.4) points.The VAS scoresin B group and C group were significantly lower than those in A group (2.36,2.82,2.88,all P ＜ 0.05).The VASscores at transfer bed and sober in C group were significantly lower than those in B group (F =2.32,2.38,all P ＜0.05).The incidence of using ephedrine/atropine,urapidil/esmolol,PONV,agitation,pain and incision pain in A,Band C groups were:A group 30％,30％,25％,25％,40％;B group 10％,10％,0％,0％,10％;C group 10％,5％,0％,0％,0％.The number of patients who required vasoactive drugs and adverse reaction in B group and C group were significantly lower than those in A group(x2 =7.58,8.81,9.11,9.11,8.89,all P ＜0.05).The incidence of incision pain at sober in C group was lower than that in B group(x2 =9.21,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The ultrasound -guided FNB and LFCNB can obviously shorten the onset time,reduce the dosage of general anaesthetic and maintain the stability of henodynamics during the perioperative period.It has effective analgesia during transfer of patients from bed to operating table and sober.

Objective To investigate the effects of resveratrol on cell growth,migration,and invasion of human breast cancer cell line MDAMB-231.Methods MTT assay and soft agar colony formation assay were used to detect the effects of resveratrol on cell growth.The effects of resveratrol on cell migration and invasion were determined by Transwell migration assay and Transwell invasion assay.respectively.Results Resveratrol(25 to 200 μmol/L)inhibited the growth of MDA-MB-231 cells in a time-and concentration-dependent manner(P＜0.01).The colony formation rate of MDA-MB-231 cells decreased with the increase in the concentrations of resveratrol.After being treated with resveratrol of 25,50,100 and 200 μmol/L for 24 hours,the invasive and migratory ability of MDA-MB-231 cells was significantly inhibited (P＜0.01).Conclusion Resveratrol could inhibit the growth of MDA-MB-231 cells,and the invasive and migratory ability of MDA-MB231 cells is also inhibited by resveratrol through degrading extracellular matrix.

AIM:To detect the changes of cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) expression in the brain following ischemia-reperfusion of hind limbs in the rats and to elucidate their significance .METHODS:Hind limb ischemia was in-duced by clamping infrarenal aorta with a microvascular clip and brain injury was made by following reperfusion .The brain tissue was obtained from the animals subjected to sham operation , 4 h of ischemia without reperfusion and 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h of reperfusion following 4 h of ischemia .The expression of CBS at mRNA and protein levels was measured at different time points by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction ( RT-PCR) and Western blotting .The CBS activity and hy-drogen sulfide ( H2 S) concentration in the brain were determined by a universal microplate reader .The observation of path-ologic changes of the brain was made following the inhibition of CBS by hydroxylamine .RESULTS:The relative expression of CBS at mRNA and protein levels in IR group significantly increased compared with sham group .It reached a peak at 12 h (P<0.01), and returned to baseline at 24 h (P>0.05).This time course correlated with increased CBS activity and H2 S concentration .No statistically significant difference in the above indexes between sham operation group and ischemia group was observed (P>0.05).Inhibition of CBS activity induced more severe brain injury in IR group .CONCLUSION:Up-regulation of CBS/H2 S pathway is involved in the protection for neurons during the ischemia-reperfusion of hind limbs .

Objective To investigate the effects of remifentanil on lipid peroxidation druing hemorrhagic shock-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in rabbits. Methods Thirty-two healthy adult rabbits weighing 2.0-2.5 kg were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 8 each): sham operation group (group S); ALI group; low-dose remifentanil group (group LR); high-dose remifentanil group (group HR). The left femoral artery was cannulated for blood-letting and blood sampling. The right femoral artery was cannulated for remifentanil administration. The model of hemorrhagic shock was established by modified Wigger' s methods. In group S, only cannulation was performed. In group LR and HR, remifentanil was infused intraperitoneally at 0.66 and 1.32 μg·kg-1 ·min-1 15 min before blood-letting respectively, while group ALI received equal volume of normal saline instead. Arterial blood samples were taken at 0, 20,70 and 100 min after blood-letting (T1-4) for blood gas analysis. The animals were then sacrificed and the lungs were immediately removed for histological examination with light microscope and determination of W/D lung weight ratio, MDA content and SOD activity. Results W/D ratio and MDA content were significantly increased, while SOD activity was significantly decreased in group ALI compared with group S (P ＜0.05). The pH value at T2 and PaO2 at T2-4 in group LR and the pH value and PaCO2 at T2-4 in group HR were significantly higher than those in group ALI (P ＜ 0.05). W/D ratio and MDA content were significantly lower,while SOD activity was significantly higher in group LR and HR than in group ALI, and in group HR than in group LR (P ＜ 0.05). Remifentanil infusion significantly attenuated the pathologic changes in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Remifentanil pretreatment can attenuate hemorrhagic shock-induced ALI through inhibiting lipid peroxidation in rabbits.

BACKGROUND:With the continuous development of nanotechnology, a growing number of nanotechnologies have been used in the field of biological medicine, providing a great deal of interest for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. OBJECTIVE:To review the research situation of nanobiomaterials and its application in biological medicine. METHODS: The articles about nanobiomaterials and nano bioceramic materials were retrieved from Chinese Journal Ful-text Database, PubMed and Wanfang database published during January 2000 to October 2014 by the first author using computer. Key words were “nano, bioceramics” in Chinese and English, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: With the development of nanotechnology, some nanotechnologies have entered the stage of practical application. Application of nanotechnology plays a preventive effect to the occurrence and development of disease. Nano-ceramic significantly increases the strength, toughness and superplasticity of materials, overcomes many deficiencies of biological ceramics, and has been widely used in the field of orthopedics, such as artificial joints, artificial bones, bone filing material, bone replacement materials, artificial vertebrae and so on.

Objective To explore the relationship between apoptosis promoting effector molecules TFAR19,Apaf-1 and lubar intervertebral disc protrusion.Methods 99 of operation patients with lubar intervertebral disc protrusion in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University Department of Spine and Osteoputhy were recruited.Among them,single segment of lubar intervertebral disc protrusion were 70 (Group A),more than one segments of lubar intervertebral disc protrusion were 29 (Group B).In addition,40 unrelated healthy people from physical examination center were enrolled as controls (Group C).Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to examine serum TFAR19,Apaf-1 levels in lubar intervertebral disc protrusion patients.Results The level of TFAR19 in Group A,Group B and Group C respectively were 1.85±0.14,2.33±0.25 and 1.30±0.09 ng/ml.The TFAR19 activity in each group was statistically significant difference (F=7.979,P＜0.01).Compared with Group C,the TFAR19 activity in Group B (q=5.59,P＜0.01),Group A (q=3.60,P=0.012) was statistically significant difference.The TFAR19 activity in lubar intervertebral disc protrusion patients subgroups (Group A,Group B) was statistically significant difference (q =2.93,P =0.012).The level of Apaf-1 in Group A,Group B and Group C respectively were 159.22±11.87,203.20±20.21 and 107.52±11.58 pg/ml.The Apaf-1 activity in each group was statistically significant difference (F=8.828,P＜0.01).Compared with Group C,the Apaf-1 activity in Group B (q=5.86,P＜0.01),Group A (q=3.89,P=0.007) was statistically significant difference.The Apaf-1 activity in lubar intervertebral disc protrusion patients subgroups (Group A,Group B) was statistically significant difference (q =2.97,P=0.037).Male/female ratio between each groups was not statistically significant difference (x2=0.229,P =0.892).Age between each groups was not statistically significant difference (F=0.091,P =0.91).Conclusion The augment of TFAR19 and Apaf-1 promotes apoptosis of lubar intervertebral disc protrusion.It is connected with quantity of protrusive segments.The more segments of protrusion,the higher TFAR19 and Apaf-1 level of examination will be.
