Objective To establish a quality standard for Xiaoer Shengxue granules. Method SHU-Dihuang, yam, Chinese data in Xiaoer Shengxue granules were identified by TLC. Ferrous sulfate in the granule was determined by UV with wavelength at 509 nm. Results SHU-Dihuang, yam, Chinese data could be detected by TLC. Ferrous sulfate showed a good linear relationship at the range of 0.50～2.50 mg/mL, r=0.999 9. The average recovery was 101.3% and RSD was 1.48% (n=5). Conclusion The method is available with a good reproducibility and can be used for the quality control of Xiaoer Shengxue granule.

Objective:To investigate the change and related factors of nitric oxide,nitric oxide synthase level and cerebral blood flow(CBF) in panic disorder.Methods:30 patients with panic disorder,30 patients with generalized anxiety disorder and 22 normal controls entered the study.Serum level of NO and NOS were assayed.Cerebral blood flow were measured with TCD.Results:The concentration of NO was significantly lower in panic disorder group in comparison with GAD group.There was no significant difference in NOS level between panic disorder group and the control group.Cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the left and right middle cerebral artery and mean cerebral blood flow velocity in the right middle cerebral artery were lower than normal control group and the difference were very significant.Cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the right vertebral artery was lower than those of GAD and NC group.The concentration of NO in panic disorder was correlated with HAMA score negatively.Cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the left middle cerebral artery was correlated with mean Cerebral blood flow velocity in the left middle cerebral artery,peak CBF velocity in the right middle cerebral artery and psychological anxiety positively and correlated to cerebral blood peak mean velocity in the right middle cerebral artery,peak CBF velocity in the right anterior cerebral artery,age and female negatively.Cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the right middle cerebral artery has positive correlation with mean cerebral blood flow velocity in the right middle cerebral artery and peak CBF locity in the right anterior cerebral artery and negative correlation with cerebral blood mean flow velocity in the right anterior cerebral artery. Mean cerebral blood flow velocity in the right middle cerebral artery was correlated to cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the right middle cerebral artery,mean cerebral blood flow velocity in the left middle cerebral artery,cerebral blood mean flow velocity in the right anterior cerebral artery and NO level positively and age,cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the left middle cerebral artery and cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the right anterior cerebral artery negatively.Cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the right vertebra artery has positive correlation with cerebral blood mean flow velocity in the right vertebra artery and cerebral blood mean flow velocity in the left middle cercbral artery and negative correlation with cerebral blood peak flow velocity in the left anterior cerebral artery and cerebral blood mean flow velocity in the right anterior cerebral artery.Conclusion:The change of NO and cerebral blood flow may be one of the neurobiological mechanisms in panic disorder.To assay the level of NO and measure cerebral blood flow might become approach of diagnosis for panic disorder.

Currently, multimedia teaching plays a more and more important role in colleges.However, the negative effects of multimedia teaching have gradually revealed because of the neglection of its limitations. In this article, strategies were proposed from three different aspects against disadvantages of multimedia teaching in colleges in order to improve its role more effectively.

Objective To study the influence of culture supernatant of psoriatic peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) on the colony-forming of bone marrow-derived hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells. Methods Bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells were separated by density gradient centrifugation. Methylcellulose semi-solid culture medium was used to culture the bone marrow mononuclear cells in culture systems. The PBMC culture supernatant from psoriatic patients or normal controls were added to the culture, to observe their influence on the marrow-derived high proliferative potential colony forming cells (HPP-CFCs), erythroid and granulocyte-macrophage colony forming units (CFUs-E and CFUs-GM) of bone marrow hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells from healthy individuals. Results The values of HPP-CFCs, CFUs-E and CFUs-GM were significantly lower in the bone marrow cells stimulated by the supernatant of cultured psoriatic PBMCs than those stimulated by the supernatant of cultured normal PBMCs and those in the spontaneous proliferation group (P 0.05). Conclusions Psoriatic PBMCs have specific biological activity and can inhibit the colony forming of bone marrow hematopoietic cells from healthy individuals.

Objective:To investigate the colony formation of high-proliferative potential colony-forming cells(HPP-CFC) from bone marrow-derived hematopoietic cells of psoriatic patients and p21 gene promotor methylation in HPP-CFC,and probe into the relationship between the colony formation and the methylation status of p21 gene promoter.[WT5"HZ] Methods:[WT5"BZ]Bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells were separated by density gradient centrifugation.The cells were cultured in methycellulose semi-solid culture medium with SCF,GM-CSF,IL-3 and IL-6 for 14 days, and then high-proliferative potential colony-forming cells(HPP-CFC) were counted.The HPP-CFC were collected and their genomic DNA was isolated . DNA was subjected to bisulfite treatment,and the modified DNA was studied by using the methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP).[WT5"HZ]Results:[WT5"BZ]In methycellulose semi-solid culture system, the number of HPP-CFC in bone marrow of psoriatic patients was significantly less than that of normal control. The positive frequency of methylation of p21 gene promoter in HPP-CFC of normal contrasts was higher than that of psoriatic patients. [WT5"HZ]Conclusion:[WT5"BZ]The activity of methylation status of p21 gene promoter of bone marrow derived hematopoietic cells of psoriatic patients is abnomal. The lower positive frequency of methyllation of p21 gene promotor in HPP-CFC perhaps play a role in lower colony-forming capability of HPP-CFC of psoriatic patients.

Objective: To investigate the levels of vitamin D and the correlation between DPN and vitamin D in elderly patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN). Methods: A total of 849 patients aged 60 years and over admitted into endocrinology department from June 2016 to September 2017 were enrolled in this retrospective case-control study.According to DPN diagnostic criteria, patients were divided into the non-DPN group(n=542)and the DPN group(n=307). The 25(OH)-vitamin D[25(OH)D]level and blood biochemical parameters were determined and compared between the two groups.The risk factors for DPN were analyzed using logistic regression analysis and plotting receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves. Results: The mean of serum 25(OH)D level in the 849 patients was 43.9±19.4 nmol/L.Serum 25(OH)D level was lower in the DPN patients than in the non-DPN patients[(40.9±20.4)nmol/L vs.(45.7±18.6)nmol/L, P<0.05]. The incidence of 25(OH)D deficiency was higher in the DPN group than in the non-DPN group(72.3% or 222/307 vs. 64.6% or 350/542, P<0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that 25(OH)D was a protective factor for DPN(OR=0.980, 95% CI: 0.964~0.995, P<0.05)and the disease duration was a risk factor for DPN(OR=1.048, 95% CI: 1.027~1.070, P<0.001). ROC analysis indicated that the diagnostic cut-off value of serum 25(OH)D for predicting DPN was 37.5nmol/L, with a Youden index of 0.17, sensitivity of 0.65 and specificity of 0.52. Conclusions The 25(OH)D level is much lower in diabetic patients, especially in DPN patients.Higher 25(OH)VD level might be a protective factor for DPN, and vitamin D might be one of potential biomarkers for DPN in diabetic patients.

Objective To evaluate the effect of endoscopic management of foreign bodies in the upper digestive tract. Methods Clinical data and endoscopic treatment methods of 41 patients were retrospectively analyzed from October 2014 to May 2016. Patients with incomplete medical records were excluded. Results Foreign bodies in the upper digestive tract occurred high frequency in elderly. 53.6% of the foreign bodies were located in the esophagus. Date stones was the main type of foreign bodies (56.1%). 41 cases with foreign bodies in digestive tract were successfully extracted, while 1 case occurred perforation. Conclusion Endoscopic management of gastrointestinal foreign bodies is safe and effective.

Objective: To study the effects of resistant dextrin (RD) on liver fat deposition in high-fat diet-fed (HFD) mice, and to further explore whether it can regulate the AMPK signaling pathway. Methods: Thirty-six 4-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into three groups: normal control group (chow), high-fat diet group (HFD), and high-fat diet+ resistant dextrin group (HFD+ RD, 10 g·kg^-1·d^-1). After 12 weeks of intervention, the liver tissues and serum samples were collected. Serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT) levels and liver TG were measured. Liver tissue HE and oil red O staining were performed to observe hepatocyte steatosis and liver fat deposition. Quantitative real-time PCR was performed to detect the relative expression of fatty acid synthesis related genes SREBP1, ACC, SCD1 in the liver tissue, and Western blot was performed to detect relative protein levels of pAMPK, SREBP1, Fasn, and ACC in the liver. Results: Compared with chow group, the body weight gain, fasting blood glucose (FBG), serum TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, and ALT levels were increased in HFD group (P<0.01), and serum AST level was also increased (P<0.05). Moreover, liver oil red O staining revealed that liver fat deposition was much more obvious in HFD group than that in chow group, and liver TG was also increased in HFD group (P<0.01). The mRNA levels of SREBP1 and ACC were increased in HFD group compared with that in chow group, and the protein level of pAMPK was reduced in HFD group (P<0.05). As compared with HFD group, the body weight gain, serum TG, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C and ALT levels were significantly reduced in RD group (P<0.01), and FBG level was also reduced (P<0.05). Moreover, RD treatment alleviated liver fat deposition and TG accumulation (P<0.01). The mRNA levels of SREBP1, ACC, and SCD1 were all reduced in RD group compared with HFD group. The protein level of pAMPK was increased, and the expression of Fasn was reduced with RD treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion Resistant dextrin improves liver fat deposition and activates the AMPK signaling pathway in HFD-fed mice.

PURPOSE: To investigate the changes and underlying mechanisms in parents' safety awareness and the use of child safety seats after the mandatory legislation in Shanghai city, China. METHODS: This study was carried out by Shanghai Key Laboratory of Environment and Children's Health using a multi-stage, simple random sampling method. Volunteers with children aged 0-12 months were recruited. Child safety seats were sent to each volunteer's family. Telephone encounters and/or on-site visits were used to collect data from parents using a phased survey on children's safety during car use. RESULTS: Among all respondents, 91.2% had heard of motor vehicle accidents involving children, and 97.2% could describe the appropriate use of a safety seat to minimize the risk of child injury in a collision. Among 1078 families with newborns, awareness of child safety seats was 91.9%. There were 86% patients aware that new laws and regulations have been released regarding the use of child safety seats, and 98.5% of them plan to comply with the new laws. Moreover, 61% patients think that taxis should be routinely equipped with child safety seats. CONCLUSION The parents in Shanghai obtained a high level of awareness of children's traffic safety after the introduction of child safety seats legislation, and had a positive experience related to the use of child safety seats. Taxi may be an important area of focus for implementation of child traffic safety. Traffic safety laws and regulations with further impact should be continuously studied.
