BACKGROUND: Cardiac reserve indicators obtained under quiescent condition are used as evaluating index for cardiac reserve functions. However, most important aspect of cardiac dysfunction in heart failure is not the depressed cardiac performance noted at basal resting states, but rather the loss of cardiac reserve. OBJECTIVE: To develop a data processing and information management system for detecting cardiac reserve indicator with the widely used B mode ultrasound instrument in the ultrasonography field, and to provide guidance for B mode ultrasound instrument perfection. METHODS: General B mode ultrasound instrument as peripherals was connected with the pc by image acquisition card; ultrasound heart image diagnosis and management system including professional heart image acquisition and process and perfect data bank was develop. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: An efficient and flexible mini picture archiving and communication system system was achieved, which realized image enhancement, geometric parameter measuring, convenient diagnosis report output, archive management and print function. Results demonstrated that with the powerful data process ability of PC, the system could improve the performance of the traditional ultrasound instrument in detecting cardiac reserve, which provide a powerful support for the further study.

AIM: To study inhibitive effect of Lagotis Brevituba Maxim extracted on human stomach cancer SGC-7901 cells proliferation and/or induce apoptosis. METHODS: Human stomach cancer SGC-7901 cells were treated with Lagotis Brevituba Maxim extracted from n-butanol of 0.34~21.60 mg/mL for 24 h~72 h.Cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay.Morphological changes of apoptosis were examined by fluorescence microscope and electron microscope.DNA fragmentation was visualized by agarose gel electrophoresis. The amount of apoptosis cells was measured by flow cytometry. RESULTS: Growth of SGC-7901 cells was obviously inhibited by Lagotis Brevituba Maxim extract with value from 21.60 mg/mL to 0.34 mg/mL.After incubation of SGC-7901 cells with 2.7 mg/mL Lagotis Brevituba Maxim extract for 48 h, morphological changes of apoptosis were observed.DNA ladder was identified by agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA ladder. CONCLUSION: The n-butanol extract of Lagotis Brevituba Maxim can inhibit SGC-7901 cell growth and induce apoptosis.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects and experience of the tracheal stent implantation for the management of severe tracheal stenosis.Materials Thirteen patients with severe tracheal stenosis of various causes underwent high kilovoltage radiography and computed tomography for evaluating the site, form and extent of the stenosis including 10 at the trachea,1 at the right main bronchus and 2 at left main bronchus. The C2 catheter assisted with ultra-slipping guide wire was inserted into the trachea under fluoroscopy and then a replaced high shoring guide wire was pushed through the stenotic segment and retained the stent. Results All stents were implanted successfully with successful rate 100% together with dyspneic improvements. The mean survival time was 6.2 months for patients with malignant neoplasm. One patient with benign tracheal stenosis has been followed-up for 5 years without restenosis. Conclusions The tracheal stent implantation is an effective means for severe tracheal stenosis.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of health management on quality of life of hypertensive patients living in underdeveloped rural regions. Methods Minqin County of Gansu Province was taken as research field, and health education covered all the population. Individual follow-up was adopted by quasi-experiment,and SF-8 scale was used to evaluate the change of scores of quality of life at baseline and the end of the study. Results The score of various dimension of quality life of interventive group showed a significant decrease at the end of follow-up ( P < 0. 05) , and the net score of general health status was 10. 92,the net score of impact to social role exerted by physical function was 9. 59,and the net score of social function was 4.61. Moreover, there was statistical difference between the intervention group and the control group for their quality of life(P <0. 05) , which showed in detail that each dimension of quality of life of the intervention group had higher score than that of the control group, after adjusting baseline difference by analysis of covariance. Conclusions All these results suggest that the active screening, following up and health education, conducted by the primary health care staff of township hospitals, under the idea of health management, can improve the quality of life of hypertension patients effectively in the rural area of underdeveloped region.

Neuropathic pain is a class of pain caused by an injury or diseases of the somatosensory system and characterized by spontaneous pain, allodynia, and hyperalgesia. It is well established that central sensitization is one of the key mechanisms underlying the development and maintenance of neuropathic pain.Cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1R) of endocannabinoid system modulates synaptic transmission, regulates synaptic plasticity, inhibits central sensitization, and thus attenuates neuropathic pain.Recent studies have shown that activation of CB1R also involves in the relief of neuropathic pain-induced depression.

Background and purpose:The incidence of esophageal cancer of Kazakh race is higher than that of Han people. EphA2, as a member of Eph protein family, is related to a variety of malignant tumors. This study used immunohistochemical method and enzyme-linked immunoassay to detect EphA2 in tissues and serums of Kazakh and Han patients. Therefore to analyze the expression differences of EphA2 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissues and serum of Kazakh and Han patients in Xinjiang, and the relationship with pathological features. Methods:The expression of EphA2 protein was detected by immunohistochemistry method in 100 cases of ESCC tissues and adjacent normal esophageal tissues; Then was tested by ELISA in those cases’ serum and 60 healthy persons. Results:The positive expression rate of EphA2 protein in ESCC and corresponding adjacent tissues were 72.0%, 28.0% in Kazakh, and 62.0%, 26.0% in Han people, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P=0.000) in the 2 nations. EphA2 protein levels in serum of ESCC and healthy persons, and Kazakh were (58.36±12.60) and (29.39±7.34) pg/mL, Han Chinese were (58.79±13.29) and (29.39±7.34) pg/mL respectively, there were statistical signiifcance (P=0.000). In ESCC of Kazakh and Han people, EphA2 protein expression had relationship with lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and tumor depth of invasion (P<0.05). In the serum of Kazakh and Han ESCC patients, the expression of EphA2 protein was related to TNM stage (P<0.05), while in the Kazakh esophageal cancer, the expression level was also correlated with the depth of tumor invasion (P=0.001). The positive expression rates of EphA2 protein in Kazakh and Han ESCC specimens were 72.0%and 62.0%, respectively;the protein level in the serum of patients in the 2 nations were (58.36±12.60) and (58.79±13.29) pg/mL, respectively. The protein levels in tissues and serum of the 2 different nations has no statistical signiifcance (P>0.05). Conclusion:The high expression of EphA2 protein may contribute to the occurrence, invasion and metastasis of Kazakh and Han ESCC patients. EphA2 protein expression in tissues and serum of patients with ESCC may be related to the primary tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage. The expression of EphA2 protein in peripheral blood of patients with esophageal cancer in Kazakh may be related to depth the of invasion.
