Bluetooth is a new widely accepted standard of short distance communication in personal area networks (PANs). By analyzing the communication process based on Bluetooth protocol and requirements of physiological electrical signal transmission, such operations are performed as the design of Bluetooth model for measurement of heart sound, the development of Bluetooth network communication library and the implementation of the model by programming.

The general theories of gray correction methods for the medical ultrasonic image are introduced in this paper, including gray level correction, gray level transformation and histogram correction. The dominant histogram equalization method is expatiated and modified against its disadvantages including inapparent enhancement of partial detail and non-interactivity. Series connections of several gray correction methods are used to treat with the ultrasonic image, and thus its utility is improved through the selective enhancement of the contrast of certain gray scope.

This paper analyses the requirements of serial data communication interface between upper and lower hosts in a heart sound sampling system, and then introduces the system design scheme, schematic of hardware interface and source codes of upper and lower hosts. C8051F000 and personal computer adopted as the lower host and upper host respectively, C++ Builder and Windows API functions are also used to implement the applications.

Objective To evaluate transureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy for the treatment of ureteral stones. Methods Transureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy was undertaken for 302 cases of ureteral stones,185 male patients and 117 female with and average age of 42.There were 68 upper ureteral stones,106 middle and 128 lower ureteral stones.The transverse diameter of the stones was 5～12 mm and the vertical length 6～24 mm. Results Successful lithotripsy was achieved on one session in 264 cases ( 87.4%),with the stone completely expelled in 4～6 weeks.Complication occurred in 20,14 of which being ureteral perforation.Conservative treatment was adopted in 8 and open surgery in 6,9 of which have been followed up for 3～10 months without ureteral stricture.4 cases complicated by urinary infection. Conclusions Transureteroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy is an effective means of treating ureteral stones.

Heart sounds teletransmission is very important in telemedicine.The heart sounds are transmitted to the server which has been accessed to internet in custody center based on GPRS,then doctors analyze the heart sounds and transmit the conclusion to the consumer.

AimTo investigate the immune effects of the genetic engineering vaccine against swine cysticercosis with the animal mode of kunming mouse. Method78 kunming mice were randomly divided into three groups: 1 )injection one times with the vaccine, 2)injection twice with the vaccine at intervals of ten days, 3)non-vaccination group. All the mice were infected with the vial hatched oncopheres by the tag vein at 20 days after the first vaccination,and were killed and dissected to look for swine cysticerci 63 days later. In order to know the immune response of the vaccine and the stateof parasites in the rats,the antigens and antibodies of swine cysticerci were detected by immune methods. ResultsThe vaccine was safety to all the vaccinated rats. The antibodies against swine cysticerci began to appear positive in some of the immunized mice at 7 days postvaccination,and they were all positive at 21 days. 65 cysticerci were found in the mice of the nonvaccination group,which lodged mainly in the chests. 2 and lcysticerci were respectively found in two rats of the first group and in one rat of the second group, their protective rates of cysticerci were 96.9％ and 98. 4％,respectively. ConclusionKunming mouse as the animal model of swine cysticercosis was stable and reliable,and the genetic engineering vaccine against swine cysticercosis was safety and efficiency.

Objective To explore the application value of combined detection of serum hyaluronic acid(HA) ,procollagen type Ⅲ(PCⅢ) ,laminin(LN) and collagen type Ⅳ(CⅣ) .Methods Immunoradiometric analysis was conclucted to detet the index levels of serum HA ,PC Ⅲ ,LN and C Ⅳ in 81 patients with liver disease(24 cases in hepatitis group ,39 cases in liver cirrhosis group ,18 ca-ses in liver cancer group) and 40 healthy adult(control group) .Then compared the differences of 4 indicators among groups .Results Four index levels of serum liver fibrosis from liver disease patients were higher than those of control group(P< 0 .05 or P<0 .01) ,HA level of liver cirrhosis group and liver cancer group were significantly higher than that in hepatitis group (P<0 .05 ,P<0 .01)HA level of liver cancer group was higher than that of liver cirrhosis group(P<0 .05) ,liver cirrhosis was higher than hepati-tis group(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Combined determination of the serum HA ,PCⅢ ,LN and CⅣ has importantly clinical significance in early diagnosis and prognosis of hepatic fibrosis .

BACKGROUND:Calcitonin gene-related peptide has been confirmed to induce osteogenic differentiation, but whether it can induce the osteogenic differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells under three-dimensional culture to construct tissue-engineered bone is rarely reported.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the feasibility of exogenous calcitonin gene-related peptide to induce osteogenic differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells combined with calcium alginate gel in three-dimensional condition.
METHODS:Adipose-derived stem cells were gained by col agenase I digestion of the subcutaneous adipose tissue of both inguinal regions of New Zealand rabbits. Passage 3 cells were mixed with sodium alginate to prepare calcium alginate gel, and then the cells were assigned into two groups and cultured in 24-wel plates. Adipose-derived stem cells in the control group were cultured in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium/Ham’s nutrient mixture F-12 supplemented with 10-2 mol/Lβ-glycerophosphate sodium, 10-7 mol/L dexamethasone, 50 mg/L ascorbic acid, 10%fetal bovine serum. While, adipose-derived stem cells in the experimental group were incubated with the same medium as above, but 1.5 μg/L calcitonin gene-related peptide was added. The cells proliferation and the mRNA expressions of col agen I and osteocalcin were detected by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide and reverse transcription-PCR respectively, and alkaline phosphatase and calcium concentration were detected at different induction time.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The cellproliferation curves were S shaped. The absorbance values of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group at1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 21 days after osteogenic induction (P<0.05). Alkaline phosphatase and alizarin red staining of adipose-derived stem cells was al positive, but golden round nodes became more and bigger in the experimental group compared with the control group after 2 weeks. At 7 and 14 days, col agen I and osteocalcin mRNA expressions were higher in the experimental group than in the control group. Alkaline phosphatase activity and calcium concentration of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group at 1, 2, 3, 4 weeks after osteogenic induction (P<0.05). Results showed that the calcitonin gene-related peptide can induce the osteogenic differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells combined with calcium alginate gel.

OJECTIVE: To analyze the cinicopathological features, treatments, and prognosis of patients with papillary TDCa. METHOD: A retrospective study was conducted of the medical records of our hospital for cases of TDCa. General clinical information including diagnostic criteria and treatments was obtained and analyzed. A literature review was also conducted. RESULT: There were 160 cases of thyroglossal duct anomalies hospitalized in Peking Union Medical College Hospital in the past 20 years, and TDCa was diagnosed in 3 (1. 88%) cases. All 3 cases underwent local radical resections, and papillary TDCa was diagnosed based on the pathology examination. Selective neck dissection was chosen in one which was confirmed with cervical lymphatic metastasis. All patients were followed up with no recurrences or metastasis. CONCLUSION The incidence of TDCa is very low and the pathology examination is the only way to confirm the diagnosis. Surgery, especially Sistrunk's procedure, is the treatment of choice, with low complications and recurrence. In the presence of cervical lymphadenopathy, selective neck dissection should be considered.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of endothelin-1 ET-1 in urothelial transitional cell carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemistry was applied to detect ET-1 expression in 30 cases of urothelial transitional cell carcinoma and 20 cases of normal urothelial transitional cell samples, the results were analyzed in combination with clinical data. Results ET-1 expression in urothelial transitional cell carcinoma was 40.5%, which was significantly higher than that in normal urothelial transitional cell samples(P ＜0.05). ET-1 expression was correlated with grade and stage of urothelial transitional cell carcinoma (P ＜0.05). Conclusion The over expression of ET-1 in urothelial transitional cell carcinoma tissues correlates closely with cancer genesis progression and invasiveness, suggesting that ET-1 might be a biomarker and as a therapeutic target in human urothelial transitional cell carcinoma.
