Objective To evaluate the changes in water, electrolyte and acid-base balance after seawater immersion in cases of open abdominal trauma associated with intestinal rupture, and to obtain a theoretical basis for the early treatment of open abdominal injury with intestinal rupture in naval combat. Methods A canine model of open abdominal trauma with intestinal rupture was established in 26 healthy adult dogs, and they were divided randomly into three groups. All animals were subjected to abdominal wall incision and intestinal rupture. Seawater immersion group(n=10) was immersed into artificial seawater after trauma; normal saline solution group(n=6) was immersed into normal saline solution after trauma; control group (n=10) had no immersion. The 3 groups were observed for changes in water, electrolyte and acid-base balance, and the results were analysed and compared. Results Signficant disturbance of water, electrolyte and acid-base imbalance were observed in the seawater immersion groups, but no significant changes of these parameters were seen in the control group and normal saline group. Conclusion Seawater immersion is the main factor leading to the disturbance of body metabolism after open abdominal trauma with intestinal rupture.

Objective To evaluate a protocol of early treatment for dogs suffering from open abdominal injury and seawater immersion. Methods A canine model of open abdominal injury was made with 30 adult health dogs. After 2 hours seawater immersion, the dogs were divided into two groups: treatment group( n =18) and control group(untreated group, n =18). The changes of survival rate, body liquid metabolism and hemodynamics were observed respectively. Results The survival rate significantly increased from 0 in control group to 94 4% in treatment group. The disorder of hemodynamics and body liquid metabolism was improved significantly, P

Objective:To elucidate the possible role of galanin in the development of experimental depression in rats. Methods:Openfield was performed to test the behavior of rats. The changes of the galanin level in different brain areas were determined by RIA. The effect of fluoxetine hydrochloride on galanin level were observed by intraperitoneal injection. Results:Compared to control group, the crossing times and rearing times decreased significantly in depressed rats, galanin level decreased remarkably in plasma, hypothalamus, hippocampus, forebrain, parietal lobe and temporal cortex of depressed rats. Intraperitoneal injection of fluoxetine hydrochloride obviously improved the depressed behavior in rats, increased the galanin level in the hippocampus and forebrain of depressed rats. Conclusion:Hippocampus and forebrain may be involved in the development of experimental depression and in the antidepressive effects of fluoxetine hydrochloride.

Quite a few orthopedics experts have fabricated some novel bone scaffolds with nanotechnology and have carried out some researches on nano-biological effects. The study of the biological effects about nano-biomaterials can facilitate the understanding of the interaction between the biomaterials and the organism, and provide research ideas and direction to construct new biomaterials with physiological function. To better understand the interaction of nano biomaterials with protein, cells and bio-security, this review presents recent advances of biological effects about nano scaffold for bone tissue engineering.

Objective To study the effects and mechanism of p-hydroxyacetophenone (PHA ) on bile secretion ,choles-terol metabolism and blood lipids .Methods Cystic duct cannula was cannulated and bile were collected in SD rats .PHA was administrated in the high cholesterol rats .The activity of HMG-CoA reductase was determined by spectrophotometry in reac-tion system .Samples of liver were obtained in experiment hypercholesterolemia rats and Real-time PCR test was conducted for AQP8 ,CYP7A1 ,OATP and NTCP .Results Secretion of bile were increased ,cholesterol in bile were reduced and secretion of total bile acid were increased in rats by PHA .The level of serum cholesterol in hyperglycemia rat model was reduced signifi-cantly and inhibitory ability had been limited in the activity of HMG-CoA reeducates by PHA ,but the gene transcription inclu-ding AQP8 ,CYP7A1 ,OATP ,and NTCP were promoted ,which are related to function of excretion of biliary acid and trans-formation of cholesterol .Conclusion These results suggest that PHA ,as a lead compound ,might be of significance for fur-ther development for a bile secretory and lipid lowering agent .

Objective To observe the value of MRI in evaluation on the morphology and function of iliococcygeal muscles in fertile and nulliparous women. Methods Totally 50 healthy fertile women (fertile group, further divided into cesarean section subgroup and spontaneous delivery subgroup according to the mode of delivery) and 17 nulliparous healthy women (nulliparous group) underwent MR scanning in both natural and increased abdominal pressure state.Iliococcygeus thickness (ICT),coronal iliococcygeal angle (cICA) and sagittal iliococcygeal angle (sICA) of different states were measured and compared between the groups. Results In the natural state, the right and bilateral average sICA in the fertile group were larger than those in nulliparous group (both P<0.05),while no statistical difference of ICT,right, left and bilateral average cICA and left sICA were found between two groups (all P>0.05);the bilateral average sICA in spontaneous delivery subgroup was larger than that in cesarean section subgroup (P<0.05).In increased abdominal pressure state, left, right sICA and bilateral average sICA in fertile group were larger than those in nulliparous group (all P<0.05),while there was no statistical difference of ICT and cICA between two groups (all P>0.05);no statistical difference of ICT,cICA nor sICA was found between spontaneous delivery subgroup and cesarean section subgroup (all P>0.05).Conclusion MRI can accurately evaluate morphological and functional changes of iliococcygeal muscle in females.
