Epithelial-mesenchymal transition( EMT) refers to the transdifferentiation from epithelial cells to mesenchymal cells. The initial understanding of EMT is originated from the research on embryonic develop-ment,followed by the discovery of EMT phenomenon in physiological and pathological process in multicellular organism. In recent years,the occurrence and development of infiltration and metastasis of tumor cells along with fibrotic diseases that related to EMT are becoming the hot researches nowadays.

Objective To explore the incidence rate and high-risk factors for bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD) in premature infants of mechanical ventilation.Methods From Jan 2008 to Dec 2009,196 very low birth weight infants with gestational age less than 32 weeks in our NICU were enrolled in the study.61 cases had the histories of mechanical ventilation.The clinical materials of 21 cases with BPD were compared to 41 cases without BPD in retrospective analysis.Results The total incidence of BPD in the very low birth weight infants with gestational age less than 32 weeks was 10.7%,and 34.4% in those infants with mechanical ventilation.The gestational age and birth weight of BPD group were lower than those without BPD,and the rates of premature rupture of fetal membrane and complicated neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS),postnatal infection,with long time intravenous nutrition in BPD group were higher than those without BPO control (P<0.05).Gender,asphyxia history,the use of pulmonary surfactant (PS),positive end-expiratory pressure,and mean airway pressure were not different significantly between two groups (P>0.05).Peak inspiratory pressure (PIP),the time of mechanical ventilation and oxygen administration were different significantly between two groups (P<0.05).NRDS,postnatal infection,the duration of ventilation,and hyperoxia were the risk factors for BPD,and the regression coefficient were 3.683,1.541,1.188 and 1.647.Conclusion Preventing premature,low birth weight,NRDS,shortening the duration of high peak inspiratory pressure and hyperoxia with mechanical ventilation and the use of the parenteral nutrition,managing the infection of the prenatal and postnatal are the key points of preventing BPD.

A survey was conducted among 121 health care managers and health workers in community health care institutions with questionnaire and interview.Data on health care conditions in the community and health needs of elderly people were collected and analyzed using principle component analysis method.The priority order of 17 community health care projects for elderly people was ranked with this analysis method and the development strategy of community health service was suggested.

Current studies show that postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy (PORT)may improve local control and overall survival for Ⅲ A-N2 NSCLC.With modern radiotherapy technology and techniques,the adverse effect of PORT is moderate and tolerated.Besides,modern PORT doesn′t decrease the survival.Inves-tigation concerning postoperative target volume for PORT is rare,so that definite agreement has not been reached.Available informations suggest that clinical target volume should include bronchial stump,involved lymph nodes,ipsilateral hilar nodes,subcarinal nodes and ipsilateral lower paratracheal nodes.

The low butanol concentration of acetone-butanol-ethanol fermentation causes uneconomical product recovery. In this work, the effect of small molecule non-ionic surfactants on butanol fermentation was evaluated, using laboratory stocks of Clostridium acetobutylicum ATCC 824. Non-ionic surfactants substantially increased butanol production when additive amount was higher than 1% (W/W). Butanol concentration reached 16.9 g/L with 5% (W/W) Tween 80 and 100 g/L glucose in a 5 L fermenter. It was found that surfactants micelle solubilization capacity to butanol was very limited, indicating that butanol could hardly enter the surfactants micelle. Butanol production improvement was probably caused by cell surface hydrophobicity change due to surfactants adsorption.

Objective To clinically analyze the incidence of early extrapulmonary complications in premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD),including periventricular intraventricular hemorrhage(PVH-IVH),white matter injury(WMI),parenteral nutrition associated cholestasis(PNAC) and metabolic bone disease(MBD),in order to direct the prevention and monitoring of these complications in BPD patients.Methods The clinical data of premature infants who were admitted to the neonatal department between September 2014 and December 2015 was retrospectively analyzed.A total of 87 premature infants diagnosed with BPD were studied as BPD group,while other 90 premature infants without BPD who were hospitalized at the same time were randomly selected as non BPD group.The occurrence of several common extrapulmonary complications was compared between two groups,including PVH-IVH,WMI,PNAC and MBD.Results The incidence of PVH-IVH in BPD group increased compared with non BPD group[(26.4%(23/87) vs 11.1%(10/90)] (P＜0.01),grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ PVH-IVH was more often seen in the BPD group too[24.1%(21/87) vs.11.1%(10/90)](P＜0.05),although the difference between two groups regarding the incidence of grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ PVH-IVH was not significant (P＞0.05).The incidence of WMI in BPD group was much higher than that in non BPD group[33.3%(29/87) vs 16.7%(15/90)] (P＜0.05),especially periventricular leukomalacia,the severe type of WMI,was more often found in BPD group than that in non BPD group[13.7%(12/87) vs 2.2%(2/90)](P＜0.05).The incidences of PNAC[22.9%(20/87) vs 5.5%(5/90)],MBD[17.2%(15/87) vs 3.3%(3/90)] and MBD with imaging changes[6.9%(6/87) vs 0] were all higher in BPD group compared with non BPD group,with significant differences between the two groups (P＜0.05).Conclusion BPD patients are more likely to have early extrapulmonary complications like PVH-IVH,WMI,PNAC and MBD than other preterm infants.It is crucial to prevent these complications reasonably and monitor them regularly for the BPD patients in order to improve the quality of life.

Objective To explore the changes of alveolar morphology and alveolar epithelial cells in rats with hyperoxia-induced chronic lung diseases (CLD). Methods CLD model in neonatal rats was established by inhalation of high concentration oxygen(85%～90% ). Eighty neonatal rats were randomly exposed to hyperoxia (model group) and to room air (control group) (n =40 each). Radical alveolar counts and the alveolar septum thickness were used to evaluate alveolar development. The site and intensity of expression of SPC,AQP5 protein were detected by immunohistochemical staining,the dynamic expression of SPC mRNA,AQP5mRNA was detected by RT-PCR on day 1,3,7,14 and 21 after exposure. Results There were no significant differences about alveolar wall thickness and RAC between experimental groups and control group on day 1～3 ( P > 0. 05 ). But there was significant difference between the model group and the control groups on day 7 and 14 (P <0. 01 ). For model group,alveolar septum thickness peaked on day 21, the difference was significant compared with control group ( 10. 62±5.01 vs 3.62±0. 88, P < 0. 001 ), but RAC decreased to the lowest level, the difference was significant compared with control group ( 3.57±1.24 vs 10. 47±0. 88,P <0. 001 ). The expression of SPC decreased on day 3 manifestedly but increased on day 7 and the levels of SPC were higher than that in the control group. Experimental group showed gradual decrease in AQP5 expression as the lung impairment devastated. Conclusion Alveolar development was delayed and alveolar epithelial cell (AEC) was damaged in the neonatal CLD rats. The changes of SPC,AQP5 expression suggested AECI was severely damaged and failed in full recovery, meanwhile the quantity of AEC Ⅱ was increased but the ability of its differentiation and transformation was decreased.

Objective To report our experience in the embolization of the high-flow vascular lesion in the head and neck by direct percutaneous puncture. Methods Eleven cases of high-flow vascular lesion in the head and neck (8 cases of central hemangioma of the jaws and 3 cases of juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma) were included in this study group. The patients of central hemangioma of the jaws were embolized with coils by a 14-gauge needle, and the fibered coils were placed directly into the center of the intraosseous AVM. The patients of juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma were embolized with NBCA by a No.7 needle. The procedure was under the guidance of DSA machine (Philips V3000). Results The acute arterial bleeding in patients with central hemangioma of the jaws from the extraction of the tooth was controllable, and the pericoronal oozing of bleed disappeared in the 9-24 months follow-up. The juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibromas were resected without blood transfusion after the embolization. Conclusion The embolization of the high-flow vascular lesion in the head and neck by direct percutaneous puncture was effective and safe, however the longer follow-up was expected.

Objective To conduct the preliminary toxicology tests and evaluate the preservation effect on a new specimen preservation solution in order to provide scientific basis for its application security. Methods Twenty-four New Zealand white rabbits were randomly di-vided into the normal saline group, the formalin preservation group,the mixture group,and the new preservation solution group. Recorded the irritation of different solution on the skin,eye of rabbits,the effect of liver sample preservation in different solution,and the evaporation rate of these solution. And to find a set of preservative solution which is more suitable for preservation of specimens and can reduce the cost. Results The new preservation solution is stimulus on rabbit skin and eye,and it is stronger than the formaldehyde group. Compared with the other three groups,the mixture group has the best preservation effect, and the new preservation solution group has a better preservation effect than the formalin preservation solution group. Conclusion The 1∶1 mixture solution of the new preservation solution and formaldehyde is more suitable preservation solution and it can reduce the costs.

Objective To analyze MRI manifestation of the neonatal purulent meningitis retrospectively,including conventional MRI and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI),and to evaluate the value of MRI in early assessment of the neonatal purulent meningitis.Methods From Jul 2004 to Jul 2009,20 full-term newborns (14 male,6 female) from Shengjing hospital were included in this study,all of which were diagnosed as purulent meningitis.MRI and DWI examinations were performed within 72h after the diagnosis.Results (1) Among those 20 infants,19 infants (95%) had positive findings,including 7 cases of cerebral infarction,4 cases of subdural effusion,3 cases of encephalomalacia,1 case of hydrocephalus,1 case of ependymitis and 7 cases of intracranial hemorrhage.(2) Among the 7 cases of infarction,5 cases showed hypointensity on T1WI and hyperintensity on DWI and T2WI,but the other 2 cases only showed hyperintensity on DWI.Conclusion MRI can detect infarction and hemorrhage in the early stage of purulent meningitis.So MRI,especially DWI,is very important for the early diagnosis and evaluation of neonatal purulent meningitis.
