OBJECTIVE:To provide a simple and reliable method to estimate confidence intervals of incremental cost-effectiveness ratios for pharmacoeconomics evaluation in China. METHODS:Through retrieving relevant foreign literature, the idea and mathematical properties of non-parametric Bootstrap method were described and the method for calculating confidence intervals were explained by giving an example. RESULTS&CONCLUSION:Non-parametric Bootstrap method is simple and reliable for the calculation of confidence intervals of pharmacoeconomics. When the distribution of samples is skewed significantly or the sample size is not plenty enough,we still need to be cautious to adopt non-parametric Bootstrap method.

It has been suggested that HCN1 is primarily expressed in hippocampus, however little is known about its effects on spatial learning and memory. In the present study, we investigated the effects of non-specific HCN1 blocker CsCl on spatial learning and memory by using Morris water maze and in situ hybridization in mice. The results showed CsCl 160 mg/kg ip for 4 days, and the mean escape latency was 34 s longer than that of normal control (P<0.01). In hippocampal tissues, staining for the HCN1 mRNA was stronger in the DG and CA1 region of the hippocampus (P <0.05, P<0.05, when CsCl-administration group was compared with normal group). Our results suggested that CsCl could significantly affect the spatial learning and memory in mice, and HCN channel is involved in the process of learning and memory.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the semen quality of cancer patients and search for a better way of sperm cryopreservation for them.
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the quality of the semen from 43 cancer patients under cryopreservation in the Sperm Bank of Zhejiang Province, and compared the semen parameters between the cancer patients and 248 normal donors as well as between the testicular cancer cases (n=22) and non-testicular cancer cases (n=21).
RESULTSThe cancer patients exhibited significantly lower semen quality than the normal donors as in sperm concentration (60.90 x 10(6)/ml vs 74.27 x 10(6)/ml), progressive motility (41.07% vs 51.79%), and recovery rate (49.98% vs 57.33%) (all P <0.05). Furthermore, the progressive sperm motility and sperm recovery rate after freezing were significantly decreased in the testicular cancer cases (15.68% and 42.81%) than in the non-testicular cancer cases (28.36% and 57.53%) (both P <0.05).
CONCLUSIONSemen quality declines in cancer patients, and therefore early sperm cryopreservation is essential for them. Due to the poor sperm motility and recovery rate of testicular cancer patients after freezing, further investigation is required on the improvement of sperm cryopreservation methods.

24 days in mm, V1:the degree of expansion in ml) had linear correlation, E1=(0.86V1?0.60) mm. Conclusion The results of the study demonstrate that CT is an accurate and reliable imaging technique in the evaluation of the degree of expansion of the injured orbit and in the prediction of the possibility of the consequent enophthalmos and its degree. It is significantly helpful to the therapeutic planning for the quantity the retroglobal filling in the rectification of the enophthalmos.

Objective To study the effect of Haikun Shenxi Capsule(HSC)on endothelin-1(ET-1)and mRNA expression of rats with adriamyein-induced nephrosis and proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells(GMCs)cultured in vitro. Methods The rats were randomized into 6 groups, normal group, sham operation group, model group, benazepril group,HSC low-and high-dose groups.Ten weeks after treatment,ET-1 and mRNA expression were measured with immunohistochemical and hybridization in situ method.Tak- ing the Benazepril group as the control group, the proliferation of GMCs was detected with MTT method. Results In the model group,ET-1 and mRNA expression presented a strong positive, compared with which, that of the HSC low-and high-dose groups was remarkably reduced(P

Objective To investigate the techniques and influence factors for the respiratory navigator echo triggered whole-heart coronary MR angiography(WH-CMRA)and evaluate its application in visualizing coronary arteries and the image quality. Methods Ninety two volunteers were acquired with WH-CMRA at 3 T MR scanner using respiratory navigator-echo gated TFE sequence.Imaging quality was visually graded as 0—Ⅳ grade according to the visual inspection, average length, diameter and sharpness of coronary arteries. The correlation between the imaging quality and respiratory pattern, heart rate and navigator efficiency was analyzed. Results The imaging quality in 92 cases was that 28 were graded as Ⅳ, 53 were graded as Ⅲ,9 were graded as Ⅱ and 2 were graded as Ⅰ.The successful rate of scan was 88% (81/92).The imaging quality is mainly graded as Ⅳ when the heart rate was less than 75 beats per minute (bpm)and the sharpness of vessel was(48?11)%.When heart rate was more than 75 bpm,the image quality was mostly graded as Ⅲ and the sharpness was(33?15)%.The correlation between heart rate and imaging quality score was negative(r=-0.726,P0.05).Conclusion 3 T WH-CMRA technique could facilitated the visualization of whole coronary arteries at free breathing but having indications on heart rate.
