Objective To determine the content of two original constituents of Liuwei Dihuang Wan migrating to blood. Methods HPLC- fingerprint of the preparation and drug- containing serum fingerprint were established by RP- HPLC. Based on the fingerprints, the original constituents migrating to blood were identified and determined by comparing with the standard. Results Loganin and paeonol were identified as the original constituents migrating to blood; the loganin content was 0.93? 0.01 mg/g and the paeonol was 0.37? 0.01 mg/g. Conclusion Using the constituent content migrating to blood as the parameter, this method will provide scientific evidence for improving the quality control of Liuwei Dihuang Wan. 

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used to prevent disease for thousands of years. However, the actual value of TCM has not been recognized adequately due to the lack of scientific approaches to its study . Fortunately, metabolomics becomes practically available and consists with the holistic thinking of TCM. The metabolomics can serve as a new strategy for evaluating the efficacy of TCM . This review summarized applications of metabolomics in special TCM field with an emphasis on biomarker discovery.

Objective To prepare poriferous ?-tricalcium phosphate(?-TCP) particles and investigate the possibility of these particles to serve as bone graft and bone tissue engineering scaffold.Methods Poriferous anorganic bone particles were prepared with healthy bovine cancellous bone by removal of cells,defat and double calcination,finally with ?-TCP remained as the main ingredient.A bone defect was made in rabbit's femur,and it was repaired with poriferous ?-TCP bone graft.The results were observed by X-ray,molybdenum target films,fluorescence label and histology at the 4th,8th and 12th week after operation.Results The nature of cancellous bone structure was still maintained in the poriferous ?-TCP bone graft,even retaining its contour after it was transplanted in the bone defect.At the 4th week after operation,the graft was integrated with neighboring tissues,and the new bone gradually grew in the ?-TCP bone graft pores,with delineation of bone defect remaining clear.There was no obvious absorption of the graft,neither growth of soft tissues or bone tissue into the central part.At the 8th week after operation,the soft tissue further grew into the inside of the ?-TCP bone graft,and little bone tissue grew in the central part.At the 12th week after operation,the graft was firmly surrounded with new bone tissue,the demarcation between the graft and new bone becoming obscure,and the graft was partially absorbed,with thickening of bone trabeculae,which extended into the center of ?-TCP bone.However,the speed and quantity of the new bone formation were deteriorated.Histologic examination also found that the ?-TCP bone graft degenerated slowly with passage of time.Conclusion The poriferous ?-TCP bone graft possesses excellent osteogenesis for repairing a bone defect,and may be used as bone tissue engineering scaffold,though its degradation speed should be ameliorated.

Objective To compare activity efficiency of different activators on steady ClO2. Methods Muriatic acid,sodium bisulfate,oxalic acid,citric acid were selected as activator. Their activity rate of steady ClO2 was measured under different pH condition. Results With the decrease of pH,the activity rate of steady ClO2 increased. Objective:To elucidate the etiology of the impairment of myocardial cells in Keshan disease. Methods:With intracellular microelectrode technique, we observed the electrophysiological changes of the eight groups of rats fed separately:normal, low Se, low Se+high VC, low Cr, low Cr+high VC, low Se+low Cr and low Se+low Cr+high VC fodders. Results:Compared with the control, there was no change in low Cr group. However, in low Se group, RP and APA decreased, APD 50 and APD 90 prolonged. In low Se+low Cr group, APA decreased, APD 50 and APD 90 prolonged significantly. In low Se with high vitamin C groups, though RP still decreased, no change had been detected on APA and APD. Conclusion:It is suggested that Se and Cr deficiency may jointly change the electrophysiological properties of myocardial cells significantly. However, vitamin C may protect myocardial cells against the injury effectively.

This paper summarized the treatment of different regular treatment combined with fire needling for vitiligo in clinic.

Objective To develop a method for simultaneous determination of 4 compounds in Zhizhu Pills by HPLC.Method Reversed-phase HPLC was used to determine the content of the compounds such as hesperidin,naringin,neohesperidin and atractylenolideⅠ.The column was symmetry C18(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) with temperature of 30 ℃.Methanol-0.095 %phosphoric acid solution served as the mobile phase by gradient elution.The wavelength of detection was set at 283 nm and 224 nm.The injection volume was 10 ?L and the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min.Results Hesperidin,naringin,neohesperidin and atractylenolideⅠin Zhizhu Pills can be isolated completely.Three batches of samples were determined and the recoveries of naringin,hesperidin,neohesperidin and atractylenolideⅠwere 98.81 %(RSD=1.11 %,n=6),100.63 %(RSD=1.90 %,n=6),99.32 %(RSD=1.44 %,n=6) and 99.65 %(RSD=1.53 %,n=6) respectively.Conclusion This method is accurate,reliable and with good reproducibility.It can be used for the quality control of Zhizhu Pills.

Aim To establish a set of consummate evaluation methods of animal models which are with syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine.Method By means of 2,4-dinitrophenol-induced fever syndrome model for the entry point,making use of meta bonomics as the platform,through analyzing metabolic fingerprint data of rat urine in the control and model group and metabolome of rat urine in model group at different time intervals,to approach the evaluation methods of animal models.Results Through research by metabonomics,the results showed that 2,4-dinitrophenol-induced animal models consisted with clinical fever syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine.Conclusion Metabonomics can be used for evaluation studies of animal models which are with syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine.
