Objective To explore the changes of the survival quality in stomach cancer patients before and after surgery and its influencing factors.Methods The patoents with stomach cancer have been diagnosed in 202 cases,through the QLQ-C30 scale before another opponent live quality investigation,as well as many variables (conditional Logistic regression) method,the life quality of correlation factors of gastric cancer patients were anelyzed.Results Compared with before treatment,after a month QLQ-C30 various quality of life index compared to baseline state basic recovery,the difference was not statistically significant ( P ＞ 0.05 ),and a week after QLQ-C30 various quality of life index and before treatment is statistically significant ( all P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusion Gastric cancer patients before and after surgery survival influence factors on the quality of the main factors for the population sociology characteristics,social support,male,operation methods and medical expenses,should strengthen the psychological and social function of patients to improve.

Objective To evaluate the preoperative diagnosis and treatment of primary duodenal adenocarcinoma ( PDA). Methods Clinical data of 89 PDA cases undergoing laparotomy from 1985 to 2009 in three hospital in Beijing and Zhengzhou were analyzed retrospectively. Results The prevalence rate of PDA is comparatively low and its clinical manifestations are not specific. The correct diagnostic rate of auxiliary examination were 93% by endoscopy,90% by gastrointestinal X-ray air barium double radiography,82% by MRCP,42% by BUS,70% by CT/MRI. The most common location of the adenocarcinoma(65% ) was at the second portion of the duodenum. Among 67 PDA cases 48 cases underwent pancreatoduodenectomy, 19 cases received segmental deodenectomy. The 5 year's survival rate was 47% and 50% respectively. Conclusions Endoscope and X-ray radiography are mainstays for the diagnosis of PDA. Early diagnosis and radical operation are the key to improve the resection rate and the long term survival.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are the common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. The constitutive activation of KIT is one of the earlies ttransforming events in GISTs and occurs mainly through activating mutations in the kit gene. PDGFRa is associated with the pathogenesis of GISTs too. The main mutative site of KIT gene are exon11, exon9, exon13 and exon17 and those of PDGFRA are exon18, exon12 and exon14.The clinical parameter and the response to imatinib of GISTs are associated with the site and type of gene mutation. Imatinib mesylate is a small-molecule inhibitor that selectively inhibit the tyrosine kinase and the clinical use of it is one milestone of the targeted therapy of GISTs. We review the gene mutation and targeted therapy development of gastrointestinal stromal tumors in this article.

Objective To investigate the effect of vitamin E on progression of breast cancer tumor and to explore its underlying mechanism.Methods Human Breast cancer cells MCF-7 were inoculated into mice to establish mouse model of breast cancer and MCF-7 cell was cultured in vitro.Reactive oxygen species (ROS)level and p53 expression were determined by fluorescence probe CM-H2DCFDA and Western blot respectively.In addition,proliferation of human breast cancer cells MCF-7 was observed after transfected by siRNA targeting p53.Results Supplementing the diet with vitamin E markedly increased tumor progression and decreased ROS level and p53 expression in tumor tissue.Supplementing the culture medium with trolox significantly accelerated the growth of MCF-7 and decreased ROS level and p53 expression in tumor cells.p53-siRNA could eliminate p53 expression in MCF-7 and increase the proliferation of MCF-7 cells.Conclusion Vitamin E can accelerate breast cancer tumor progression by reducing ROS level and decreasing the expression of p53 in tumor cells.
