1.The Protective Effect of Ethyl Acetate Extract from Japanese Artactylodes Rhizome on Myocardial Ischemical Reperfusion Injury in Rats
China Pharmacy 2007;0(36):-
OBJECTIVE:To study the protective effect of ethyl acetate extract from Japanese Artactylodes Rhizome on myocardial ischemical reperfusion injury in rats and its possible mechanism. METHODS:50 Wistar rats were divided randomly into 5 groups:sham group, model group, medicine (ethyl acetate extract from Japanese Artactylodes Rhizome at dosage of 200mg?kg-1 and 400mg?kg-1,respectively) group and verapamil(positive medicine) group. Rats in medicine group, model group and positive group were subjected to myocardial ischemia for 40min followed by reperfusion for 30 min, then muscular tissues were sampled for the determination of the activity of GSH-Px, the content of mitochondrial calcium (Mit-Ca2+),and the activities of Na+-K+-ATPase and Mg2+-ATPase in myocardium. RESULTS:As compared with model group, in the group treated with ethyl acetate extract from Japanese Artactylodes Rhizome 30min after reperfusion, the activity of GSH-Px was significantly higher, the content of myocardial mitochondrial calcium was significantly lower, and the activities of Na+-K+-ATPase, Mg2+-ATPase were significantly higher.CONCLUSION:The protective effect of ethyl acetate extract from Japanese Artactylodes Rhizome on myocardial ischemical reperfusion injury might be achieved through enhancing the activity of myocardial GSH-Px, lowering the content of myocardial mitochondrial calcium and enhancing the activities of Na+-K+-ATPase and Mg2+-ATPase of cellular membranes.

Aim To study the effect of [P-(1-Benzotriazole methl)-Benylacrylic acid sodium, abbreviated for BMBS] on experimental arrhythmias. Methods Arrhythmias models induced by drugs in animals were used to observe the effect of BMBS on experimental arrhythmias. Results BMBS 25,12.5 mg?kg -1 iv markedly increased the dose of aconitine for inducing Ventricular premature beats (VP), ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) in rats, as well as that of ouabain for inducing VP, VT, VF and cardiac arrest (CA) in guinea pigs. Also, it postponed the onset time and shortened the duration of arrhythmias induced by barium chloride in rats and decreased the number of animals showing biphasic arrhythmias. Conclusion BMBS has significant effect on experimental arrhythmias.

Objective To analyze the index of relative apparent diffusion coefficient (rADC)of magnetic resonance diffusion weighted imaging (DWI)for nasopharyngeal carcinoma with cervical metastatic lymph node before and after treatment, assess the application value of rADC in the recent curative effect after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Methods 45 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with cervical metastatic lymph nodes proved pathologically were selected as the research objects, which was including 107 pieces of metastatic lymph nodes and underwent DWI.The rADC index of cervical metastatic lymph nodes before and after radiotherapy and chemotherapy was measured and calculated. The cervical metastatic lymph nodes were divided into effective group (CR+PR,n=84)and ineffective group(SD+PD,n=23),and the difference of the rADC index between the two groups was compared. Results For the target volume disappeared or reduced more than 30% in the effective group after treatment, the rADC index was significantly higher than that before treatment(t=4.981, P<0.05).The rADC difference between effective group and ineffective group was statistically significance (t=3.471,P<0.05).Conclusion rADC can be used as the auxiliary marker for the evaluation of short-term curative effect of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with cervical metastatic lymph nodes.

Tooth extraction is a common and widely employed therapeutic procedure in oral and maxillofacial surgery.Minimally invasive tooth extraction can reduce both physical and psychological trauma to the patients, and is widely recommended as a first-line clinical treatment. But currently no guidelines or consensus has been available to provide a systematic introduction of minimally invasive tooth extraction to guide the clinical practices. To address this issue, this consensus, based on a comprehensive literature review and clinical experiences of experts, systematically summarizes the indications, target patients, and contraindications of minimally invasive tooth extraction, the overall workflow of this procedure(preoperative preparation, surgical steps, postoperative management, postoperative instructions, medications, and follow-up),and its common postoperative complications to provide a comprehensive guidance for clinical application of this technique.
