Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge，attitude and behaviors (KAB) of rural residents. Methods A correlative-descriptive design was used for the study. A cluster sampling of 1952 rural residents aged 18-60 years old in 8 villages of Lantian county was selected. Results The results showed as follows. The total correct rate of knowledge was 50.9%; 43.5% believed that the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in China indicated decline of the moral value; 71.3% never use condom when having sex in the past;There were positive relationships between knowledge and attitude,using condoms during sex and using condoms during first sex respectively (P<0.01). Conclusion The attitude and behavior on HIV/AIDS of the rural residents are largely determined by their knowledge.

Objective: To extract and determine the flavonoids of hawthorn fruits and their antioxidative effect. Method: The ultrasonic method was used for extracting flavonoids. The content of flavonoids was determined by spectrophotometry, and the antioxidation effect was determined by flow-injection chemiluminescence.. Results and Conclution: The recovery rate was 96%～105% and the coefficient of variation was 0.14 % by spectrophotometry. Hawthorn fruits had high antioxidative effect, showing dose-response relation.

Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) usually occurs during normal pregnancy or a few days after delivery. The gold standard of diagnosis is the reversibility of cerebral vascular constriction confirmed by digital subtraction angiography (DSA). In this article, we descried the clinical and imaging features of one RCVS case proved by repeating DSA, and discussed the probably pathophysiological mechanisms.

Objective To explore the effects of Buyang Huanwu decoction(BYHWD)on expressions of nuclear factor-κB p65(NF-κBp65)and its inhibitor( I-κB)in signal transduction of NF-κB in brain tissue of rats with focal cerebral ischemia injury. Methods 180 Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were randomly divided into normal group,sham-operated group,model group,pynolidine dithiocarbamate(PDTC)group,minocycline(MC)group and BYHWD treatment group,each group 30 rats. The rats of PDTC group were given PDTC 100 mg?kg-1?d-1 by intra-peritoneal injection. In MC group,MC was given by filling the stomach,the dose was 2.35 g?kg-1?d-1,the drug solution was prepared by adding the distilled water,and the total volume of drug solution to fill the stomach was kept at the same volume in various groups,thus the concentration of the drug was different. In BYHWD group,BYHWD was given,the dose was reduced to 5 g?kg-1?d-1 according to the body surface area dose conversion formula about people and animals. In sham-operated group and model group,the distilled water was given in the same volume as other drug solution. The protein expression levels of NF-κBp65 and I-κB in ischemic tissues were examined by using immunohistochemical method on the time points 7,14 and 21 days after treatment in each group. Results Compared with model group, the cell numbers with expression of NF-κBp65 in PDTC group,MC group and BYHWD group were significantly decreased along with the prolongation of therapy time,the decrease in number was more and more,until 21 days,it reached the valley level(cell/400 times HP:44.00±6.91,45.33±6.55,18.67±2.14 vs. 126.00±5.78,all P<0.05);the number of cells with expression of I-κB was obviously increased,the differences being statistically significant(all P<0.05),but the differences in expression of NF-κBp65 among the treatment groups at the different time points were not statistically significant(all P>0.05). After treatment for 7 days,the number of cells with positive expression of I-κB protein in BYHWD group was less than that in MC group(cell/400 times HP:55.00±3.40 vs. 72.50±4.29,P<0.05);after treatment for 14 days,the number in BYHWD group was approximately the same as that in the MC group, the difference being not statistically significant(93.50±6.15 vs. 93.00±6.20,P>0.05),and after treatment for 21 days,the number in BYHWD group was significantly higher than that in MC group(88.83±4.95 vs. 71.17±7.16, P<0.05). Conclusion BYHWD can regulate the expressions of inflammatory cytokine I-κB and NF-κB in signal transduction of NF-κB in ischemic brain tissue to inhibit the inflammatory reaction,thus it has the protective effect on cerebral ischemia.

Objective To explore the roles and functions of the community nurses in community health service centers and their main work content in Xi′an. Methods A total of 320 community nurses in Xi′an were investigated by General Information Questionnaire and revision of Community Nurses′Roles and Functions Questionnaire. Results The work often undertaken by community nurses were: health education, community prevention, providing direct care and chronic disease management, however, the hospice care, care for people with mental disorders, family planning guidance and rehabilitation nursing were seldom involved. The scores of each role from high to low were as follows:the organizers and managers, coordinators and partners, health educators, caregivers, observer and researcher and spokesman with(2.56±0.99),(2.43±0.97), (2.38±0.84),(2.34±0.87),(2.29±0.10),(2.07±0.99) points. Conclusions The job of community nurses in Xi′an includes the medical service, disease prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation and health education etc. However, the well done jobs only are limited to some of simple functions, such as health education and health guidance are done well. The work of hospice care and mental care which need more professional abilities and interpersonal cooperation need to be promoted.

Objective To explore the Chinese medicine syndrome characteristics of mild cognitive impairment (MCI).Methods The papers of MCI syndrome research were reviewed and collected in China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wan Fang Data and VIP Data from January of 1990 to December of 2014.Statistical analysis was made on the Chinese medicine syndrome types and syndrome factors.SPSS 17.0 software was adopted to make cluster analysis.Combined with experts' experience,related symptoms to the syndrome factors were carried out.Results Totally 32 papers were included.Mter terminology normalization,there were 24 syndrome types of MCI.Top 5 syndromes with high frequency were syndrome of orifices confused by phlegm,syndrome of deficiency of kidney essence,syndrome of deficiency of both Qi and blood,syndrome of internal exuberance of heat toxin and syndrome of blood stasis blocking brain.In syndrome factors of disease location type,kidney and brain covered the highest proportion,30.83％ and 30.00％.In syndrome factors of disease cause and character types,Qi deficiency covered the most,16.50％.According to results of cluster analysis,combined with experts' experience,15 syndrome factors were extracted,including 69 symptoms.Conclusion Chinese medicine syndrome types of MCI were mainly syndrome of orifices confused by phlegm and syndrome of deficiency of kidney essence.The disease locations were mainly kidney and brain.The disease character was Qi deficiency.

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics,distribution and drug sensitivity of pathogens causing intravenous catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs) in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) so as to use antibiotics reasonably.Methods All patients with CRBSIs in PICU of Guangdong General Hospital from September 2009 to September 2014 were investigated and the drug resistance profiles of pathogens causing CRBSIs were also analyzed retrospectively.Results Between 2009 and 2014,there were totally 10 834 catheter days and 23 episodes of CRBSIs with an incidence of 2.1 infections per 1 000 catheter days.Catheter indwell time ＜ 7 days in 9 cases (39.1％),8 to 14 days in 10 cases (43.5％),14 to 21 days in 4 cases (17.4％).There were 13 strains (56.6％) of gram-positive bacteria,5 strains (21.7％) of gram-negative bacteria and 5 strains (21.7％) of fungi.The main pathogens causing CRBSIs were coagulase negative Staphylococci (7 strains,30.4％),Staphylococcus aureus (3 strains,13.0％),Candida albicans(3 strains,13.0％),Candida parapsilosis(2 strains,8.7％),and Enterobacter cloacae (2 strains,8.7 ％).The susceptibility to Vancomycin,Linezolid and Teicoplanin of coagulase negative Staphylococ cus such as S.epidermidis and to Imipenem,Piperacillin/Tazobactam,Cefoperazone/ Sulbactam and Amikacin of gram-positive bacteria arrived at 100.0％,respectively.The candida were 100％ susceptible to Amphotericin B,5-Flucytosine,Fluconazole and Voriconazole.Twenty-one cases (91.3％) received antibiotic treatment versus no antibiotic in 2 cases (8.7％).The average number of antibiotic kinds administered on the patients with fungal infection was 4.4,bacteria were 1.4.Ten cases (43.5％) treatment with 1 kind of antibiotic,4 cases (17.4％) with 2,4 cases (17.4％) with 3,5 cases (21.7％) with more than 3.Twenty-two cases (95.7％) cured and 1 case died (4.3％).Conclusions The major species of pathogen causing CRBSIs was coagulase negative staphylococci in PICU.It is critical for clinicians to guard against fungal infection because of prolonged catheter indwelling time and more antibiotics administered before indwelling catheter.It is effective way to prevent the CRBSIs by reasonably using antibiotics and shortening the time of catheter indwelling.Monitoring CRBSIs pathogenic bacteria distribution and drug susceptibility helps reasonable administration of antibiotics in the earlier time.

Objective To study the value of relative cerebral blood flow(rCBF)changes in patients with amnestic-type mild cognitive impairment (aMCI)and mild Alzheimer disease(AD) using MRI pulsed arterial spin labeling(PASL).Methods A prospective study recruited 37 aMCI patients (aMCI group),30 mild AD patients(mild AD group) and 30 healthy volunteers (normal control group) from March 2011 to December 2013,MRI using PASL for cerebral perfusion imaging was performed and data of rCBF were collected.Taking age as covariate,analysis of variance (ANONA)was carried out to assess the difference of rCBF among all the three groups,then Bonferroni was done between every two groups.A follow-up examination using PASL was performed in the seventeen patients of the aMCI group.And paired t-test was used for comparing the longitudinal change of their rCBF data.Results Compared with the normal control group,the aMCI group showed significant increase of rCBF in bilateral posterior cingulate cortices and precuneus (cluster number 2 785,P＜0.05).While the mild AD group showed decrease of rCBF in the left inferior and superior parietal lobes,the angular,middle frontal lobe,as well as the right superior temporal lobe (cluster number 3 459-5 206,P＜0.05).When compared with the aMCI group,the mild AD group showed regional hypoperfusion in bilateral middle frontal lobes,the left precuneus,the right postcentral and inferior parietal lobe (cluster number 3 236-19 863,P＜0.05).In the longitudinal study of the 17 aMCI patients,an increased rCBF was found to coexist with reduced rCBF in the left inferior frontal and lateral occipital cortex,bilateral frontal poles and paracingulate gyrus,with hyperperfusion dominated.Increased rCBF was also detected in the left temporal lobe,the angular gyrus and precuneus,while decreased rCBF was present in the left putamen,the operculum and right corpus callosum (P＜0.05).Conclusions ASL perfusion imaging is a valuable method for dynamic monitoring of the cerebral perfusion changes in aMCI and AD patients.PASL will assist in finding a useful imaging biomarker for early diagnosis of AD.

AIM:To investigate the effect of ionizing radiation on epithelial-mesenchymal transition in lung cancer cell line A549 and its possible mechanism.METHODS:The lung cancer A549 cells were irradiated with different doses (0 Gy, 1 Gy, 2 Gy, 4 Gy and 8 Gy) of X-ray for different time.The morphological changes of the cells were observed under inverted microscope at time points of 12 h, 24 h and 48 h.The expression of vimentin, N-cadherin, E-cadherin and transcription factor c-Myc was detected by Western blot at the time points of 12 h and 24 h.RESULTS:After ionizing radiation, the contours of the A549 cells were unclear, the protrusions increased, and the edges were irregular, with fried egg-like collapses.The mesenchymal morphology of the A549 cells was most obvious after irradiation at 8 Gy for 48 h.Compared with 0 Gy irradiation group, the expression of vimentin was down-regulated seemingly 12 h after irradiation, but up-regulated in 2 Gy, 4 Gy and 8 Gy irradiation groups for 24 h, and the most obvious effect was observed in 2 Gy irradiation group (P<0.01).Compared with 0 Gy irradiation group, the expression of N-cadherin was up-regulated in 1 Gy, 2 Gy and 4 Gy irradiation groups for 24 h (P<0.05), while the expression of E-cadherin was not influenced.The up-regulation of vimentin expression in lung cancer cell line A549 was positively correlated with c-Myc expression.CONCLUSION:Ionizing radiation may promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition in the lung cancer cell line A549 by up-regulating the c-Myc expression.

Skeletal maturity can reflect an individual's developmental status and predict their future growth potential, provide clinicians with valuable diagnostic information. In recent years, significant progress has been made in imaging techniques for assessing skeletal maturity. This article aims to review the application status and research progress of X-ray, MRI and ultrasound in assessing skeletal maturity in adolescents and children, with a view of providing clinical reference.
