1.Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy by magnetic resonance imaging
Journal of Practical Radiology 2016;32(3):388-391
Objective To analyze retrospectively MRI features of ectopic pregnancy correlated with pathology. Methods Eleven patients with pathologically proved ectopic pregnancy were enrolled in this study:one with cornual pregnancy, six with interstitial pregnancy, two with tubal isthmus pregnancy, one with ampullary pregnancy, and one with primary abdominal pregnancy.Six under-went MRI plain scan, and five underwent MRI both plain scan and enhancement scan.We evaluated the location, the size, the signal intensity of the gestational sac (GS),vessels around the GS,dilatation tubal, hematosalpinx and hemoperitoneum.Changes of the thickness of the endometrium, functional ovarian cysts and ovarian corpus luteum were also evaluated. Results Among these eleven patients,GSs were detected in ten patients. The locations of the GSs on MRI were corresponding with the results of surgical explora-tion.GS was not detected in only one patient with tubal pregnancy, but hematosalpinx and pelvic hematocele could be seen in MRI. Conclusion MRI is an effective modality for evaluating GS and its adjacent organs. The imaging features of GS and other indirect signs can be helpful to the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy on MRI.

3.Influencial Factors of Quality of Life for Post-stroke Patients
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2007;13(2):120-121
ObjectiveTo explore the factors influencing quality of life (QOL) in post-stroke patients.MethodsThe data of 76 first-stroke patients in three general hospitals at 1 month and 4 months after stroke were selected with Stroke Impact Scale and analyzed with multiple linear regression.ResultsThe influencing factors of patients' QOL at one months after stroke were education background, type of care, gender, pathological regions, marriage and complications. The education background was the most important influencing factor. The influencing factors of 4 months after stroke were rehabilitation nursing, marriage, social support and gender. Rehabilitation nursing was the most important influencing factor.ConclusionThe many factors influence QOL for post-stroke patients and are changed with time.

Objective To explore pathological changes of optic nerve in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE).Methods Established the Wistar rat models of EAE by footpad injection of guinea pig spinal cord homogenates and CFA.Animals were executed 6 days after disease onset, and optic nerves, brains and spinal cords were removed for light(HE staining and LFB staining) and electron microscope pathological analysis. Results Various degrees of inflammation and demyelination of brains and spinal cords were found in the rats of EAE group. All the EAE rats had optic neuropathy mainly manifested as inflammation and demyelination under light microscope.Demyelination changes were more apparente than inflammation in optic nerves.Electron microscope observes decreased number of myelin sheaths and Oligodendrocytes(OLGs),OLGs karyopycnosis and the loosed myelin sheaths and their disassociation from axons were also found nearby. Conclusions Optic neuropathy is obvious in this rat model of EAE,mainly manifested as optic inflammation and demyelination.

Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(05):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the impact on semen quality of Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu) and Chlamydia trachomatis(Ct) infections.METHODS Uu and Ct in semen were detected and the samples of semen were analyzed for 228 cases in infertiliry group and 132 cases in fertility group,The semen quantity, sperm density, survival rate, vitality, liquefacient duration, normal morphologic rate, deformity rate and death rate were compared.RESULTS Among 228 cases in infertility group,173 were positive in Uu and Ct(75.9%),obviously higher than that of fertile males(28.0%).Sperm density, vitality, survival rate and normal morphologic rate in the infertility group were remarkably lower than those of the fertility group(P0.05).CONCLUSIONS The genital infection of Uu and Ct has its impact on the multiple parameters of semen, and semen quality as a whole is decreasing.

BACKGROUND:Studies addressing reconstruction of tooth tissue engineering have shown that tooth structure can be constructed using tissue engineering technology. Tooth root and its periodontal attachment are critical for tooth survival and functions, based on which, whether we can target root tissues with simple structure for tissue engineering construction by bypassing a complex dental tissue engineering concept with the structural integrity?
OBJECTIVE:To construct a tissue-engineered dental root by seeding dental papil a cells, as seed cells, into poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/sodium alginate hydrogel.
METHODS:Rabbit dental papil a cells were isolated and cultured. The cells were then mixed with 1%sodium alginate hydrogel at a final density of 6×109/L. The cellsuspension was seeded into a poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) scaffold with predetermined shape of human tooth and solidified with calcium chloride. Final y, the cel-scaffold composites were subcutaneously implanted into the back of nude mice. The specimens were harvested after 4 and 8 weeks respectively and processed for gross inspection, X-ray and CT examination and histological observation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The newly formed tissue kept the original shape of human dental root 4 and 8 weeks post-implantation. After 4 weeks of implantation, the specimen density was low;the root implants appeared to be incompletely mineralized, alginate hydrogels were degraded, but the copolymer scaffold was not degraded;a number of dentin-like structure appeared, and a fibrous membrane structure was visible on the surface of specimens paral el to the root surface, but the structure was not continuous, and no pulp cavity formed. After 8 weeks, the newly formed tissue was highly mineralized close to root tissue of the nature tooth;the copolymer scaffold was mostly degraded;specimens appeared to have a large number of mature dentin-like structure, and form continuous fibers membrane on the surface paral el to the root surface, below which, cementum-like structure formed. Artificial dental root with biological y similar structures of human dental roots can be constructed using the method of tissue engineering.
