Objective To explore the prognostic factors influencing the short-term outcome in patients with acute cerebral in-farction through the prospective study for guiding clinical treatment .Methods 92 patients with acute cerebral infarction were in-cluded in the study ,whose neurological functions were assessed via National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and compu-ted tomography or magnetic resonance imaging performed within 24 h of symptom onset .All of the patients were administered with same medication regimen for acute cerebral infarction .The NIHSS and the modified Rankin Scale were used to assess the extent of disability at 15 d after admission .Multivariable logistic regression was used to analyze the associations between different factors and the two 2 prognostic factors respectively .Results When the difference of two NIHSS scores was treated as the dependent variable , the infarction volume was associated with the difference in multivariable regression ,the OR of the two groups with larger Infarction volume OR=2 .352 and OR=5 .161 ;When the Rankin Scale scores were treated as the dependent variable ,the outcome in rehabili-tation group was better than those in no rehabilitation group (OR=0 .207) .Patients with the greater baseline NIHSS scores had the worse prognosis ,the OR of the two groups with larger score OR=1 .257 and OR=1 .032 .The age ,gender ,admission time as well as infarction area were not significantly associated with clinical prognosis .Conclusion The baseline NIHSS scores and infarct vol-ume were independent prognostic factors for the short-term outcome in patients with acute cerebral infarction ,who should obtain re-habilitation treatment to improve prognosis .

Liver resection is the most effective treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) staging system is commonly accepted as a guideline for HCC treatment, but it only recommends liver resection for the patients with HCC at stage 0 to A1. The surgical indications of the BCLC staging system need to be re-evaluated. 120 HCC patients undergoing curative liver resection were retrospectively stratified to the BCLC staging system, and the survival of the patients at stages A, B and C was analyzed. The justification of the BCLC staging system was re-evaluated. Fifty-two patients were classified at stage A, 51 at stage B and 17 at stage C respectively. The hospital mortality of this cohort was zero and the morbidity was 24.1%. The 1-, 2-, 3-year overall survival rate of this cohort was 81.6%, 68.3%, and 57.5% respectively. There was no significant difference in the survival rate between the patients at stage A and B (P>0.05). If the treatment guidelines of BCLC staging system were followed, the majority of the patients at stages A and B (77.7%, 80/103) would not have been treated surgically. Our data suggest that the surgical indications of the BCLC staging system are not justified for HCC treatment. More studies may be needed as for how to further broaden the surgical indications of the BCLC staging system in the future.

Objective To investigate the hematological characteristics of patients with light β- thalassae-mia and rapidly identify different mutational genotypes. Methods RBC、Hb、MCV、MCH、MCHC、RDW-CV and HbA2 were studied in the 646 patients, the differences between β0/βN and β +/βN mutations were also compared. Results Most of them were microcytic hypochromic anemia. The most common genotype were β654/βN(33%)、β41-42/βN(32.5%)、β17/βN(14.4%)、β - 28/βN(10%)respectively,β0/βN were relatively higher. The differences in RBC、MCV、MCH、RDW-CV and HbA2 were significant between β0/βN and β +/βN. Compared with β +/βN patients, the MCV and MCH of β0/βN were significantly reduced,RDW-CV and HbA2 were significantly higher. Conclusion Light β- thalassaemia with different genotypes has its own unique hematological features and can be quickly and ef-fectively identified. Clinical efficiency can be improved through hematological analysis.

Scaffold-free tissue engineered cell sheet is an emerging technology in biomedical field. It can avoid the adverse effects of scaffold materials, and can be further assembled to form more complex three-dimensional functional tissues. The construction of cell sheet is mainly based on the culture substrate composed of sensitive materials. By changing the stimulation factors such as temperature, enzyme, light, ion, redox, pH and sugar, the adhesion behavior of the substrate to the cells could be changed to make the cells detach naturally, thus generating the cell sheet. Recent years have seen the development of various simple and efficient construction technologies of cell sheet due to the development of a variety of novel sensitive culture substrates. The resulted cell sheets with excellent performance have greatly expanded their applications. This review summarized the construction methods of tissue engineered cell sheet and discussed the challenges and future perspectives in this field.
