Objective To explore the curative effect of stomatitis spray combined with 3M liquid dressing on degree II red buttocks in infants and summarize key points of nursing care. Methods From April 2012 to June 2016, 64 infants with degree II red buttocks were treated in our department. According to the admission time, the infants were divided into control and experiment groups in equal number. The control group was treated with zinc oxide ointment, and the experiment group with stomatitis spray combined with 3M liquid dressing. The curative effect, total effective rate, and wound healing time were compared after treatment between the groups. Results The curative effect and total effective rate of red buttocks in the experiment group were significantly better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Moreover, the wound healing time in the experiment group was obviously shorter than that of the control (P<0.05). Conclusions Compared to zinc oxide ointment, the stomatitis spray combined with and 3M liquid dressing is more effective in the treatment of severe red buttocks of the infants. Moreover, the latter is advantageous in wound healing time, compliance, treatment, and curative effect, which indicates its potential application in clinic.

Objective: To compare the effect of enteral and parenteral nutrition on critically ill patients. Methods: 48 patients with critically ill in ICU were randomly divided into EN group and PN group. The nutritional index and the complication were compared between groups. Results: The levels of Hb,TP and ALB were significantly increased after EN,and the rates of complications in PN group were higher in PN group than that in EN group. Conclusion: Compared to parenteral nutritional support, enteral nutritional support can improve the nutritional condition and have less complications in critically ill patients.

Migraine is a kind of nerve vascular disease, characterized by hemialgia, moderate and severe, pulsating pain. Acupuncture as a safe and effective analgesic therapy, has been widely used in more than 160 countries and regions around the globe. Treating migraine with acupuncture has certain good features as effective, non-toxic side effects and untoward effect. But its mechanism is still not very clear. The cerebral blood flow study ( CBF study) is currently the most credibility of migraine pathogenesis theory. Now based on the theory of CBF study, this paper discusses the acupuncture treatment of migraine which can provide the basis for clinical treats.

Objective To evaluate the short-term efficacy of lamivudine versus entecavir for patients with HBeAg-negative acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) with different pretreatment liver failure degrees.MethodsA total of patients with HBeAg-negative ACLF were enrolled into this retrospective study.Seventy-two cases were treated with lamivudine 100 mg daily, while 93 cases were treated with entecavir 0.5 mg daily.Biochemical items, model for end-stage liver disease (MELD)score, hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA level and mortality were observed. The efficacies of the two drugs were analyzed in patients with different degrees of liver failure. The comparison of rates was done using chi-square test and the measurement data were compared by t test.ResultsAmong the patients with pretreatment MELD scores above 30,the post-treatment HBV DNA levels in lamivudine group and entecavir group were (3.6 ± 1.1) lg copy/mL and (3.7 ± 1.4) lg copy/mL,respectively (t=0.181,P=0.859) and the mortalities were 92.0% and 91.8%,respectively (χ2 =0.002,P=0.680).For the patients with pretreatment MELD scores from 23 to 30,the post-treatment HBV DNA levels in two groups were (3.2± 1.1) lg copy/mL and (3.2±2.3) lg copy/mL,respectively (t=0.760,P=0.455) and the mortalities were 42.9%,54.1%,respectively (χ2 =0.799,P=0.455).In patients with pretreatment MELD scores below 23,the post-treatment HBV DNA levels in two groups were (3.1±1.0) lg copy/mL and (2.8±1.5) lg copy/mL,respectively (t=-0.740,P=0.464) and the mortalities were 3/19 and 6.3%,respectively (χ2=1.227,P=0.455).In lamivudine group, the mortalities were significantly different among patients with three different ranges of pretreatment MELD scores (χ2 =26.967,P =0.000).The similar differences were also found in entecavir group (χ2 =41.260,P=0.000).ConclusionsAmong treatment na?ve patients with HBeAg-negative ACLF,the short-term efficacy of lamivudine versus entecavir is equal if the degree of pretreatment liver failure is similar.Meanwhile, the degrees of pretreatment liver failure significantly affects the outcome of the treatment.

AIM: To investigate the downstream genes of the transcriptional factor Pax-8 related to cardiopathy. METHODS: The total RNA derived from the heart of Pax-8 KO~(-/-) and Pax-8 KO~(+/-) mice was extracted. Mouse genome DNA microarray containing 31 802 mouse oligonucleotides probes was used to investigate the differential expression between the Pax-8 KO~(-/-) and the Pax-8 KO~(+/-) mice hearts. The candidate genes were confirmed by RT-PCR and real time RT-PCR assay. RESULTS: Microarray results showed that, compared to the Pax-8 KO~(+/-) mice, 25 genes were down-regulated and 17 were up-regulated in the Pax-8 KO~(-/-) mice, concerning metabolize enzymes, cell signal conducting and nuclear transcript factors and so on. Bcl2-like 14 (Bcl2l14) was proved to be up-regulated by RT-PCR. Real time RT-PCR results revealed that Bcl2l14 in the Pax-8 KO~(-/-) mice was 2.07 and 2.23 fold as much as that in the Pax-8 KO~(+/-) and the Pax-8KO~(+/+) mice (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: The Bcl2l14 gene is one of the downstream genes of Pax-8 and probably plays an important role in the mechanism of ventricular septum defect.

BACKGROUND:Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) may be mutated duringin vitro culture based on the spontaneous malignant transformation of adult stem cells and tumor stem cell theory, and there may be a risk of tumorigenesis after in vivo transplantation. Therefore, to establish and perfect the in vitro safety testing procedures will actively promote the clinical application of stem cells. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the tumorigenic mechanism of hUC-MSCs and the expression level of DNA methyltransferase (DNMTs) in hUC-MSCs. METHODS:Primary hUC-MSCs were isolated and expanded by tissue adherent culture. 3-Methycholanthrene was used to cause the malignant transformation in hUC-MSCs (experimental group), followed by morphological observation and tumorigenesis experiment in nude mice. Then, the tumor tissues were obtained and identified by pathological examination and primary cell culture, and the levels of DNMTs mRNA in hUC-MSCs treated with 3-methycholanthrene and dimethyl sulfoxide (control group) were detected by real-time RT-PCR and compared. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:hUC-MSCs treated with 3-methycholanthrene led to malignant transformation, which showed malignant growth and non-integer ploidy changes in the cell nuclei, and formed a malignant tumor in immune-deficient mice after injection. Compared with the control group, the cells in the experimental group showed higher expression of DNMTs mRNA as detected by real-time RT-PCR. To conclude, hUC-MSCs can trigger malignant transformation in the morphology and the epigenetics under certain conditions. DNMTs can be a candidate for prevention against malignant transformation of transplanted stem cells.
