Objective To evaluate effects of transcatheter hepatic arterial embolization(TACE)on spoutaneoua rupture of hepatocellular carcinoma(SRHC).Methods Emergent hepatic arterial catheterization was performed in 38 cases of SRHC,using sponge gelatin,iodized oil and PVA tO embolize blooding arterial branch.Results Blooding was completely cortrolled by TACE in 35 eases,of which one patient died of severe hypohepatia and renal insufficiency 3 days later,and two patients died of misdiagnosis,35 patients remained to be alive after 3 months.33 patients remained to be alive after 6 months.28 patients remained to be alive after 12 months.Conclusion Arterial embolization is a good method for treating SRHC,especially to the patients which could not completdy removal the cancer,its eftect is superior to other surgical operation for hemostasia.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of selective arterial chemotherapy after radiotherapy for advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (stageⅢ,Ⅳa). Methods Sixty patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma were randomized to receive either combined elective arterial chemotherapy and radiotherapy (IACT group, 30 patients) or combined general intravenous chemotherapy and radiotherapy(IVCTgroup, 30 patients). Four weeks after radiotherapy, the effect of two methods was compared. This study was aimed to explore the resource diversity and microbial inhibition activity of endophytic fungi from medicinal plant Plantago asiatica L. The endophytic fungi were isolated from the root, stem and leaf of the host by tissue inoculation culture and five plant pathogenic fungi and four bacteria strains used as indicating microbes to test microbial inhibition activity by agar plate antagonistic action and modified agar gel diffusion methods. The results indicated that thirteen fungal endophytic strains were isolated from the host. Most of them came from stem, then leaf, and root as the least in number. The isolated strains attribute to five genera, two fam-ilies, and two orders based on morphological characteristics. For the isolated strains, eleven of them were found to have some microbial inhibition activities against one or more indicating fungi, making up 84.6% of the total iso-lates. Six isolated strains had some antimicrobial activities against one or more indicating bacteria, amounting to 46.2% of the total isolates. Three isolated active strains, which are PAEFS001, PAEFS007 and PAEFS008, ex-hibited evident inhibition activities against five kinds of pathogenic fungi used in the trials respectively. The strain of PAEFS001 ascribed to Ozonium sp. Both strains of PAEFS007 and PAEFS008 ascribed to Aspergillus sp. One active strain of PAEFS003 showed evident antibacterial activities to Bacillus subtilis and Staphyloccus aureus, which belonged to Fusidium sp. The endophytic fungi from medicinal plant Plantago asiatica L. have evident an-timicrobial activities. Their inhibition activities against pathogenic fungi have relatively broad spectrum. And their inhibition activities to both Bacillus subtilis and Staphyloccus aureus as G+ are evident and have certain selectivi-ty. It is feasible to find new bioactive compounds associated with endophytic fungi from Plantago asiatica L. Fur-ther research and development of the endophyic fungi will be important for the integrated utilization of the host.

Background and purpose:Metabolism change is one of the main characteristics of the tumor de-velopment. Many studies have conifrmed that cytosolic acetyl-CoA synthetase 2 (ACSS2) plays a critical role in hydro-carbon metabolism of cancer cells. This study aimed to explore the effect of ACSS2 on cellular proliferation, apoptosis and migration of A549 cells by RNA interference.Methods:The ACSS2 interference fragment ACSS2-siRNA and neg-ative control were designed and synthesized for RNA interference followed by the transient transfection in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line A549. Real-time lfuorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RTFQ-PCR) was used to detect ACSS2 mRNA expression. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT), lfow cytometry and wound healing assay were used to detect cell proliferation, apoptosis rate and migration.Results:The expression of ACSS2 mRNA was signiifcantly decreased after transfection with the interference fragment ACSS2-siRNA in NSCLC cell line A549. The proliferation and migration activity of ACSS2-siRNA treated cells were decreased significantly compared with the control group. The apoptosis rate, especially the early apoptosis, was increased..Conclusion:Knockdown of the ACSS2 expression in NSCLC cell line A549 can signiifcantly inhibit the cell proliferation, migration ability and pro-mote the apoptosis rate, especially early apoptosis. This study indicates that ACSS2 may contribute to the progression of human lung adenocarcinoma and may have the potential to serve as a novel therapeutic target.

Objective To find biological markers to predict the mathematical cognitive ability in order to set patients free from the pain and time-consuming behavioral tests. Methods 86 patients with stroke or brain traumatic injuries were recruited and acquired T1 and rest-ing-state functional MRI imaging data. And a mathematical task (7 calculation items, 2 counting items) and a word-reading task (140 items) was also finished. The partial correlative analysis was made between the score of mathematical task and the amplitude of low frequency fluc-tuation of each voxel of the whole brain with the word-reading performance as controlling task, and AlphaSim correction method was used with corrected P<0.05 (single voxel level:P<0.05;cluster size:>110 voxels). Results There were 5 cerebral regions whose amplitude of low frequency fluctuation significantly correlated with mathematical performance:left inferior parietal lobule (161 voxels, rpeak=0.34), left precu-neus/superior parietal lobule (141 voxels, rpeak=0.31), left middle temporal gyrus (359 voxels, rpeak=0.34), left middle frontal gyrus (491 vox-els, rpeak=0.36), and right middle frontal gyrus (156 voxels, rpeak=0.32). Conclusion The amplitude of low frequency fluctuation of left inferior parietal lobule, precuneus/superior parietal lobule, middle temporal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus, and right middle frontal gyrus could be used as predictors of mathematical cognitive ability for brain-damaged patients.
