1.Comparison of patient survival on adjuvant FOLFOX6 and XELOX chemotherapy after resection for gastric cancer
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2014;(18):1195-1198
Objective:To compare the survival of resected gastric cancer patient treated with oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and leu-covorin (FOLFOX6) with those treated with oxaliplatin and capecitabine (XELOX). Methods:A total of 147 resected gastric cancer pa-tients accepted the treatment. Among them, 99 were treated with FOLFOX6 and 48 were treated with XELOX. Adverse events and sur-vival rates of the two groups were compared. Results:Incidence of leukopenia and hepatic dysfunction in the FOLFOX6 group was sig-nificantly higher than that of the XELOX group (P<0.05), whereas hand-foot syndrome in the XELOX group was significantly higher than that of the FOLFOX6 group (P=0.016). By contrast, the incidence of other adverse events, such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, nau-sea and vomiting, diarrhea, kidney dysfunction, peripheral neurovirulence, and oral mucositis, was not significantly different (P>0.05) between the two groups. After 1, 3, and 5 years, disease-free and overall survivals between the two groups were not significantly differ-ent (P>0.05). Conclusion:The effects of FOLFOX6 and XELOX adjuvant chemotherapies on long-term survival of resected gastric cancer patients were found to have no significant difference.

Objective To evaluate the role of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling pathway in the spinal cord in neuropathic pain (NP) in the rats. Methods Seventy-two male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 8 weeks, weighing 250-300 g,were randomly divided into 2 groups (n=36 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (S group) and NP group.Spared nerve injury was produced by exposing the sciatic nerve and its branches and ligation and transection of tibial nerve and common fibular nerve in anesthetized rats. The mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) was measured before operation and at 1,4,7,14 and 21 days after operation. After measurement of the pain threshold at 1,4,7,14 and 21 days after operation, the animals were then sacrificed, and the lumbar segment (L46) of the spinal cord was obtained for determination of Shh,Patched (Ptch),Gli1 and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)expression (by Western blot),Shh,Ptch and Gli1 mRNA expression (by fluorescent quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction),and Shh and GFAP expression (by immunohistochemistry). Results Compared with group S,the MWT was significantly decreased, and the expression of Shh,Ptch and Gli1 protein and mRNA and GFAP in spinal cord tissues was up-regulated in group NP (P< 0.05).Shh was mainly expressed in the cytoplasm of spinal dorsal horn neurons and in the gap around glial cells. Conclusion Shh signaling pathway in spinal cord is involved in the development and maintenance of NP in the rats.

Objective To evaluate the preventive effect of compound matrine injection on hepatic lesion caused by chemotherapy. Methods 178 patients after gastric and colorectal cancer resection were enrolled into three groups randomly. 56 patients in group A received MFOLFOX6 regimen treatment only, 62 patients in group B received both normal treatment and combined compound matrine injection,60 patients in group C received both normal treatment and glutathione. The change of liver function were observed. Results There was no the hepatotoxicity of Ⅲ-Ⅳ degree in all groups;the incidence of bilirubin and transaminase increasing in group B and C was significantly lower than that group A(P <0.05), but the incidence of ALP/GGT increasing showing no significant difference among the three groups; 72.7 % of the incidence of hepatic lesion in group A happened firstly before the seventh cycle,it was 27.3 % and 33.3 % respectively in group B and group C, the time of the emerging of hepatotoxicity in group B and C was markedly delayed than that group A (P <0.05); there was not significant difference between group B and group C in both bilirubin and transaminase increasing and the time of the emerging of hepatotoxicity (P >0.05). Conclusion Compound matrine injection can prevent and postpone the happening of hepatic lesion caused by adjuvant chemotherapy after digestive tract cancer resection, The result is equal to glutathione. Compound matrine injection also has antineoplastic effects, so the clinical superiority is more obvious.

Objective To survey the state of internet addiction of vocational college students and explore the effect of perceived social support and loneliness on Internet addiction. Methods In accordance with random cluster sampling, this research used the Revised Chen Internct Addition Scale,Perceived Social Support scale, and UCLA Loneliness Scale to study lnternet addiction among a total of 1 602 vocational college students from three higher vocational colleges in Guangzhou. Results [nternet addiction rate was 9.87%,and Internet dependence rate was 24.78%.Internet addiction had a higher incidence rate among male students than that among female students (x2=19.775,P<0.01).The perceived social support group of vocational college students was low, which indicated serious loneliness based on the Loneliness Scale, and their scores on Internet addiction tendency were higher than those of other groups (P<0.01).The total scores in Internet addiction tendency and perceived social support were negative (r=-0.183,P< 0.01),which indicates positive correlation with loneliness (r=0.243,P< 0.01).The mediating effect of perceived social support and Internet addiction on loneliness was significant, with a mediation rate of 69.63%.Conclusion Internet addiction tendency of vocational college students is a problem that deserves more attention.Low social support and loneliness can increase the incidence rate of internet addiction tendency.Loneliness is also found to be a strong predictor of internet addiction.

Aim To study the growth inhibitory effect of the conjugate ( ovarian cancer specific targeting peptide and cisplatin, OSTP-DDP ) that targeting ovarian cancer cells A2780. Methods Using chemical method to syn-thesize OSTP-DDP, ovarian cancer cells A2780 were cul-tured in vitro, using CCK-8 method ( Cell Counting Kit-8) to detect the growth inhibitory effect of ovarian cancer A2780 cells, which were disposed by OSTP-DDP and DDP. Annexin V-FITC was used to detect the cycle and apoptosis effect of ovarian cancer A2780 cells which were disposed by OSTP-DDP and DDP. Results According to the mass spectrometry and the high performance liquid chromatography ( HPLC ) analysis, OSTP-DDP was proved to synthesize successfully. CCK-8 assay showed that both OSTP-DDP and DDP could play the growth in-hibitory effect and showed a concentration-dependent manner when cells were treated in different concentrations (10,20,40,80,160,320μmol·L-1 ) respectively after 24 h, 48 h, 72 h. And the effect of OSTP-DDP was stronger than DDP (P<0. 05), indicated OSTP-DDP had targeted cytostatic effect. The result of the flow cytometry showed that cell cycle was mostly arrested in G1 phase after 72h treated by OSTP-DDP and DDP, the inhibitory effect of OSTP-DDP was stronger than DDP (P<0. 05). The apop-tosis effect of OSTP-DDP was stronger than DDP ( P <0. 01),suggested that OSTP-DDP had a stronger targeting apoptosis-inducing effect. Conclusion OSTP-DDP has the targeting growth inhibitory effect on the ovarian cancer cell A2780, OSTP as a chemotherapeutic drug targeting vector has a great prospect to treat ovarian cancer.
