Objective To compare the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis between macrophages activation syndrome (MAS) and other hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS). Methods Thirty-six children with HPS were identified at Nanjing Children's Hospital during January 2006 to March 2009. They could be classi-fied into MAS group (13 patients) and other HPS group (23 patients). All relevant clinical features, laboratory data, treatments and outcomes were analyzed with t test,χ2 test and Fisher's exact test. Results Patients with MAS tended to be elder than those with other HPSs [(7.7±1.3) years vs (2.6±0.5)years, t=3.899, P=0.004]. There was no difference in gender distribution. In MAS cases, the central nervous system (69% vs 13%, P=0.001), circulatory system (23% vs 9%, P=0.047) and the urinary system (38% vs 9%, P=0.033) were usually involved. The clinical symptoms of MAS were more sever than other HPS. Serum ferritin [(9703±9819) μg/L vs (4569±1396) μg/L, t=2.854, P=0.015] and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) [(53±32) mm/1 h vs (20±14) mm/1 h, t=2.708, P=0.020] changed more obviously in MAS cases compared with other HPS. Conclusion, Childhood MAS is different from other HPS in terms of age, etiology, clinical manifestations, laboratory tests and treatments.

Objective To explore the antitumor effects and the effect of GFW on the Fas expression in spleen T-lymphocyte of the tumor-bearing mice. Methods The S180 mice sarooma model was used to detective the inhibiting effects of GFW,the Fas expression in spleen T-lymphocyte between the normal group, the model group, the GFW group and the CY group were analyzed by the flow cytometry. Results For S180 sarcoma, the inhibiting ratio of GFW is 38.93%.The protein expression of Fas showed to rise in the the model group and the CY group. There was significant difference between them and normal group(P0.05).Conclusions GFW has the antitumor function and can adjust immune through inhibitor the apoptosis of T-lymphocyte.its mechanism maybe closely related with adjusting expression levels of the Fas expression in spleen T-lymphocyte to normal.

9).Renal pathology revealed 3 patients with class Ⅳ, 1 patient with class Ⅱ. Image results showed diffuse pulmonary infiltration lesions. Bronchial lavage fluid was hemorrhage. Three patients recovered after treatment with corticosteroid and intravenous cyclophosphamide therapy. Conclusions Diffuse alveolar hemorrhage is rare serious complications of lupus nephritis. Aggressive immunosuppressive therapy should be started early for a favorable outcome.

The concepts of cold and hot herbal properties in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), reflecting the efficacy trends of medicinal herbs, have the Fuzzy characteristics. It is suited for the application of Fuzzy mathematics in research of herbal properties. For a comprehensive evaluation of herbal properties, this work constructed and made a practice of the Fuzzy discrimination model regarding the biological performance of Chinese materia medica.

The properties of Chinese materia medica are believed to be the summarization of the effects of biological performance on the various body states. Systemic discussion of chemical-factor elements, body-condition elements, biological-performance elements and their interrelationships is needed for research into the properties of Chinese materia medica. Following the practical characteristics of Chinese medicine, the three-element mathematical model was formed by introducing some mathematical concepts and methods and was used to study the cold or hot property of Chinese medicine, and to investigate the difference in biological performances of the two properties.

Objective To determine the changes of heart structure and function in early stage after lung transplant and to study the relationship between decreased pulmonary artery pressure and changes of heart structure and function. Methods 45 cases of lung transplant recipients were included in the study, their preoperative and postoperative echocardiography data were reviewed, and the postoperative early changes of cardiac structure and function were analysed. Then, the Pearson correlation analysis was used to compare the relationships between the decrease of pulmonary artery pressure and the changes of cardiac structure and function. Results After lung transplant, pulmonary artery systolic pressure(PASP) decreased significantly [(62.3 ± 27.2) vs (36.20 ± 7.8)mm Hg,P <0.01],and right ventricular dimensions zoomed down, tricuspid valve and pulmonary valve regurgitation reduced, left atrial diameter (LAD) and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDD) were enlarged, stroke volume (SV) increased [(43.85 ± 14.78) vs (58.68 ± 13.85)],but left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was decreased [(69.31 ± 7.50)% vs (62.82 ± 8.12) %],those differences above were statistically significant (P < 0.05) compared with preoperative echocardiography date.Pearson linear correlation analysis show that after lung transplantation the more decreased PASP,the more increased LAD and LVDD,and the more decreased LVEF (P <0.05).Conclusions In early stage after lung transplant, the structure of right ventricular was quickly normalized, the function of right ventricular improved,LAD enlarged,SV increased, but left ventricular function reduced, there were a linear correlation between those changes and PASP reduced.Echocardiography has good reference value for early lung transplant patient.
