It is hypothesized that H 2S is the third endogenous signaling gasotransmitter, after NO and CO. Endogenous H 2S may regulate some aspects of synaptic activity via cAMP mediated pathways and function as a neuromodulator or transmitter. H 2S is an endogenous vasorelaxant factor that activates K ATP channels and hyperpolarizes membrane potential of vascular SMCs. By directly acting on vascular SMCs, H 2S may reduce the extracellular calcium entry and relax vascular tissues.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women. Current clinical prognostic indicators and practice guide-lines show that almost 70% of node-negative and 30% of lymph node-positive breast cancer patients can survive 5-10 years without dis-tant metastasis after surgery. Patients also unnecessarily suffer the side effects of chemotherapy. Assays on multi-gene expression levels as prognosis prediction indicators have been successfully used to predict the prognosis of breast cancer patients because of the abnor-mal expression levels of a series of metastasis-related genes in cancer cells with high metastatic potential. In this review, we highlight the progress of research on predicting breast cancer prognosis based on multi-gene expression levels detected by microarray and qRT-PCR methods.

Objective: To understand current situation and existing problems in financial security of the center for disease control and prevention system in Jiangxi, to provide scientific references for advancing continuous, fast and healthy development of the system. Methods: combining three methods of questionnaire, group discussions and field surveys to investigate the situation of financial income from 112 centers of disease control and prevention in Jiangxi. Results: The government finance investment increased by year, but the funds of daily work and personnel is insufficient, public and regular business funds of some institution still depend on paid service income. Conclusion: It needs to further enhance financial structure adjustment and disease control investment, increase disease control input, change government appropriation method for disease prevention and control institutions, change the government ’ s funding mode to “purchase system” , reasonably pricing public product, the government on behalf of the people buying services according to quality and quantity from the disease prevention and control institutions.

AIM To investigate the poteintation of adriamycin induced apoptosis by neferine in resistant human breast cancer cell line MCF 7/Adr. METHODS Apoptosis was detected by PI stain flow cytometry and Tunel assay. The intracellular adriamycin (ADR) accumulation was assayed by HPLC and the expression of P gp was determined by flow cytometry. RESULTS (1)MCF 7/Adr cells resisted the apoptosis induced by ADR while Nef augmented ADR medidated apoptosis; (2) Nef (10 ?mol?L -1 ) increased the accumulation of ADR up to 2 88 fold in MCF 7/Adr cells but not in sensitive cells MCF 7/S; (3) Nef(10 ?mol?L -1 ) reduced the expression of P gp in MCF 7/Adr cells. CONCLUSIONS Nef can overcome apoptosis resistance in MCF 7/Adr cells and its mechanisms are involved in the augment of ADR accumulation and the down-modulation of P gp expression in MCF 7/Adr cells.

Objective To develop a suicide ideation scale for Chinese military.Methods Based on the analysis of literatures and the established ideation scale, the theory structure of suicide ideation scale was constructed and a scale was developed regarding to the results of specialists evaluation.Then 900 soldiers including navy, army and air force were picked out randomly as samples from a military region.The data Was submitted to factor analysis and to test the reliability and validity of the scale.Results The whole suicide ideation scale Was constitute of three factors, such as despair, depression and optimism.Correlation coefficient between each factor and the total score ranged from 0.679 to 0.913,Correlation coefficient between the scale and Suicidal Possibility Scale Was 0.620,the coefficient of stability was 0.904.the Cronbaeh α of each factor ranged from 0.750～0.894.Conclusion The scale proves to be applicable to Chinese military in evaluating their suicidal ideation.

The mitochondrial energy redox state was measured by MTT assay. The mitochondrial membrane potential(△?m) was investigated by the fluorescent probe of rhodamine 123.Results PC12 cells exposed to 50 ?mol?L -1 DA showed chromatin condensation and nucleus fragmentation observed by electron microscope. Objective To investigate the clinical application value of endotoxin and (1-3)-β-D glucan detection in the patients with acute pancreatitis(AP).Methods The MB-80 microbiology rapid dynamic detection system was applied to detect the concentration of plasma LPS and (1-3)-β-D glucan in the patients with AP.Then the results were analyzed.Results Among 184 cases of AP complicating peripancreatic abscess and bilateral lung infection,endotoxin G-lipopolysaccharides positive was in 23 cases,the average value was 394.07 pg/mL,the positive rate was 10.87%,and 15 cases of Gram-negative bacterial infection were verified by the microorganism culture.Among 175 cases of AP complicating peripancreatic abscess and bilateral lung infection,67 cases were(1-3)-β-D glucan positive,the average value was 93.22 pg/mL,the positive rate was 38.29%,which were with the positive rate of serum(1-3)-β-D glucan in the non-AP group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the microorganism culture or smear verified that 22 cases were fungal infection.Conclusion Plasma endotoxin and (1-3)-β-D glucan detection provides the laboratory biological indicator and is conducive to the assessment of AP infection severity and clinical medication.

Objective To identity the risk factors for supine hypotension syndrome (SHS) after spinal anesthesia in parturients.Methods A total of 204 parturients,scheduled for elective cesarean section,were divided into either control group or SHS group depending on whether or not SHS (systolic blood pressure [SBP] in the upper extremity decreased by ＞ 30 mmHg or decreased to ＜ 80 mmHg) developed after spinal anesthesia.The baseline patient characteristics such as age,body height and weight,gestational weeks and biparietal diameter were recorded.Supine stress test (SST) was performed.Heart rate,blood pressure in upper and lower extremities,perfusion index,pleth variability index and intravesical pressure were recorded when patients were in supine position and in left lateral position before spinal anesthesia.The risk factors of which P values were less than 0.05 would enter the multi-factor logistic regression analysis to stratify the risk factors for SHS.Results Among the 204 patients,99 cases developed SHS after spinal anesthesia,and the incidence was 48.5％.Logistic regression analysis showed that maternal body weight,biparietal diameter,the difference in SBP between upper and lower extremities in supine position,the difference in SBP in upper extremities caused by changing position and positive SST were risk factors for SHS after spinal anesthesia (P＜0.05 or 0.01).Conclusion Maternal body weight,biparietal diameter,the difference in SBP between the upper and lower extremities in supine position,the difference in SBP in upper extremities caused by changing position and positive SST are risk factors for SHS after spinal anesthesia in parturients.

AIM To study the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in lymphocytes modified by BDNF gene and its effect on the proliferation and the H 2O 2-induced apoptosis of PC12 cells for the transfer of ex vivo therapeutic gene into central nervous system (CNS) tissue with atraumatic means. METHODS Recombined BDNF cDNA plasmid was transfected by LipofectAMINE into the packing cell line PA317 and G418-resistant clones with highest titer was selected. Rat lymphocytes were infected repeatedly with virus supernatant. The expression of BDNF in rat lymphocytes was assayed by FCM and immunohistochemistry. The proliferation of PC12 cells was evaluated by MTT assay. H 2O 2-induced apoptosis of PC12 cells was determined by PI stain flow cytometry. RESULTS BDNF expressed in rat lymphocytes genetically modified and the concentration of BDNF in the conditioned medium of engineered lymphocytes had a linear correlation with the proliferation of the PC12 cells. The supernatant of lymphocytes modified by BDNF gene decreased the apoptosis of PC12 cells induced by H 2O 2. CONCLUSION Rat lymphocytes genetically modified can express and secret active BDNF in vitro.
