ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of r egional wall motion abnormality(RWMA) on cardiac anatomic structure with coronary artery disease (CAD) and to recognize serious degree of the disease by echocardiography. MethodsA total of 125 cases was observed. There were 63 patients in CAD group (41 cases with general CAD,7 cases with acute myocardial infarction and 15 cases with old myocardial infarction). All the patients had undergone respectively CABG,PTCA and stent, coronary angiography or radionuclide scan for confirmation. There were 62 cases in normal control group. Using 2D echocardiography, stand short and long axis images of left ventricle(LV) were chosen. Displayed RWMA to compose the centripetal disharmonized motion with whole-wall of LV,and the discentripetal contradiction motion. M mode for continuous scan was to detect the typical characterisitic of RWMA. ResultsSingle-occurring RWMA from 43 cases ( 68.2 %) in 63 cases with CAD was displayed, while multiple-occurring RWMA from another 20 cases ( 31.8 %) was displayed(P

Objective To study the changes in echocardiography in normotensive patients with type2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in order to establish early diagnosis and give preventive measures for diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Methods Microvasculopathy was diagnosed in T2DM patients when microalbuminuria exceeded 15ml/min. Fifty-four T2DM patients were divided into two groups: group A (patients without microvasculopathy, n=32 ), group B (patients with microvasculopathy, n=22). All of T2DM were submitted to echocardiography and the results were compared with healthy people of matched sex and age (group C, n=20). Results There were no differences in systolic function parameters among the groups. Left ventricular mass index (LVMI) was higher in two groups of diabetics compared with group C. Diastolic dysfunction of various degrees was found in the two groups of diabetics, regardless of the presence of microvasculopathy, with a manifestation of a decrease of blood flow velocity in early diastolic phase and increase in late diastolic phase (P

ObjectiveTo explore the effects and significance of acetazolamide on the expression of aquaporin-4(AQP4) of gastric mucosal in rats with endotoxemia. Methods30 SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: Sham operated control group( Control group) ,endotoxemia group( EDT group) and acetazolamide group( ATL group). The immunohistochemistry was used to assess the expression of the AQP4 in the gastric mucosal tissues. The serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukin-1 β(IL-1β) levels in each group were measured by radioimmunoassay. ResultsThe expression of AQP4 and the levels of serum TNF-αt and IL-1 ββ in EDT group were higher than those in control group( P < 0.01 ). After the ALT treatment, the expression of AQP4 and the levels of serum TNF-α and IL1 β in ALT group were lower than those in EDT group( all P <0.01 ) and the expression of AQP4 in the gastric mucosal tissues in ALT group was also lower than those in EDT group( P <0.01 ). ConclusionThe raising of AQP4 expression and increasing of serum TNF-α, IL-1β take part in the progress of gastric mucosal injury in rats with endotoxemia. ALT could protect the gastric mucosal tissues by lowering the AQP4 expression and reducing the levels of serum TNF-α and IL-l β.
