1.Study of Panlindromic Rheumatism and Panodynia
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(06):-
This article summarized the definition, clinical manifestation, diagnosis and the development in research of Panlindromic Rheumatism(PR).According to the clinical characteristics of PR,we considerd that it was very much like "panodynia" in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) as described in Inner Canon of Huangdi. It discussed the pathogenesis, the theorical source, the diagnosis and treatment of panodynia further. And it suggested that the treatment of panodynia based on syndrome differentiation should be different in the acute and the chronic phase. In the acute phase, principle of removing heat, expelling wind, eliminating dampness and freeing the connecting channels should be applied while in the chronic phase principle of supplementing the spleen and boosting the lung, eliminating dampness and clearing away the phlegm rheum, supplementing the liver and boosting the kidney, supplementing yin and clearing away heat, warming the spleen and recuperating the kidney should be applied respectively according to different clinical manifestation. The theory of "To treat the one going to be sick not the one already sick" in the Inner Canon of Huangdi is implied in the paper. We hope this paper may arouse intensive discussion and more research for panodynia and the relation between panodynia and PR.
2.Frequency statistic analysis about the syndromes of rheumatoid arthritis
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(03):-
Objective: To discuss frequent syndromes and the related regularity of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) in TCM by frequency statistic analysis.Method: Medical records from Jan.2002 to Oct.2007 about syndromes or principles of RA were searched and analyzed by frequency statistic analysis. Results: In the past fi ve years, there were about 24 kinds of syndromes of RA,and among them, deficiency, coldness, dampness, heat, stasis and phlegm syndromes were commonly seen.In the syndrome differentiation of eight principles, syndrome of intermingled defi ciency and excess was of the maximum frequency. In the syndrome differentiation of zang-fu viscera, the related frequency from high to low were insuffi ciency of kidney essence, insuffi ciency of liver and kidney, stagnation of liver qi,insuffi ciency of spleen qi,and etc.,with insuffi ciency of lung qi of the minimum frequency. In the syndrome differentiation of qi,blood and liquid, syndrome of blood stasis was of the maximum frequency. Conclusion: From the frequency statistic analysis,it can be concluded that syndrome of intermingled deficiency and excess re? ected the virtual cause of RA,and RA is related to kidney and liver mainly, together with spleen, stomach, heart, and etc.,according to causing mechanism. In the syndrome differentiation of Wang numbness(RA),coldness and heat is of the fundamentally function. What’s more, the method of promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis should be noted during the treatment.
3.The effect of the rehabilitation on reaction times of children with brain injury
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(12):-
Objective To elucidate the effect of rehabilitation training on visual reaction times of children with brain injury. Methods Fifty-one children with brain injury recruited for the observation group were observed, 29 age-matched normal children served as the controlsubjects. All the children in both groups were tested in terms of the eye-hand visual reaction times(VRTs). All the patients were given rehabilitation treatment. Results Before rehabilitation treatment, the VRTs of the observation group were significantly slower than those of the control group (P0.05). Conclusion The attention and the motor speed were abnormal in children with brain injury, rehabilitation treatment can improve the reaction times significantly. The test of RTs could be of great importance in the evaluation of neurobehavior and therapeutic effect for children with brain injury, because of its easiness, sensitiveness and objectiveness in clinical application.
4.Effect of Bushen Qiangdu Formula on Serum Osteoprotegerin,Bone Mineral Density and Bone Metabolism of 50 Patients of Osteoporosis with Ankylosing Spondylitis
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1992;0(12):-
Objective To study the effect of and its mechanism Bushen Qiangdu Formula (Formula for reinforcing kidney and strengthening spine) on patients with osteoporosis induced by ankylosing spondylitis (AS).Methods All 50 AS patients with osteoporosis were treated with Bushen Qiangdu Formula for six months. Before and after treatment, the observation term includes serum osteoprotegerin (OPG),bone mineral density (BMD),serum boneglaprotein (BGP),calcitonin (H-CT),parathyroid hormone (PTH),bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BAP),collagen I carboxyl-terminal-prolonging peptides (CICP),urine deoxidation pydidinoline (DPD),C-telopeptide of type I collagen (CTX-I),erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),C reactive protein (CRP),Bath AS Function Index (BASFI),Bath AS dynamic Index (BASDI),and symptoms and signs. Results After treatment, the serum OPG significantly increased (P
5.Neuroprotective effect of acteoside against rotenone-induced damage of SH-SY5Y cells and its possible mechanism
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(02):-
Aim To investigate the neuroprotective effect of acteoside against rotenone-induced cell damage in SH-SY5Y cells and the effect of acteoside on the expression of Parkinson disease (PD)-related proteins Parkin and ?-Synuclein(?-Syn), and to discover the underlying molecular mechanism of neuroprotection by acteoside. Methods The activity of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) was measured by spectroscopy. Expressions of Parkin and ?-Syn were studied using Western blot analysis, and the distribution of ?-Syn was analyzed using immunofluorescence technique. Results ① Acteoside (10, 20 or 40 mg?L-1) pretreatment for 6 h markedly reduced the release of LDH induced by 0.5 ?mol ?L-1 rotenone; ② Treatment with 0.5 ?mol?L-1 rotenone for 48 h led to significant Parkin cleavage and increased formation of ?-Syn protein dimer; ③ Pretreatment of SH-SY5Y cells with acteoside (10, 20 or 40 mg?L-1) for 6 h markedly reduced the cleavage of Parkin induced by 0.5 ?mol?L-1 rotenone in a concentration-dependent manner, inhibited the aggregation of ?-Syn and decreased ?-Syn-positive SH-SY5Y cells. Conclusion These findings suggest that pretreatment of acteoside has a potent neuroprotective effect against rotenone-induced SH-SY5Y cells damage and its mechanism might involve in reducing the cleavage of Parkin and inhibitng ?-Syn expression induced by rotenone.

7.The characteristic of reaction times in the brain injury children
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2005;11(12):1013-1015
ObjectiveTo observe the characteristic of reaction times (RTs) in the brain injury children.Methods65 children with brain injury, including 50 cerebral palsy (CP) cases, 13 brain trauma (BT) cases and 2 other cases, were selected as the experimental group, and 29 age-matched normal children as the control group. Children of two groups were tested by the eye-hand visual reaction times (VRTs), and children of the experimental group were also tested with Wechsler preschool and primary scale of intelligence (WPPSI), Wechsler intelligence scale for children (WISC-R) and comprehensive function assessment.ResultsThe VRTs of the experimental group children was significantly slower than that of the control group (P<0.01). There was no significant difference in VRTs test between CP and BT children (P>0.05). The motor time of VRTs of the severe subjects in the experimental group was significantly slower than that of moderate and light subjects (P<0.01). There was a negative correlation between VRTs and the scores of IQ, PIQ and the comprehensive function assessment.ConclusionThe attention and the motor speed of muscles are abnormal in children with brain injury.

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2013;(7):683-686
Maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) is an autosomally recessively inherited disorder of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) metabolism caused by the defective activity of branched-chainα-ketoacid dehydrogenase complex (BCKD). The disease is characterized by severe ketoacidosis, mental retardation, and neurological impairments. So far, application of tandem mass spectrom-etry and HPLC has allowed newborn screening and early detection, but some patients with variant forms of the disorder will escape detection. Liver transplantation is an effective treatment. However, the rareness of liver donation limits the liver transplantation. In this review, the screening, diagnosis and therapy of MSUD will be discussed.
