AIM protective effects of the Marine Face Pack (MFP) on hairless mice damaged by ultraviolet B(UVB) and it's relation to antioxidants were studied. MATHODS oxidative damage models of hairless mice irradiated by ultraviolet B (radiating intension; UVB 5. 15 ? 10-2J/cm2 ? 30 day) were established. The mice were randomly divided into four groups: control, UVB radiated groups (Water model, 10%MFP, 10%VitC). The ultrastructures of skin were observed by electromicroscope. The expression of Bcl - 2 protein and NOS were examined by immunohistochemical methods. The contents of MDA, the activities of GSH-Px, SOD and the T-AOC in the supernates of skin of those mice were detected by biochemical methods. RESULTS The large dilatant vacuolations and few rough endoplasmic reticu-lum in fibroblasts and epidermic cells of mice in UVB model group were observed under electromicroscope. MFP could keep the ultrastructure of epidermis and fibroblasts in the mice of MFP groups normal. MFP could enhance the expression of Bcl-2 protein and inhibit the ac-tivitiy of NOS(P

Objective To evaluate the diagnositic value of exercise stress echocardiography (ESE) in patients with pacemaker-dependnet.Methods Forty-six patients remained pacemaker dependent with a fixed heart rate throughout ESE and coronary angiographic studies. Results Thirty-four of 46 patients completed the ESE. Coronary artery disease was confirmed in 28 of 34 who had coronary angiograms. ESE had a sensitivity of 75% and specificity of 83% in pacemaker-dependent patients. Conclusions ESE has preserved diagnostic utility in pacemaker dependent patients with absolute chronotropic incompetence.

Objective To evaluate the curative effects and side effects of burcea javanica oil emulsion(BJOE) in the treatment of pleural effusion of lung cancer by thoracic injection. Methods 40 cases with pleural effusion of lung cancer were treated by using BJOE.A dose of 50~100ml BJOE was injected intrapleurally, once every 5~7 days,4 time for a course of treatment, then the effects and side effects were observed after one month. Results The effective rate was 90%(36/40).The side effects were fever(n=4) and digestive sickness(n=2) as well thoracalgia(n=1).Conclusion Brucea javanica oil emulsion has good curative effect and low side effect in the treatment of pleural effusion of lung cancer.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
Condyloma acuminatum is closely associated with human papillomavirus (HPV). In this study the method of slotting hybridization was used to detect the Specimens of 28 cases of condyloma acuminatum. Fourteen out of the 28 samples were positive for HPV 11 probe, the positive rate was 50% (14/28). Nine out of the 14 positive samples were digested with Bamll Ⅰ and Pst Ⅰ respectively to study the present state of DNA after using Southern blotting hybridization. It was shown that HPV 11 DNA were mainly present in a simple monometric episomal state in the condyloma acuminatum cells.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
The transformation of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) may play somc important roles in the oncogenesis of cervical carcinoma Studies showed that the transforming gence mainly located in the E6. E7 open reading frames (ORFs). We digested HPV16 DNA with PstI+EcoRI. Using pUC-19 as the vector, E. coli JM103 strain as the host cell, after two times of directive subelone, plasmid pEP-8 was construeted, confirmed by RE analysis and Southern blot hybridization, the inserted band of pEP-8 was 1.43Kb long contained the intact E6 E7 ORFs, and also a cat-box region, two TATA-boxics and a cell-type specific cnhancer in the upstream swquence. The pEP-8 could be used as the specific probe of HPV-16 E region for identifing virol mRNAs in the HPV infected cells. Meanwhile it was a basework for studying the transformation and transforming proteins of HPV-16.

Objective To explore the effects of microstructure grinded on the labial face of porcelain fused to metal crown (PFM) in esthetic prosthesis for anterior teeth. Methods 193 patients with single maxillary incisor tooth defects were repaired with 2 crowns for each one. After the crowns being blent colour and molded, the crown A was not grinded particularly on the labial face and the crown B was done according to the records of the microstructure. The patients were allowed to choose the most satisfied one when 2 crowns were cemented temporarily. Results 36 patients chose the crown A and 157 chose B.The difference was significant ( P0.05). Conclusion The crown has great vitality and accordes with the esthetic standards of the patients by way of being grinded microstructure on the labial face.

Objective To study the clinical features of primary signet ring cell carcinoma of prostate. Methods 2 cases of primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the prostate were studied and reviewed. Results The age of the 2 patients was 64 and 73.The clinical symptoms were dysuria, vesical irritability and perineum discomfort. Histologically, signet ring cell carcinoma was composed of round cells with abundant-clear cytoplasm and crescent-shaped nuclei on one side.Mitosis were frequently observed.Immunohistochemical testing showed the cancer cell was positive for prostate specific antigen (PSA),prostate acid phosphatase (PAP),AR,cytokeratin and negative for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA),alcian blue/periodic acid-schiff (AB/PAS).One case (stage D)died 6 months after bilateral orchiectomy and flutamide therapy because of wide-spead metastasis;the other (stage B 2) has been surviving 25 months after radical prostatectomy, bilateral orchiectomy, endocrine therapy and local irradiation ministration. Conclusions Primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the prostate is extremely rare with a high grade of malignancy. The diagnosis depends on histopathologic and immunohistochemical studies.

Objective To investigate the effect of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) on stress hyperglycemia in patients after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD). Methods Patients matched inclusion and exclusion standards were divided into two groups. The patients after PD before the implementation of ERAS programme were named as the control group (40 cases). The patients after PD with the implementation of ERAS programme were named as the experimental group (52 cases). The fast blood glucose (FBG) in postoperative day (POD) 1, 3, 7 and the volatility of capillary blood glucose during postoperative 3 days were compared between the two groups. Results The FBG in POD1, POD3, POD7 were (8.27 ± 1.99), (6.78 ± 1.22), (5.97 ± 1.21) mmol/L in the experimental group respectively, and the FBG in POD1, POD3, POD7 were (10.46 ± 5.17), (7.88 ± 2.98), (7.29 ± 2.94) mmol/L in the control group respectively, there were significant differences between two groups (t=2.545, 2.219, 2.683, all P<0.05). The volatility of capillary blood glucose during postoperative 3 days in the experimental group were (3.47± 1.98), (3.16 ± 1.46), (2.74 ± 1.49) mmol/L respectively, and the volatility of capillary blood glucose during postoperative 3 days in the control group were (4.13±2.36), (3.26±1.59), (4.07±2.74) mmol/L respectively, no significant differences were found in the volatility of capillary blood glucose in POD1 and POD2 between the two groups (t=1.479, 0.308, all P > 0.05), while significant differences were found in the volatility of capillary blood glucose in POD3 between the two groups (t=2.739, P<0.05). Conclusions It can be concluded that ERAS may be useful to decrease stress hyperglycemia and the volatility of capillary blood glucosein patients after PD, and accelerate the recovery of patients after PD.
