Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(10):-
It has been shown by TLC that American Ginseng contains substatial amount of pseudoginsenoside F11,while Ginseng is devoid of such content .Therefore, it offered a very convennient and effective method to distinguish Ginseng from American ginseng (root, stem, leaf and their saponin extracts).

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2014;(6):477-481
Objective To evaluate the clinical application value of epicardial transesophageal echocardiography (ETE) in cardiac surgeries. Methods Using the transesophageal multi-plane ultrasonic probe of GE company, ETE were performed for a total of 53 patients undergoing cardiac surgeries with extracorporeal circulation and heart re-beat, evaluating valvular function, left ventricular systolic function and residual shunts. Results Qualiifed ETE images were obtained in all of the 53 cases without complications of infection, bleeding and serious arrhythmia. Intraoperative regional left ventricular systolic dysfunction happened in 5 cases and was promptly handled. Residual mitral regurgitation after valvular replacement was found in one case, which was reduced by valvuloplasty. One case showed moderate tricuspid regurgitation and another two cases indicated residual shunt. All the problems in the above cases were corrected in immediate surgeries. Moreover, the pressure gradient of one hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathic patient fell significantly to 8 mmHg after successful myectomy (the blood flow velocity fell from 3.2 m/s to 1.4 m/s). Conclusion Epicardial transesophageal echocardiogramphic examination is easy to handle and useful in monitoring abnormalities in cardiac surgery by providing hemodynamic and anatomic information.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2005;0(06):-
A comprehensive evaluation on textbooks depends not only on experts' opinions but also on the first-hand feedback information from users. This research, based on the Evaluation Norm System issued by Education Department and the real situation of users(students),has set up an evaluation norm system by students for college textbooks.Through the test of this system,it is thought that it can reflect a basic picture of textbooks and is easy to be operated.

Objective To study genotypes, antibiotic resistance and epidemiology of extendedspectrum β-lactamases (ESBL)-producing Shigella isolated in Tianjin, and to discuss the relationship between ESBL-producing Shigella and drug-resistance plasmid. Methods A total of 136 Shigella spp.were isolated from stool specimens of patients with diarrhea who presented mainly with bloody purulent stool from Tianjin Children's Hospital,Tianjin Medical University No.2 Hospital and Tianjin No.1 Central Hospital between May 2009 and September 2010.Suspicious ESBL-producing isolates were screened by K-B disc diffusion method. The conjugation experiment was performed in the confirmed ESBL-producing strains and antibiotic resistance was compared between clinical strains and transconjugants to confirm the plasmid-mediated resistance. The genotypes of these isolates were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using universal primers for TEM,SHV,CTX-M-1 group,CTX-M-2 group,CTX-M-9 group, respectively.Intergenic consensus PCR (ERIC-PCR) was employed to understand the molecular homology of the ESBL-producing isolates. The data were analyzed by x2 test.ResultsESBL were identified in 14.7% (20/136) of Shigella isolates, but no AmpC enzyme were detected.Among all the Shigella isolates,16 strains were genotype CTX-M-14,4 were genotype CTX-M-15.The strains with CTX-M ESBL were resistant to multiple antibiotics, while 100% sensitive to imipenem. The transconjugant test of 18 ESBL-producing isolates were positive, and these conjugations were only resistant to β-lactamases. Conclusions CTX-M type is the common genotype of ESBL-producing Shigella isolates in Tianjin. ESBL-producing is the main cause of multiple resistance to β-lactams.The transmission of CTX-M producing strains is mainly mediated by plasmids.

Objectives:To explore the relationship between sleep quality and coping styles in cervical cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy.Methods:68 cervical cancer patients were assessed by convenient sampling, who had been investigated with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Jalowiec coping scale (JCS-60).Results:Global PSQI score was (8.60 ± 4.47).Optimistic coping scored highest with score of (2.11 ± 0.45),which was the style most often applied by cervical cancer patients.Emotive coping scored lowest with score of (0.97 ± 0.62).Among 60 coping items,Hoped that things would get better was the most often used coping strategy,Took a drink to make yourself feel better was the least used coping strategy.Global PSQI score was positively correlated with fatalistic coping(r =0.325,P =0.008).Confrontive coping was positively correlated with subjective sleep quality score(r =0.318,P =0.009),while supportive coping was negatively related to subjective sleep quality score(r =-0.306,P =0.013),and palliative was negatively related to daytime dysfunction(r =-0.245,P =0.047).Gonclusions:Sleep problems are a common complaint in cervical cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy.Health care workers should guide the patients to adopt active coping styles to improve sleep quality.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(5):692-694
Objective To evaluate the role of three dimensional (3D) speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) in detection of subclinical left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction in patients with aortic stenosis (AS).Methods The study included 47 patients with AS and 50 age-matched healthy individuals.Conventional echocardiographic parameters were measures, and 3D Speckle tracking imaging of the peak systolic strain was recorded. Results Three-dimensional global longitudinal strain (3D-GLS) were significantly reduced in patients with AS compared to controls (P < 0.01).Three-dimensional global circumferential strain (3D-GCS) were significantly increased (P < 0.05).Three-dimensional global area strain (3D-GAS) and three-dimensional global radial strain (3D-GRS) were similar between two groups (P >0.05).Correlation analysis showed that |3D-GLS| was negatively correlated with left ventricular mass index (LVMI) (r =-0.59,P <0.05) irrespective of |3D-GAS|,|3D-GCS|,3D-GRS,and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).Conclusions Patients with AS have evidence of subclinical LV systolic dysfunction despite preserved EF%.3D speckle tracking appears is useful in detection of subclinical LV dysfunction in patients with AS.
