2.Endocrine system disturb induced by antineoplastic agents
China Oncology 2006;0(08):-
Effects of antineoplastic agents on endocrine system are common, but it is difficult to identify since clinical complaints are subtle, and even more difficult to relate a particular chemotherapeutic regimen to the induced endocrine disturb. This review was organized according to the pattern of endocrine system diseases induced by antineoplastic agents, such as disorders of glucose metabolism, free water clearance, mineral metabolism, lipid metabolism and GH secretion and growth, metabolic bone diseases, adrenal dysfunction, thyroid disorders and reproductive dysfunction. Early detection and treatment of endocrine deficiency may have a significant impact on the quality and duration of life in a cancer survivor.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of metabolic syndrome (MS) in residents in Pudong New District of Shanghai. MethodsA total of 5 584 residents aged 20-80 years were randomly selected from Pudong New District of Shanghai through multistage sampling and interviewed from April to July of 2008. Metabolic syndrome was defined according to three diagnostic criteria for MS, issued by the modified National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel Ⅲ criteria ( NCEP-ATP Ⅲ ), International Diabetes Federation (IDF), and Chinese Diabetes Society (CDS). ResultsThe crude prevalences of MS in the adult population in Pudong New District were 18.2% and 13.1% standardized ( male 19. 1%, female 17.4%, the age-standardized 15.6% and 13.2% ) with CDS criterion, 31.8% and 24.4% standardized ( male 28.4% ,female 35.1% ,the agestandardized 22. 7% and 25.0% ) with NCEP-ATP Ⅲ criterion, and 21.7% and 17.0% standardized ( male 15.9% ,female 26.7%, the age-standardized 13.8% and 19.2% ) with IDF criterion. The age-specific prevalence of MS increased according to three diagnostic criteria, and the age-adjusted prevalence was higher in males than females in junior age groups and higher in females than males in senior ones. Significant differences were present among region, education, marriage status, smoking, work intensity, recreation, and physical activity according to some diagnostic criteria. ConclusionsSubstantial proportions of adults in Pudong New District of Shanghai suffer from metabolic syndrome, and there exists a tendency for young people involved. MS has become a noteworthy public health problem. It suggests that community-integrated control strategy of MS should be made a priority.

Journal of Kunming Medical University 2001;22(1):83-86
The treatment results of radiofrequency ablation (m) were analyzed in l5 patients with the complicated Supraventricular tachycardia(SVT). The causes of SVT were dual accessory pathway(AP) in 9 patients, single M with slow-fast atrioventricular junctional reentrant tachycardio (AVJRT) in 5 patients and single AP with slow fast/fast-slow AVJRT in l patient. Results: 24 APs and 6 slow pathways of atrioventricular node were abl a ted. All patients were successful. During the follow-up of 6~48 months, there were no recurrence in l5 patients, also there were no occurrence of atrioventricular block and other complications. Conclusion: Using the proper methods of m of the complicated SVT would have a h igher successful rate, a lower recurrent rate and lower complications.
9.The values of SOFA score, qSOFA score and SIRS criteria in predicting the prognosis of adult patients with suspect infection
Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2018;27(3):259-264
Objective To investigate the clinical values of SOFA score,qSOFA score and SIRS criteria in predicting the prognosis of patients with suspected infection in the emergency department. Methods From January 2015 to April 2017,487 patients aged over 18 years were suspected to be infected and admitted to hospital.SOFA,qSOFA,and SIRS scores were calculated. The mortality and the requirement of ICU treatment were used as prognostic factors for evaluating the validity of each score. The prognostic value of each scoring system was evaluated by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC).Results In 487 patients, the hospital mortality rate was 4.9%,and requirement of ICU treatment rate was 17%.SOFA score predicting hospital mortality and requirement of ICU treatment (AUROC 0.905) were superior to other scores (qSOFA-WBC:AUROC 0.778,qSOFA:AUROC 0.769,SIRS:AUROC 0.64).Compared with the SIRS criteria, patients with a score of >1 had higher qSOFA scores (94.47%),but lower sensitivity (44.86%);although SIRS criteria had a higher sensitivity (77.57%),they were less specific (42.63%).When qSOFA was added to the condition of leukocyte abnormalities (<4× 109/L or > 10× 109/L),the prognosis was improved and the sensitivity and specificity for prognosis were 73.83% and 71.84% (qSOFA-WBC score,>1),respectively.In patients with qSOFA-WBC score, only 6 patients (negative predictive value of 94.2%) died or required ICU treatment. Conclusion The SOFA score is superior to qSOFA and SIRS in predicting the prognosis of patients with suspect infection, and qSOFA-WBC is superior to qSOFA and SIRS in predicting low risk.
