1.Multifocal visual evoked potential in the detection of glaucomatous field defects
Ophthalmology in China 1994;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the effect of multifocal visual evoked potential(mfVEP)on the detection of glaucomatous field defects. Design Case-controlled study. Participants 20 healthy individuals and 20 patients with primary glaucoma accepted mfVEP test. Methods 20 healthy individuals and 20 patients with primary glaucoma were tested with RETIscan multifocal VEP System 3.20 and OCTOPUS 101 automated perimetry G2 test program. Amplitudes were measured and interocular response asymmetry coefficient (RAC) was calculated for each site from all participants. The abnormal areas from mfVEP test were compared with field defects from automated perimetry. Main Outcome Measures Amplitude, RAC. Results 90% of suffered eyes showed at least 3 adjacent points had an amplitude decrease or RAC outside 2 standard deviations (SD) from healthy individual database, in which 63% showed at least 3 adjacent points had an amplitude decrease outside 2 SD from normal database while 70% showed at least 3 adjacent points had a RAC outside 2 SD from normal database. 2 patients (2 eyes) had field defects in mfVEP though automated perimetry showed normal field. None of the healthy showd field defects in mfVEP test. Conclusions mfVEP could be used to detect field defects of glaucoma.

Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(3):271-273
Objective To investigate the association of serum ferritin and hemoglobin with the pathogenesis of primary restless legs syndrome(RLS). Methods Thirty-five patients with primary restless legs syndrome and twenty insomnia controls were included in this study. The level of serum ferritin and hemoglobin were measured, and the data have been analyzed using t-test. Results The level of serum ferritin in the primary RLS patients (89.77μg/L (SD:48.52)) was significantly lower than in the contruls (123.36 μg/L (SD:35.06)) (t=-2.713,P <0.01), whereas the level of hemoglobin have no statistical difference between the RLS group (142.77 g/L (SD: 11.79)) and the control group (139.05 g/L (SD: 12.33)) (t = 1.108, P > 0.05). Conclu-sions The decrease of serum ferritin may be a risk factor of primary restless legs syndrome, but the level of hemo-globin is not associated with primary restless legs syndrome.

Objective To compare the effect of electrode positions o n multifocal visual evoked potential(mf-VEP). Methods Ten healt hy individuals were tested with RETIscan multifocal VEP system 3.20, each indiv idual was tested with four electrode positions: the active and reference electro de were placed 2.0 cm above and below the inion in Ch1;3.0 cm above and 4.5 cm below the inion in Ch2;2.0 cm on both right and left side of the inion in C h3 and 4.0 cm on both right and left side of the inion in Ch4. The summed ampli tudes of hemifield mf-VEP were analyzed and compared according to different ele ctrode positions. Results The difference among summed amplitud es of the upper or lower hemifield mf-VEP recorded with Ch1、Ch2、Ch3 and Ch4 w as statistically significant;and the difference between Ch2 and the other chann els was statistically significant too. The difference among summed amplitudes of the horizontal sites whose amplitudes were small when recorded with Ch2 and sum med amplitudes of the corresponding sites recorded with Ch3 and Ch4 were statist ically significant;and the difference between Ch4 and the other channels was st atistically significant too. Conclusions compared to Ch1、Ch3 and Ch4, Ch2 can make a better recording of mf-VEP. As for some sites, especi ally those along horizontal line, horizontal electrodes could improve the amplit udes of mf-VEP recorded with vertical electrodes, and Ch4 could do better to im prove the mf-VEP recorded with Ch2 than Ch3.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(4):352-356
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the influence of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (Stat3) and hypoxia-inducible factor-lα (HIF-1α) on the resistance effect of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma to radiation therapy and chemotherapy under the hypoxia circumstances.
METHOD:
Western blot was used to test the expression of p-Stat3 and HIF-1α in the Hep-2 cells under the hypoxia conditions. MTT assay was used to test the proliferation of Hep-2 cells after radiation therapy and chemotherapy; the Hep-2 cells were suppressed expression of Stat3 and/or HIF-1α.
RESULT:
(1) AG490 induced significant proliferation inhibition on Hep-2 cells and Hep-2HIF-1α-/- cells in vitro underthe hypoxia environments (P < 0.05); (2) Suppressing expression of Stat3 reduced the expression of HIF-1α protein (P < 0.05); (3) Combined inhibition of Stat3 and HIF-1α enhanced radio- and chemo-sensitivity in laryngeal squamous carcinoma cells under hypoxia.
CONCLUSION
Combined inhibition of Stat3 and HIF-1α can further enhance radio- and chemo-sensitivity in laryngeal squamous carcinoma cells under hypixia compare than inhibiting Stat3 or HIF-1α alone. Effectively blocking of HIF-1α pathway and suppressing the expression of Stat3, would be an effective method to enhance radio- and chemo-sensitivity in laryngeal squamous carcinoma cells, which provides a new thought to reduce the resistance to treatment.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(05):-
Objective: To sammarize the methodology of the treatment of alveolar cleft by autogenous cancellous bone graft obtained with mini incision(ABGM).Methods: 22 cases of alveolar cleft received ABGM by one operator. The cleft area was restored with autogenous cancellous bone from iliac crest by cylinder osteotomes for extraction of bone transplants(COEBT) with mini incision. All the patients were follow up for at least six months postoperatively. The result of the bone grafting was evaluated on the radiographs. Results: ①The overall survival rate of ABGM was 95.8%,and clinical successful rate was 91.7%;②The successful rate of ABGM in group of patients above 18 year old, or with complete cleft palate or bilateral cleft lip and palate was lower than that in other groups.③The wound for extracting autogenous cancellous bone from iliac crest by COEBT with mini incision was smaller than that by osteotomy. Conclusion: ABGM with COEBT is an effective way in the treatment of alveolar cleft. The successful rate of ABGM is related with the age and cleft style of the patients.
