Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2008;15(4):618-619
Objective To discuss the value of expressed prostate secretion(EPS) pH test in the diagnosis of chronie prostatitis. Methods EPS was obtained from 86 out-patients with chronic prostatitis, pH test and microscopy field being studied, prostate ultrasonography was performed after filling bladder. Results Mean pH of the EPS was (7.0±0.5), EPS-WBC was (20±10)/HP, and prostate ultrasonography positive rate were 63.9 % (55/86). pH of the EPS and the frequency of ultrasound abnormal ities were significantly correlated to the WBC in EPS.There was no correlation between age, disease process duration and the pH of EPS. Conclusion In chronic prostatitis, EPS-pH was positively correlated with the ultrasonography abnormalities and the WBC elevation of EPS, and EPS-pH test in the diagnosis of chronic prostatitis were meaning and value.
3.Association between cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen-4 gene polymorphism and ankylosing spondylitis susceptibility: a meta-analysis
Chinese Journal of Rheumatology 2017;21(8):547-552
Objective To explore the association between cytotoxic T lymphocyte associated antigen-4 (CTLA-4) gene polymorphism and susceptibility to ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods The case-control studies from Chinese Biomedical Database, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, Weipu, PubMed, Cochrane Library, OvidSP, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier Science Direct, Springer Link databases for the association of CTLA-4 gene polymorphism with AS. The association strength was assessed with chi-squared test by Stata 12.0 software. Results Seven references of CTLA-4 gene +49A/G (rs231775) polymorphism were enrolled which included 1119 AS patients and 995 controls (healthy subjects or non-AS patients), which showed that there were no statistical difference between AS and control groups under recessive, dominant, co-dominant, additive and allele gene models. Five references of CTLA-4 gene-318C/T (rs5742909) polymorphism were enrolled which included 635 AS patients and 512 controls, which showed that there were no statistical difference between AS and control groups under recessive and additive gene models; however, there were statistical difference between AS and control groups under dominant model [ OR=1.651, 95%CI (1.052, 2.590), P=0.029], co-dominant model [OR=0.621, 95%CI (0.403, 0.957), P=0.031] and allele model [OR=1.587, 95%CI (1.068, 2.357), P=0.022]. Conclusion The meta analysis reveal that CTLA-4 gene rs231775 single nucleotide polymorphism is not associated with the susceptibility to AS; rs5742909 SNP is associated with the susceptibility to AS, which suggests that C→T mutation increases the risk of AS.
4.EFFECTS OF GATING MODIFIERS OF MEMBRANE IONIC CHANNEL ON EXCITABILITY OF NERVES
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
Fffects of three gating modifiers of membrane ionic channel, aconitine (AC), deoxycholate (DOC) and Ca~(2+), on the excitability of nerves and the cxcitability index, standard clectrical quantity "a" were observed on 38 crayfish giant axons and 60 toad sciatic-peronael nerves. Results showed. that "a" is related to the activating rate of sodium channel and re(?)ts changes of clectrical quantity which is necded in opening the activation gating of sodium channel and producing the action potential.
5.Clinical significance of endothelin-1 and P-selection in coronary heart disease
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2003;9(4):250-251
ObjectiveTo explored the relationship among endothelin-1(ET-1), P-selection and troponin I(CTnI) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and unstable angina (UA).MethodsPlasma level of endothelin-1 was analyzed by radioimmunoassay, the expression of P-selection was analyzed by flow cytometery technique and troponin I was analyzed by paramagnetic partile chemiluminescent immunoassay in 23 AMI cases, 21 UA cases and 28 healthy controls.ResultsPlasma levels of ET-1 and CTnI in AMI patients were higher than in controls(P<0.05). The expression of P-selection in AMI patients was higher than in controls (P<0.01).Plasma levels of ET-1 and expression of P-selection in UA patients were higher than in controls (P<0.05). There was an increased trend of CTnI in UA patients in contrast to controls, but without statistical significance(P>0.05).As compared with UA, plasma levels of CTnI and expression of P-selection were elevated in AMI patients (P<0.05). No significant difference was observed between AMI and UA cases in plasma level of ET-1. Multivariate regression analysis revealed that P-selection was significantly associated with AMI and UA cases compared with plasma level of CTnI (r=0.404,P<0.01).ConclusionsPlasma levels of ET-1 and P-selection were sensitive markers as prethrombolic status.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2008;28(1):25-28
Objective To evaluate retrospectively whether posterior longitudinal ligament(PLL)adhere to dura mater in the patients with cervical spondylotie myelopathy(CSM)or not before the anterior cervical operation. Methods From December 2005 to January 2007,of 18 patients with CSM the adhesion between PLL and dura mater was found in the anterior cervical operation. The patients included of 11 males and 7 females, with mean age of 65.4 years (range 55-72 years). All the patients were measured by CT and MRI before operation. There were 12 cases of dual-segmental cervical intervertebral disc herniation,6 of tri-segmental disc herniation. The former cases were treated with one level corpectomy and titanium mesh or iliac grafting and cervical anterior plate, and the latter with an additional cervical cage in the intervertebralspace. The floatation method was used to deal with the adhesion. The fitness between the two radiological methods was analyzed by matched-pairs Kappa eoemcient test. Results The nerve functions of all the patients were improved after anterior cervieal decompression. The mean score of JOA was increased from 9.6 of pre-operation to 12.1 of post-operation.There were 4 cases with injury in dura mater, which healed after appropriate dealing with the leakage of cerebrospinal fluid.None of lacerated dura was directly repaired during the operation. The condition of the coarse touch and bur between intervertebral disc and dura mater were found in CT transverse scanning. The thickening of the PLL and the unsymmetrical space between inferior and superior subdural cavity was found in MRI.The coefficient test proved that the difference of the CT and MRI was significant in finding the adhesion. Conclusion MRI iS better than CT in finding the adhesion between the PLL and dura mater in CSM before operation, besides the floatation method should be good to deal with the adhesion.

BACKGROUND: The preventative capabilities of enamel demineralization, rising from the fixed orthodontic treatment, have drawn tremendous attention in recent years. Despite a variety of investigations carried out by both domestic and foreign scholars, whereas, the results of ways to reduce the incidence of demineralization are never fully satisfactory or unified. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the inhibitory effect of Fluor protector on enamel demineralization based on clinical practices during fixed orthodontic treatment.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Contrast observation was performed in the Department of Stomatology, Qingdao Second Sanatorium, Jinan Military Area Command of Chinese PLA from January 2006 to January 2009. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 132 participants (856 teeth, aged 7-18 years, average age 10.5 years, 76 females and 56 males), who had wall-developed hardened dental tissues, no tetracycline pigmentation teeth, no dental fiuorosis, or anything that constricted in their teeth, were involved in the study. And all subjects were volunteers who had signed the informed consent form and agreed to receive dental treatment and periodic review.METHODS: All the teeth were randomly divided into two groups: experimental and control groups. Teeth for the experimental group were bonded with the supporting brackets with the Fluor protectors, whereas teeth for the control group did basically the same only without the Fluor protectors. After the fixed orthodontic treatment, the supporting devices were removed, all the teeth were fully washed, and then the conditions of the tooth surfaces were observed and documented in both experimental and control groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The detection rate of orthodontic enamel demineralization in the two groups alter the fixed orthodontic treatment.RESULTS: After evaluation of the results of both groups, the incidence rate of enamel demineralization in the experimental group (5.51%) was obviously lower than control group (15.1%).CONCLUSION: Fluor protector has a significantly positive effect on preventing enamel demineralizaUon dudng fixed orthodontic treatment.
