Objective To evaluate applicative value of laparoscopy in children for the diagnosis and treatment of non-palpable testes.Method We evaluated retrospectively the laparoscopic approach used in 16 boys for the diagnosis and treatment of 21 non-palpable testes. All of them were diagnosed by non-palpable testis before operation. Results 7 cases (11 testis) in the internal ring were mobilized laparoscopically, and the operation was completed by open orchidopexy. Agenesis or atrophy of the 6 testis in the inguinal region was found. 2 high intra-abdominal testis (left) were found. The testis had no found in the intra-abdomen in two cases. Conclusions Miniinvasive laparoscopy is considered at present the standard method for the localization and treatment of non-palpable testes. No serious complications were recorded during or after operation. It should be the preferred method for the non-palpable testes.

80%). The resulting bulk cultures were mainly comprised of a CD56~- subset of ??T cells. The expression of V?1, V?2 and V?3 gene families in the ex vivo multiplied ??T cells from TIL and PBMC of patients with NPC, and PBMC of normal control was demonstrated by RT-PCR. Conclusion The ??TIL of NPC can be multiplied in vitro for the first time. The subsets (V?1, V?2 and V?3) of ??T cells from PBMC of healthy individuals, PBMC and TIL of patients with NPC, can also be multiplied in vitro, and the experiment lays an experimental foundation of using ??T cells for the cellular adoptive therapy in patients with NPC.

Objective To select an efficient ion exchange resin to purify the 60Co contaminated well-water for storing radioactive source and to ensure the radioactivity of 60Co in treated well-water below 10 Bq/L.Methods The radioactivity of 60Co in the water samples was measured by using the potassium cobaltinitrite coprecipitation-β counting method. The treatment efficiencies of two different ion exchange resins for the simulated 60Co-bearing waste water were compared to select a better one to dispose of the 60Co contaminated well-water.Results The treatment efficiency of MBD-15-SC mixed ion exchange resin was about 5.8 times higher than ZGCNR50 strong-acid cation exchange resin. The radioactivity of 60Co in the contaminated well-water could be reduced from 4.16 × 105 Bq/L to 1.16 Bq/L by two-stage sorption of MBD-15-SC mixed ion exchange resin. Conclusions Using several times of two-stage MBD-15-SC mixed ion exchange resin could effectively purify the 60Co contaminated well-water.The quality of the treated well-water could meet the sewage discharge standards.

Objective To study cytotoxic and antineoplastic effect in vitro of tephroseris kirilowii turez, houlub extract on U266 multiple myeloma cell line. Methods U266 cells were cocultured with the tephroseris kirilowii turez, houlub extract. Cytotoxicity assay was used by CCK-8 detection kit. Cell cycle and apoptosis were determined using flow cytometry(FCM) analysis. Results Extract of tephroseris kirilowii turez, houlub showed strong cytotoxicity against U266 cells. The IC50 was about 3.2 mg/L. After exposure of U266 cells to the drug, the distribution of cell cycle was changed compared with that of the controls. When the durg concentration was 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10 mg/L. respectively, the pencentages of cells in the G0/G1 phase were decreased with (34.12±0.49) %, (38.06 ± 0.63) % , (27.46±0.61) %, (15.91±0.32) %, respectively, while those in the S phase were increased with (4.98± 0.50) %, (4.01±0.22) %, (4.16±0.15) % and (5.04±0.12) % in G2/ M phase were increased with (50.05 ±1.12) %, (51.27±0.71) %, (51.84±0.73) % and (55.11±0.25) %, respectively, and apoptosis cells were increased. Apoptosis of U266 cells inadose-depadeut manner could be deteted with staining of Annexix V FITC/PI testing through FCM. Conclusion Tephroseris kirilowii turez extract showed strong cytotoxic effect on U266 cells. The antineoplsastic mechanism of the drug can be partly due to its induced apoptotic effect.

Objective To investigate the relationship between tumor subclassifieation and the clinicopathologic features and prognosis of patients with gastrointestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Method From June 2000 to June 2007, 63 gastrointestinal DLBCL cases were enrolled. Immunohistochemical staining was performed to detect CDIO, Bcl-6 and MUM1 expression. Tumors were subclassified according to CDIO, Bcl-6 and MUM1 expression. Results CD10 expression was positive in 13 cases. Bcl-6 expression was positive in 53 cases. MUM1 expression was positive in 52 cases. According to the expression of CD10, Bcl-6 and MUM1, 17 cases(27%) were of germinal center B cell-like (GCB) DLBCL and 46 cases (73%) were of non-GCB. There was a significant difference in local lymph node metastasis between GCB group and non-GCB group, but there was no significant difference in terms of tumor size and infiltrate depth between the two subgroups. The survival time of patients in GCB group(76 months) was significantly longer than that of non-GCB group (28 months). Among cases receiving postoperative chemotherapy (CHOP), the survival of GCB group (76 months) was longer than non-GCB group (24 months). All 4 GCB cases and 4 non-GCB cases under R-CHOP chemotherapy are alive (22 ~ 47 months). Conclusion Gastrointestinal DLBCL subclassification is closely correlated with local lymph node metastasis, and this in combination with the expression of CD10 could be used to predict the prognosis of patients with gastrointestinal DLBCL.
