Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2016;31(11):805-809
Split spinal cord malformation(SSCM) is a rare neurological abnormality that spinal cord was separated in the sagittal plane.Based on the tissue element and type of thecal shvac,SSCM is classified into Ⅰ,Ⅱ and mixed type.Congenital spinal deformity(CSD) is caused by the vertebral body formed or segmented obstacles.CSD can be divided into 3 types:Ⅰ,Ⅱ and mixed type. Both of SSCM and CSD are diagnosed depending on clinical symptoms,X rays, computed tomography (CT),magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) and other examine.Genitourinary and cardiac ultrasound should be performed at the same time.Progression of spinal deformity and nerve injury are accompanied with the growth process of children with CSD and SSCM.Early surgery can avoid further injury of nervous system, prevent spinal deformity progress and obtain good correction.Segmental tissue removal, tethered cord release and spinal deformity correction are generally consisted into an individual operative plan at present.Traditional surgical option included 2 steps:tissue removal and tethered cord release are conducted at Ⅰ phase surgery;then conducted the spinal deformity correction at Ⅱ phase. However, some reports suggested that completed the process of tissue removal, tethered cord release and spinal deformity correction at one surgery also obtain a satisfied effictiveness. The aim of this research is to review and discuss the diagnosis of the SSCM with CSD and evaluate the treatment effectiveness of Ⅰ phase surgery instead of the traditional surgical option.
2.Determination of Magnesium in Drinking Water by Flame Atomic Emission Spectrometry
Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(03):-
ve To explore a method for determination of magnesium in drinking water by air-acetylene flame atomic emission spectrometry. Methods The content of magnesium in drinking water was directly determined by air-acetylene flame atomic emission spectrometry using hydrochloric acid as media and lanthanum solution as masking agent. Results The concentrations of magnesium in drinking water were possitively correlated with the intensities of flame atomic emission spectrum in the range of 5~200?g/ml with a regression equation of A = 0.000 87C+0.0019(r=0.992 2). The detection limit was 5.0?g/ml. The recovery rates of a standard material added-water samples were 101.8% ~ 107.5% . The relative standard deviation was not more than 3.3% . The com-monly coexisting ions with a certain concentrations, such as K, Na, Ca, Zn, Fe, Mn, Cd,Pb and Cu, didn't interfere the determination of magnesium in water sample. Conclusion This method could be applied to determination of magne-sium in drinking water.

Objective To investigate the effect of various concentration of inhaled oxygen during exercise on reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) rats and the possible mechanism. Methods Eighty COPD Wistar rats were divided into low oxygen (LO, n=20), normal oxygen (NO, n=20) and inhaled oxygen (IO, n=20) exercising groups, which ran on tread-mill in the conditions of 13.6%, 21%, 25%oxygen, respectively, and non-exercising normal oxygen group (C, n=20), which stood on still treadmill in the condition of 21%oxygen. Their apoptosis percentage of neutrophils and ROS content were measured with flow cytometry, glutathione (GSH) in lung with immunohistochemistry and cytochrome C oxidase IV (COXIV) in skeletal muscle with Western blotting, as one and four weeks of exercising. Results For one week of exercise, the ROS was more in LO and NO groups than in C group (P<0.05), while the neutrophils apoptosis percentage was less (P<0.05);and there was no difference among C, LO, NO, IO groups in expression of GSH and COXIV (P>0.05). For four weeks of exercise, the ROS was more in LO group but less in NO and IO groups than in C group (P<0.05);while the expression of GSH and COXIV increased in NO and IO groups compared with those in C group (P<0.05). Conclusion A long term exercise in non-hypoxic state may inhibit ROS production for COPD patients, by promoting neutrophils apoptosis and antioxidant expression.

Objective To study the change of neurohormonal factors during CABG and find the effective perioperative treatments for coronary artery disease patients with high-risks. Methods Forty-eight patients were divided into on-pump CABG group(group A, n=23) and off-pump CABG group(group B, n=25). The clinical results were observed and blood samples were collected at six time-points. Angiotensin II(AG II), aldosterone(ALD), atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), insulin, glucose and cTnI levels in plasma were measured respectively. Results The AG II levels in plasma increased in both groups and reached the peak at 6 h after operation in group A and 3 h after operation in group B, respectively. The peak level of ALD in plasma were at 6 h in group A, and 0 h in group B. The level of ANP in plasma was highest at 0 h in group A, and at the midoperation in group B. The insulin level in plasma was highest at 24 h in group A and at 6 h in group B. The insulin level at 24 h in group A was significantly higher than that in group B. The glucose level reached the peak at 3 h after operation in group A and at 0 h after operation in group B. The levels of AG II, ALD, ANP and glucose in plasma in group A were significantly higher than those in group B at any time-point. The cTnI levels were highest at 24 h in both groups. The cTnI levels in group A were significantly higher than group B at time-points. Conclusion CABG can produce hyperosmotic urinative effects and hyperaldosteronism, which in CABG group is strong and persistent effects due to the hyperosmotic urinative effects and hyperaldosteronism. In OPCAB group is light and short urinative effects mainly due to the hyperosmotic. ACEI, ARB and aldosterone antagonists should be used during the perioperation of CABG. During the early postoperative period, the plasma glucose should be well controlled and GIK solution with magnesium is needed.
