Objective To evaluate the value of MSCT in differentiate cystic lesions in different cervical region. Methods Forty cases with cyst lesions in the neck which was confirmed by pathology were collected in our study. The following diseases were excluded: cystic lesions from thyroid gland and thymus or bronchus, cystic changes of solid lesions ( necrotic lymph node) and cystic or solid lesions in the parotid gland. All patients underwent MSCT scan on GE Lightspeed 16. The parameters were following: 120 kV,260 mA, thickness 5 mm, pitch 1. 375. The delay time for contrast enhanced CT was 25 seconds for arterial phase and 60 seconds for vein phase. Results Lesions were analyzed in 4 different cervical regions including parotid gland, midline, lateral cervix and posterior cervix. Among the lesions in parotid area,2 were first brachial cyst and the other 2 were epidermoid cyst. First brachial cyst occurred intraparotid gland and epidermoid cyst occurred intraparotid or extraparotid gland. Among the lesions in midline area, 17 cases were thyroglossal cysts,81.0% were in the level hyoid bone, 12 cases of thyroglossal cysts protruded at the preepiglottic space or oral base. Another kind of lesions in midline included 3 cases of epiglottic cysts and 1 epidermoid cyst in the lower level of the neck which involved infrasternal level. The 12 cases of second brachial cysts occurred in the lateral neck. Ten cases were in the left side. Type Ⅱ was the most common type and account for 5 cases among all of second brachial cysts. Type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ were running up,accounting 3 cases respectively. Type Ⅳ account for 1 case. Two cases with lymphangioma and 1 case with third brachial cyst located at the posterior neck. Conclusion According to the location and typical imaging appearance, MSCT can do the differentiation of different cystic lesions in the different area of neck.

BACKGROUND: SARS, as a kind of sudden stress source, make quite a few people present symptoms such as panic emotion, psychological allergic reaction, etc. There are also partial nurse students who worry about to be infected, fear to practice in clinical departments and live in an irritable mood, which interferes their clinical practice and affects both body and mind health.OBJECTIVE: Through the investigation of the nurse students' stress response and anxiety symptom to understand their psychological stress response scale and anxiety level during the prevailing period of SARS.DESIGN: An intersectional investigation with the nurse students doing clinical practice or probation apprentice as observative objects.SETTING: Department of Psychiatry, West China Hospital, Sichuan Univesity PARTICIPANTS: In May 2003, the nurse students of 2-4 grade doing clinical practice and probation in West China Nursing College of Sichuan University were selected as observative objects, all of whom had no record of mental illness or other severe disease, and volunteered to receive the investigation. 305 questionnaires were sent out and 299 valid questionnaires were taken back. They were 171 junior college students (47.2%) and 128undergraduates (42.8%) of 18-32 years old, average 21.51,and boy students held 4.6% while girl students 93.4%.METHODS: The crisis response questionnaire was used to investigate the nurse students' response scale to SARS crisis from three aspects such as cognition, emotion and behavior. The response grade is from 1 to 10.The total score scale is 3-30. 3 means no impairment, 3-9 means is a little impairment, 9-15 means slight impairment, 15-21 means moderate, 21-27 means significant, and more than 27 means severe. The self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) compiled by Zung in 1971 was mainly used to assess the frequency of the appearance of the symptoms defined in each item in the students being investigated, including 20 items and score in 4 grades: 1 indicates never (appear) or in a little time,2 indicates in a small part of time,3indicates in a large part of time,4 indicates almost in the whole or in the whole time. Only the matter of fact in the recent week was investigated in the above two questionnaires. The students were required to fill in the questionnaires separately on the spot, and the questionnaires were handed in as soon as they were filled out.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The nurse students' response scale and anxiety level to SARS crisis on cognition, emotion and behavior.RESULTS: 305 questionnaires were sent out and 299 were taken back, with a back rate of 98%. ①Crisis response scale: in the three aspects of cognition, emotion and behavior of the nurse students, 21.7% of them had no impairment,56.8% had a little impairment, 13.8% had slight impairment,5.4% had moderate impairment ,1.7% had significant impairment and only 0.7% had severe impairment. The score of the undergraduates on their cognition, emotion and behavior and the total score of crisis response were obviously higher than those of the junior college students (P < 0.05).②Anxiety level: the nurse students' self-assessed result was that the total score was higher than that of the average normal Chinese [(39.89±11.98,29.78±0.46),(P<0.05)],the number of them with score higher than normal level made up 82.3% and there was no significant difference in scores on SAS between junior college students and undergraduates. ③Relation between crisis response and anxiety level: the analytic result of the relation between the stress response scale and anxiety level indicated that they had relativity (r=0.685 ,P <0.01).CONCLUSION: Facing the stress response to SARS crisis, the nurse students are impaired to some extent on their cognition, emotion and behavior.Their anxiety level are higher than that of the average normal Chinese and their psychological stress response scale has positive correlation with the anxiety level.

Objective To investigate the regulatory effects of Zishen Yutai Pills on the expression levels of homeboxA10 (HOXA10) and its downstream target gene empty spiracles homebox 2 (EMX2) in the endometria of ovulation-inducing mice at different implantation stages. Methods Seventy-five estrous female Kunming mice were randomly divided into 5 groups, namely normal group, model group 1, model group 2, treatment group 1, treatment group 2, 15 mice in each group. The model group 1 was given short-term protocol for ovulation induction; the model group 2 was given long-term protocol for ovulation induction; the treatment group 1 was given Zishen Yutai pills (at the dose of 0.4 g/mL) on the basis of the protocol for the model group 1; the treatment group 2 was given Zishen Yutai Pills (at the dose of 0.4 g/mL) on the basis of the protocol for the model group 2; the normal group was given intragastric administration or intraperitoneal injection of the same volume of normal saline. The mRNA and protein expression levels of HOXA10 and EMX2 in mouse uterus were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and Western blot method, respectively. Results Compared with the normal group, the mRNA and protein expression levels of HOXA10 were decreased, and the mRNA and protein expression levels of EMX2 were increased in model group 1 and model group 2(P< 0.01). Compared with the corresponding model group 1 and 2, the mRNA and protein expression levels of HOXA10 were significantly up-regulated (P < 0.01) , and the mRNA and protein expression levels of EMX2 were decreased in the treatment group 1 and 2 (P < 0.01), respectively. Conclusion Zishen Yutai Pills may improve mouse endometrial receptivity by up-regulating HOXA10 expression and inhibiting EMX2 expression.

Objective To study the effect of moxonidine (Mox) on the His bundle electrogram (HBE) of normal rabbits. Methods A total of 24 healthy rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: control group, small dose of Mox (0.1 mg?kg -1), medium dose of Mox (0.3 mg?kg -1) and large dose of Mox (0.9 mg?kg -1). The electrode catheter was inserted from the right carotid artery to record the HBE. The HBE and the synchronism surface ECG were recorded before and after intravenous injection. Results In normal rabbits, the R-R interphase, P-R interphase of the ECG and the H-V interphase of the HBE were prolonged in a dose-dependent manner after intravenous injection of Mox. Mox exerted no significant influence on the A-H interphase. Conclusion ① Mox decreases the heart rate of rabbits in a dose-dependent manner in vivo. ② Mox dose-dependently prolongs the P-R interphase of the surface ECG and the H-V interphase of HBE. This indicates that Mox mainly acts on the intraventricular conducting system.
