ObjectiveTo investigate the changes of serum growth hormone (GH)/insulin-like growth factor- Ⅰ ( IGF- Ⅰ ) in patients with traumatic long bone fractures and the related clinical significance.MethodsTwenty-one patients with traumatic long bone fractures from the same trauma care center treated between November 2009 and April 2010 were enrolled in the study..There were 14 males and 7 females,at age range of 22-60 years (mean 45.0 years).Seventeen patients (81%) were with closed trauma and four ( 19% ) with open trauma.Enzyme Linked Immunoadsorbent Assay (ELISA) was used to determine the levels of serum GH and IGF- Ⅰ within 14 days after fractures and the relationship between changes of GH-IGF- Ⅰ axis and injury severity score (ISS) was further analyzed.Eight patients with normal GH/IGF- Ⅰ were set as control group.ResultsThe GH level in the peripheral blood was significantly higher at day 1 after fractures ( P < 0.05 ),and rapidly declined and stabilized at day 5 compared with the control group. The GH level in the patients with ISS≥ 18 points was sigmficantly higher than that in those with ISS<18 points at day 1 after fractures (P<0.05).The IGF- Ⅰ level in the peripheral blood in the patients with 1SS≥ 18 points was significantly higher than that in those with ISS < 18 points at days 5-10 after fractures ( P < 0.05 ).ConclusionThe hypothalamus GH-IGF- Ⅰ axis plays an important role in early metabolism and fracture healing during the acute phase of traumatic long bone fractures.

International Journal of Surgery 2008;35(10):681-683
Wound healing is a complicated biological process, which consists of inflammatory cells, re-pairing cells, extracellular matrix, cell factors, et al. These factors participate in the process of wound heal-ing in great harmony and coordination. The sufferers of diabetes mellitus are vulnerable to skin injury ,which often results in non-healing or healing delay, which became an urgent difficulty and warm spot unsolved in clinic. So far, especially for the last few years, great progress has been made in the mechanism of wound non-healing of Diabetes Mellitus, mainly including signal pathways, angiopoiesis, neuropeptides, advanced glycation end products, cell apoptosis and matrix metaltoproteinases.

Objective:To study the functional status of the monocytes-derived dendritic cells (DCs) plused with HBsAg from patients with chronic hepatitis B and their capacity of inducing the HBV- special cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs),and explore a new method of inducing the special anti-HBV cell-mediated immunity. Methods:Monocytes of patients were isolated from peripheral blood and incubated with GM-CSF+IL-4+TNF-? to induce DCs generation. Those DCs were pulsed with HBsAg to induce HBV- special DCs. The phenotype of DCs including CD1a,CD80,CD83,CD86,CD40 and HLA-DR was characterized by FCM and the stimulating reaction of allogenic T lymphocytes was detected by MTT assay. The concentration of cytokines such as IL-12 and IL-6 in supernate was tested by ELISA and the cytotoxicity of CTLs inducing by the DCs against HepG2 2.2.15 cells,HepG2 cells and K562 cells were detected by LDH assay. Results:The expression of CD1a, CD80, CD83,CD86, CD40, HLA-DR molecules on the DCs pulsed with HBsAg was higher than those of the control group (P

Estrogen is involved in the process of postmenopausal osteoporosis, and the main functional cells are osteoclasts. However, the mechanism of estrogen on the osteoclasts is not yet fully understood. Here we demonstrate the effects of estrogen on osteoclasts in three aspects: morphology and structure, apoptosis of osteoclasts and differentiation of preosteoclasts, which give an overall explanation for effects of estrogen on osteoclasts.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopic Miles surgery at differented periods. Methods Radical excision(Miles) was performed under a laparoscope on 33 patients from January 2002 to August 2002(group 1),and then on 34 cases from July 2006 to May 2007(group 2) in our hospital.Clinicopathological and follow-up data of the two groups were collected and analyzed. Results No significant difference was found in blood loss(50-200 ml vs 40-210 ml,Z=1.477,P=0.787),number of resected lymph nodes(both 3-5,Z=-0.089,P=0.233),gas expel(in 1-3 days after the surgery vs 1-4 days,Z=-1.622,P=0.574),and postoperative hospital stay(4-9 days vs 5-9 days,Z=-1.834,P=0.346) between the two groups. However, the patients in group 1 had significantly longer operation time and higher medical cost than group 2(175-210 min vs 120-150 min,Z=4.238,P=0.026;23400-27500 yuan vs 19863-22744 yuan,Z=5.283,P=0.003).Conclusion After 4-year development, the operation time and cost of laparoscopic Miles surgery has been decreased.

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of clopidogrel and clopidogrel in the treatment of myocardial ischemia in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods86 patients with myocardial ischemia of coronary heart disease from January 2016 to January 2017 in our hospital, were randomly divided into group A (n=43) and group B (n=43), group A was treated with ticagrelor treatment, group B was treated with clopidogrel treatment, clinical curative effect were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe total effective rate in group A was 86.04% was significantly higher than 72.09% in group B, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);The number of ST segment descent in group A was (36.17±4.22) times,ST segment continuous decline time (120.29 ±13.53) s ST continued to decline time (120.29±13.53) s, heart rate (65.27±3.18) times/min, systolic blood pressure (105.44±2.17) mmHg, diastolic blood pressure (63.11±3.14) mmHg were significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05);group A patients with triglyceride, total cholesterol, plasma viscosity trimming rate, whole blood viscosity at low shear rate, and whole blood high shear rate were significantly lower than those in group B (P<0.05).ConclusionCompared with clopidogrel, Grillo can effectively improve the blood microcirculation of myocardial ischemia in patients with coronary heart disease, coronary heart disease, relieve myocardial ischemia caused by coronary heart disease The clinical efficacy is remarkable, and it has the value of popularization and Application.

Objective To develop an assay for determining bacterial endotoxin(BE T) content in Maodongqing Compound Injection (MCI). Methods The dilution radio o f Maodongqing Compound Injection was optimized and BET content was determined by turbidimetric kinetic method. Results Dilution ratio of Maodongqing Compound In jection at 1 ∶80 did not interfere with the Limulus test. The average recovery of BET was between 50 %and 200 %. Conclusion The method is proved to be accura te,sensitive and suitable for the determination of BET content in Maodongqing C ompound Injection.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder which seriously causes the dementia in elderly people and afflicts millions of people worldwide. Drug discovery for Alzheimer's disease therapy has been a hot research area and a big challenge, in which development of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors design was the most active and some AChE inhibitors are commercially available for AD medication already. However, practical using of commercial AChE inhibitors showed their limited usefulness and related adverse effects. Thus, it is extremely urgent to find novel AChE inhibitors with higher potency and less adverse effects. Based on the accurate crystallographic studies about AChE, strategies for multi-binding site AChE inhibitors have been formed, followed by design of the multi-target directed ligands. In this review, the structures and binding modes of commercial AChE inhibitors were briefly discussed, together with the development of AChE inhibitor design for AD therapy: from multi-binding site inhibitors to multi-target directed ligands.
