Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation on Joubert syndrome. Methods 2 infants with Joubert syndrome were reviewed. Results After the treatment of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation for 4~6 months, the clinical symptoms of these 2 cases improved, and the scores of Gross Motor Function Measure increased. Conclusion Acupuncture combined with rehabilitation is effective on Joubert syndrome.

Objective To compare the risk factors of breast cancer in Ningxia Hui and Han women,and to provide evidence for the prevention and control of breast cancer.Methods The female patients of breast cancer treated at the Affiliated Hospital of Ningxia Medical University between May 2013 and July 2014 were chosen for case study,while other patients treated at the same hospital and during the same period who did not have breast cancer were selected as a control. An epidemiological survey was conducted using the same questionnaire among the two groups.The survey involved general demographic information,menstrual history,reproductive history,life habit and family history of cancer.Risk factors of breast cancer in Hui and Han nationalities were analyzed by logistic regression analysis.Results Logistic regression analysis showed that the abortion number(OR =2.631,P =0.028)was a risk factor for the occurrence of breast cancer in women of the Hui nationality,while physical exercise (OR =0.177,P =0.040)was a protective factor.Tumor suffered by immediate family members (OR =4.249,P =0.014),abortion number (OR =1.602,P =0.001 ),the age of the first childbirth (OR =1.253,P =0.001 )and the age of first marriage(OR =1.223,P =0.001 )were the major risk factors while physical exercise (OR =0.422,P =0.001 )was a protective factor against breast cancer in Han nationality. Conclusion The risk factors of breast cancer in the women of Hui and Han nationalities are consistent in terms of the total number of abortions and physical exercise.Compared with the Hui people,the age of first marriage,the age of first child birth,and tumor suffered by immediate family members also play a role in the occurrence of breast cancer in the Han na-tionality.

Objective To evaluate the impact of multiple lacunar infarction (MLI) on the outcomes of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods MCI patients were selected in outpatients and hospitalized patients using a common international standard MCI screen. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT) were used to determine the presence of MLI. MCI patients were followed up for 6～24 months and their cognitive status and the impact of MLI on MCI were evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. Results One hundred twenty patients were diagnosed as having MCI based on clinical evaluation and neuropsychological assessment. Among them, 43 (35.8%) patients had MLI and the rest 77 (64.1%) patients did not have. Twenty-seven MCI patients with MLI (62.8%) developed dementia, while 15 MCI patients without MLI (19.4%) developed dementia during 6～24 months follow-up. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated that the incidence of dementia was significantly higher in patients with MLI than in patients without MLI did (P＜0.05). Conclusions MCI patients with MLI are more prone to dementia. These results suggest that early interventions aimed at controlling the modifiable risks are warranted for dementia prevention in MCI patients with MLI.

Objective To investigate the effects of mechanical stretch on the pelvic floor dysfunction and study the regulation of mechanical stretch on the morphology and extracellular matrix mRNA expression of fibroblasts derived from human uterosacral ligament.Methods 13 patients who underwent hysterectomy surgery due to uterine benign diseases in the Obstetric and Gynecological Department of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University from October 2009 to September 2010 and had no pelvic organ prolapse were recruited in this study.Fibroblasts of uterosacral ligament were cultured by collagenase digestion and identified by morphology and immunocytochemical methods.Fibroblasts of 3 ～ 4 generations were stretched by flexcell-4000 tension system for 0,4,15,24 hours.Total RNA was extracted from the fibroblasts and mRNA of Collagen Ⅰ,Collagen Ⅲ,matrix metalloproteinase-1 and tissue inhibitor of metalloprot einase-1were measured with real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR.Results In response to mechanical stretch,the morphology and orientation of the uterosacral ligament fibroblasts were changed as well as their synthetic function.Collagen Ⅰ mRNA for 4 or 15 hours' stretch (0.777 ± 0.251,0.730 ± 0.248)were statistically down regulated compared with 0 hour ( 1.000 ±0.284),( q =4.5786,4.6458,p ＜0.05).But for 24 hours'stretch,the mRNA expression ( 1.102 ±0.308) of collagen Ⅰ restored to the level of 0 hours.The expressions of collagen Ⅲ mRNA for 4,15,24 hours' stretch (4.771 ± 0.879,6.146 ± 1.109,5.022 ± 0.907 )were statistically up regulated compared with 0 hour (1.001 ± 0.284),(q =15.9481,21.7647,17.0099,P ＜ 0.01 ).MMP-1mRNA for 4,15,24 hours' stretch (6.420 ± 2.143,23.695 ± 2.221,20.169 ±2.794) were statistically up regulated compared with 0 hour ( 1.000 ±0.414),( q =9.3421,39.1178,33.0403,P ＜ 0.01 ).TIMP-1 mRNA for 4,15 hours' stretch (0.455 ± 0.370,0.481 ± 0.386)were statistically down regulated compared with 0 hour( 1.000 ± 0.425 ),( q =6.5265,6.3106,P ＜0.05).But for 24 hours'stretch,the mRNA expression( 0.883 ± 0.538 ) restored to the level of 0 hours.Conclusions The morphology,orientation and the synthesis function of the uterosacral ligament fibroblasts can be regulated by mechanical stress.Extracellular matrix remodeling may be adaptive changes due to the mechanical stress.

Objective To investigate the levels of mieropartieles originated from platelet (PMP),endothelium (EMP),and tissue factor-bearing microparticles (TF+ MP) in diabetes mellitus and to analyze its relationship with diabetic angiopathy.Methods PMP,EMP or TF+ MP were measured in 106 cases of diabetes mellitus and 50 controls by flow eytometry.The differences of EMP between groups of diabetic macrovascular disease and diabetic microvascular disease were determined.Results The levels of EMP in diabetic patients were higher than that in the control(164.20±128.88 vs 63.81±40.84,P<0.05).Diabetic cases with complication showed higher expression level of EMP than those without complications(184.12±152.77,188.21±149.55 vs 138.53±99.87,both P<0.05).However,no distinct increase was observed in PMP and TF+ MP level in diabetes groups compared with control group.Conclusions Endothelial dysfunction,may contribute to the increased level of EMP in patients with diabetes,especially those complicated with vascular diseases.EMP level may be used to evaluate the status of endothelial function and the development of diabetic angiopathy.

ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy of acupuncture point injection for fine motor functions in children with cerebral palsy.Methods57 children with cerebral palsy were treated by acupuncture point injection combined with occupational therapy. The efficacy was evaluated by the Peabody Developmental Motor Scale-Fine Motor (PDMS-FM).ResultsThe fine motor quotient (FMQ) of 34 children (59.7%) elevated. The raw scores of grasping subtest (Gr) elevated in 45 children (78.9%) and the raw scores of visual-motor integration (VI) elevated in 53 children (93.0%).ConclusionThe efficacy of acupuncture point injection combined with occupational therapy is significant in children with cerebral palsy.

Objective To study the application value of electroencephalogram and CT in children with cerebral palsy.Methods Electroencephalogram and CT examinations were carried out in 224 children with cerebral palsy.Results Abnormal prevalence of electroencephalogram was 47.77%, 58.88% of which were found as epileptic discharge. Abnormal prevalence of CT was 79.46%. The abnormal rate of CT was significantly higher than that of electroencephalogram ( P<0.001). The abnormal rates of electroencephalogram and CT among different types of cerebral palsy were not significantly different ( P>0.05).Conclusion Combination of CT and electroencephalogram will be helpful for the diagnosis and treatment in children with cerebral palsy.

Objective To explore the three criteria of Ranson,CT severity index (CTSI) and the bedside index of severity in acute pancreatitis (BISAP) in assessment of severity and prognosis of acute pancreatitis.Methods A total of 503 diagnosed acute pancreatitis patients from January 2008 to April 2011 were studied retrospectively,including 356 mild acute pancreatitis (MAP) cases and 147 severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) cases.The differences of the three criteria of Rason,CTSI and BISAP in assessment of severity and prognosis of acute pancreatitis were compared with receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.The SAP group was divided into no organ failure group and organ failure group,and the predictive value of the three criteria in acute pancreatitis with organ failure was compared.Results There was significant differences between MAP group and SAP group with Rason,CTSI and BISAP score (x2 =236.88、126.24 and 101.27,P＜0.01).The sensitivity (97.3％) and AUC value (0.93) of Ranson criterion was highest.In no organ failure group and organ failure group of 147 SAP patients,there was significant difference between Ranson criterion and BISAP criterion (x2 =17.67 and 26.12,P＜0.01),both sensitivity were 100％,the specificity were 96％ and 85％ respectively,and the area under ROC curve (AUC) value of BISAP criterion (0.8) was the highest.In illness improved group and deteriorated group,the difference of score between Ranson criterion and BISAP criterion was significant (x2 ＝ 9.53 and 10.19,P＜0.05),and the AUC value of BISAP criterion (0.74) was the highest.Conclusions All three criteria can be used to determine the severity of acute pancreatitis.In predicting the risk of SAP with organ failure and prognosis,BISAP criterion is better than Ranson criterion.BISAP criterion is simple and easy to practice,which provides an important rule for evaluating the clinical condition of acute pancreatitis.
