Objective To discuss the effect of comprehensive intervention on the quality of life of esophageal cancer patients receiving radiotherapy.Methods 100 patients with esophageal carcinoma treated with radiotherapy for the first timewere selected between October 2012 and December 2014 in Nantong Tumor Hospital in Jiangsu Province and randomly divided into control group and observation group (n =50 in each group) with a random number table.In the control group,routine dietary instruction,fluid infusion support and symptomatic intervention were used;comprehensive intervention was added in the observation group.Scores of core quality of life questionnaire (QLQ-C30) and nutritional indexesbefore and after radiotherapy in the two groups were compared.Results There were no statistically significant differences in QLQ-C30 scores and nutritional indexes between the two groups before radiotherapy (all P＞0.05).After radiotherapy,the physical [(75.6 ±13.1) vs.(63.8 ± 12.4)] and emotional function [(61.9 ± 14.3) vs.(52.5 ± 13.7)],fatigue [(36.6 ± 13.2) vs.(45.8±15.0)],pain [(34.8±16.1) vs.(44.3±17.0)],insomnia [(49.2±15.7) vs.(57.2±14.3)],loss of appetite [(50.2 ± 16.2) vs.(59.0 ± 15.8)],nausea and vomiting [(21.5 ± 10.3) vs.(29.9 ±11.3)],general health status [(68.8 ± 13.4) vs.(58.2 ± 12.8)] inthe observation group were significantly better than in the control group (all P ＜0.05).Innutritional status,body weight [(59.3 ± 8.5) kg vs.(54.4 ± 7.3) kg],body mass index [(21.9 ±2.1) kg/m2 vs.(18.4 ±2.8) kg/m2],hemoglobin [(125.9 ± 8.9) g/Lvs.(107.3±9.5) g/L],albumin [(35.1±6.9) g/Lvs.(29.0±5.3) g/L],and prealbumin [(213.54 ±37.47) mg/L vs.(174.56 ±36.26) mg/L] in the observation group were all higher than thosein the control group after radiotherapy (all P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Comprehensive intervention for esophageal cancer patients receiving radiotherapymay improve nutritional status,reduce esophagitis,thirsty,fatigue,loss of appetite and other symptoms,improve the quality of life,ensure the completion of radiotherapy.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of concentration, intestinal section and borneol on the intestinal absorption of salvianolic acids. The experiment not only studied the intestinal absorption properties of three concentrations of rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid B and salvianolic acid A at duodenum, jejunum and ileum, but also of salvianolic acids compatible with borneol at different concentrations using single-pass intestinal perfusion model in rat with phenol red as the marker. The results showed that salvianolic acids was stable under weak-acid condition and affected by metabolism enzyme; The Peff and Ka significantly different among three concentrations of rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B, whose intestinal absorption were saturated in high concentration, suggesting that the transport mechanisms of rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B were similar to active transport or facilitated diffusion; However, there was inconspicuousness in the Peff and Ka of salvianolic acid A at different concentrations, whose absorption was not saturated in high concentration, indicating that the transport mechanisms of salvianolic acid A was passive diffusion; The Peff and Ka in the ileum obviously higher than those in the duodenum and jejunum, namely the ileum was the best absorption section; When concentration of borneol increased, the enhancing effect of intestinal absorption of salvianolic acids increased, but significantly decreased when borneol increased to some degree. The enhancing effect of medium borneol concentration was the optimum. This implied that borneol can enhance the intestinal absorption of salvianolic acids, and the capacity of enhancing effect was influenced by the concentration of borneol.

Objective To investigate the change of the content of polysaccharides in crude and processed Fructus Corni,thus to approach the process mechanism of Fructus Corni.Methods The content of polysaccharides in the crude and processed Fructus Corni was determined by phenol-sulfuric acid method.Results After processing with wine,the content of polysaccharides of Fructus Corni decreased from 10.12 %(content of total polysaccharidesbeing 51.41 %) to 5.91 %(content of total polysaccharidesbeing 53.10 %),decreased by 41.60 %as compared with that in the crude Fructus Corni.Conclusion After processing with wine,the content of polysaccharides decreases markedly.The results provide certain evidence for approaching the process mechanism of Fructus Corni.

Objective To evaluate t le effects of various mutants of PAK6 kinase on the proliferation of prostate cancer cells and their roles in the pathology of prostate cancer. Methods Variant mutants of PAK6 kinase, including wild type ( WT),kinase activated type (SN) and kinase inactivated type (KM) , were in vitro constructed according to the PAK6 sequence,and were transfected into the LNCaP cells by Lipo-fectamine. G418 was used to select the stable cell line. Phosphorylated PAK6 antibody was used in Western blot to detect the kinase expression in the eel.s. The proliferation rate was measured by MTT assay;the growth effects of the cells stimulated by androgen were also recorded and compared. Results Different LNCaP cell lines expressing wild type, kinase activated and kinase inactivated PAK6 were prepared successfully. Objective To investigate the expression and the significance of toll-like receptor 3 (TLR-3)in placenta,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in maternal and cord blood of idiopathic fetal growth restriction(IFGR),and their correlation with the pathogenesis of symmetric and asymmetric IFGR.Methods From April 2008 to April 2009,42 primiparae of singleton pregnancy and their IFGR babies,who delivered at term through cesarean section, in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were enrolled. All subjectects were divided into symmetric IFGR group (n=20) and asymmetric IFGR group (n =22). Another 42 non-IFGR pairs were randomly selected as the control group. The polink-2 plus polymerized horseradish peroxidase (HRP) immunohistochemical method and the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were applied to detect TLR-3 and TNF-α levels. Results (1) The expression of TLR-3 protein were observed in all maternal placenta of the three groups. TLR-3 essentially expressed in syncytiotrophoblasts and hofbouer cells in the symmetric IFGR and control group, but expressed mostly in hofbouer cells and less in syneytiotrophoblasts in the asymmetric IFGR group. (2) The expression of TLR-3 in the syncytiotrophoblasts of the symmetric and asymmetric IFGR group was significantly lower than in the control group (111±14 and 118±11 vs. 156 ± 9, P<0. 01). The number of TLR-3 positive in Hofbourer cell in the symmetric IFGR group was lower than the control group (8. 9±2. 8 vs 17.5±2. 8, P <0. 01 ), but the number in the asymmetric IFGR group was higher (23.8±3.7) compared with the control group (P <0. 01). (3) The TNF-α levels in the maternal and cord blood of the symmetric and the asymmetric group were higher than that of the control group [maternal : (90±10) μg/L and ( 86±11 ) μg/L vs. (73±9) μg/L;cord blood: (92±12) μg/L and (96±8) μg/L vs. (79±9) μg/L;P<0.01]. (4) Neither symmetric nor the asymmetric IFGR group showed any correlations between the maternal and cord blood levels of TNF-α (P>0. 05). (5) Significant correlation was found between the TNF-α level of the cord blood and TLR-3 expression in the placenta in both the symmetric and asymmetric IFGR group(P<0. 05),but no relationship was found between the maternal blood TNF-α level and TLR-3 expression in the placenta (P>0. 05). Conclusions The variantions of TLR-3 expression in placenta and the increased expression of TNF-α in cord blood are associated with the genesis IFGR. The reduced expression of TLR-3 may related to symmetric IFGR, while the increased TLR-3 level in hofbouer cells may lead to asymmetric IFGR.

Objective To determinate the heavy metal cadmium content in rice to ensure food safety.Methods Several brands and batch numbers of rice were collected and divided into groups A and B.Group A contained 24 pieces of rice from the canteens,and group B involved in 22 pieces from the farm product markets.Cadmium content in rice was detected quantitatively with X-ray fluorescence spectrometer,and then evaluated according to GB 2762-2012 which determined rice was not qualified in case cadmium content was more than 0.2 mg/kg.Results Group A had cadmium content between 0.00 and 0.477 mg/kg,the times of ultra standard being 2.385 and the disqualification rate being 29.2％ (7/24),and group B had cadmium content between 0.065 and 0.619 mg/kg,the times of ultra standard being 3.095 and the disqualification rate being 68.2％ (15/22).Excessive cadmium content in rice occurred in both canteens and markets,while the canteens was better than the markets.Conclusion X-ray fluorescence spectrometer detects cadmium content in rice rapidly and simply,and is worthy promoting in elementary facilities.

Objective To explore the impact of NaF · EDTA-K2 on blood lipids measurement in pregnant women , determine whetherthe empty-stomach plasma for OGTT could be used as substitute for serumin blood lipids analyses.Methods Fastingplasma with NaF · EDTA-K2 and serumfrom 100 pregnant women werecollected,andconcentration of CHO,TG, HDL,LDL,apoA1 and apoB were tested with Hitachi 7 600 automatic biochemical analyzer.Data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software.Results The concentrations oflipids and lipoproteins with NaF · EDTA-K2 were slightly lower than those of serum.There were statistical significances between the means of CHO , HDL, LDL, apoA1 and apoBof two groups ( P<0.05) except TG.Correlation coefficients of the six analyteswere CHO 0.968, TG 0.995, HDL 0.979, LDL 0.991, apoA1 0.692, apoB 0.846respectively.Standard Error of Estimate for plasma were: CHO 0.281, TG 0.094, HDL 0.077, LDL 0.112, apoA1 0.230, apoB 0.111 respectively.The modified coefficients were 1.08 for CHO, HDL and LDL, 1.14 for apoA1 and 1.07 for apoB.Conclusion NaF· EDTA-K2 negatively biased the blood lipidsmeasurement of CHO , HDL, LDL, apoA1 and apoB in pregnant women,yet lipids concentrations in plasma with NaF · EDTA-K2 were closely related to those in serum , which may be used to predict the bloodlipidslevel of pregnant women afterajusted.

Objective To explore the effect of diabetic liaison nurses on controlling blood sugar levels in patients with hyperglycemia in department other than endocrinology. Methods Four hundred diabetic patients with high blood sugar were selected from January to December, 2014 in department other than endocrinology. They were divided randomly into 2 groups equally:the control group and the observation group. The control group received traditional nursing care, while blood sugar management was carried out by diabetic liaison nurse in the observation group. Result Pre-discharge sugar metabolism in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The diabetic liaison nurses in other departments than the endocrinology department can help control blood sugar levels in patients with hyperglycemiain.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the performance of computer-aided detection (CAD) system for detection of pulmonary nodules in 64-slice low-dose CT screening and to investigate whether CAD can improve the performance of radiologists in detecting pulmonary nodules.MethodsOne hundred low-dose screening CT examinations were randomly selected from the database containing 578 consecutive cases between Jun 2007 and Jun 2008.All the examinations were performed on a 64-MSCT scanner with the exposure of 120 kVp,30 or 40 mA,or automatic exposure control.Before the study started,the screening reports had been made with double reading by two radiologists.All the selected images were analyzed with the lung VCAR software from GE Healthcare with a nodule diameter threshold 3.0 mm.All discrepancies between the screening reports and the CAD results were reviewed and the true non-calcified nodules were determined in consensus by two experienced chest radiologists.Detected nodules were classified by density,size and location.The performance of the double reading and the CAD system were compared and analyzed statistically.McNemar-Bowker test was used for the statistical analysis.ResultsA total of 257 true noncalcified nodules were determined in all 100 low-dose screening CT examinations.The detection rate of CAD system was 91.1％ (234/257),with the missed rate of 8.9％ (23/257).Twenty three nodules were missed by CAD,in which 10 were solid with the diameter ranged from 2.4 to 6.0 mm,and 13 were nonsolid with the diameter ranged from 2.1 to 8.6 mm.Of the 23 nodules,17 were located in the outer zones of lungs and 6 in the inner zones.The double reading showed a detection rate of 59.1％ ( 152/257 )and a missed rate of 40.9％ ( 105/257),which was significantly lower than CAD.The diameter of all the 105 missed nodules by radiologists were ranged from 2.4 to 11.8 mm,in which 94 nodules were solid,10 were partly solid and 1 was nonsolid,with 69 located in outer zones of lungs and 36 in the inner zones. Conclusions The capability of the CAD system for detecting non-calcified pulmonary nodules is superior to double reading in low-dose screening CT examination,especially for the nodules located in the inner zone of the lung.When lung VCAR is used,nonsolid pulmonary nodules are more easily missed so that it should be paid more attentions by radiologists.

ObjectiveTo establish a new method for preparing synaptosomes.MethodsDensity gradient centrifugation method was used to isolate synaptosomes of mouse, checking by transmission electron microscopy.ResultsSynaptosomes prepared by this method had intact morphological characteristics, surrounding with a continuous oval-shaped membrane structure, moreover, mitochondrion and lots of synaptic vesicle in them.ConclusionThis method is applicable to establish a rapid, convenient and useful method for preparing synaptosomes.
