Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(03):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of laparoscopic operations in the treatment of ovarian endometriosis cysts. Methods We compared clinical data between 52 cases of laparoscopic operation for ovarian endometriosis cysts (Laparoscopy Group) and 75 cases of open operation for ovarian endometriosis cysts (Open Group) in the same period. Results The operation time was significantly shorter in the Laparoscopy Group (61 4?9 3) than in the Open Group (72 6?7 1) ( t =7 692, P =0 000). The time to first flatus was significantly earlier in the Laparoscopy Group (25 3?4 1 h) than in the Open Group (49 8?6 9 h) ( t =22 935, P =0 000). The postoperative pyrexia rate in the Laparoscopy Group (9/52) was significantly lower than that in the Open Group (31/75) ( ? 2 =8 216, P =0 004). There were no significant differences on the remission rate of dysmenorrhea between the Laparoscopy Group (26/37) and the Open Group (34/51) ( ? 2=0 128,P =0 818) and on the postoperative pregnancy rate between the Laparoscopy Group (5/22) and the Open Group (7/25) ( ? 2 =0 171, P =0 747). Conclusions Laparoscopic operation for ovarian endometriosis cysts is as effective as open operation, being an ideal alternative.

Highly active adherent LAK cells (A-LAK) with monocytes depleted by phenylalahine methyl ester (PME) were cultured from peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Results showed that A-LAK cells cultured in about 14 days had expanded better and faster than that of nonadherent LAK cells (NA-LAK) with their greatest expansion varied from 23 to 243 fold .A-LAK cells showed a trend of increase in TH cell subgroup and decrease in Ts cell sub-group as well as significant difference of TH/TS ratio. The IL-2R expression increased from 34.1%to 64.3%. A-LAK cells had a higher cytotoxicity (64.6%)than that of NA-LAK cells (42.8%).Further clinical application of A-LAK cells may improve biotherapeutic effect on HCC patients compared with that of NA-LAK cells .

Objective[WT5”BZ] To evaluate the role of radionuclide 99m Tc EHIDA for hepatobiliary imaging in rats with orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) [WT5”HZ]Methods[WT5”BZ] Male SD rats were divided into 2 groups: normal controls (NL, n =10)and normal rats with OLT (NL OLT, n =8). Dynamic scintigraphy using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) was used for hepatobiliary imaging. [WT5”HZ] Results[WT5”BZ] The time of peak activity (t max ) and half peak activity(t 1/2 ) in the liver and intestine (GI) imaging time (min) in NL and 6 uncomplicated NL OLT rats were 3 05?0 31 vs. 3 63?0 65 ( P 0 05), respectively. The time active curves and imaging of NL OLT rats were similar to that in NL rats. The t max and t 1/2 in the liver, GI imaging time and the time active curves in 2 complicated NL OLT rats were significantly different compared with that of NL rats. Radionuclide leak occurred in 1 NL OLT rat.[WT5”HZ] Conclusions [WT5”BZ] Radionuclide 99m Tc EHIDA effectively monitors both structural and functional changes of the liver graft. [WT5”HZ]
