Purpose To analyze the 64-row spiral CT manifestations and evaluate the diagnostic value in early primary ureteral carcinoma.Materials and Methods Fifteen cases of early primary ureteral carcinoma proved by surgery and pathology were reviewd.Unenhanced scan,enhanced scan in arterial phase,parenchymal phase,delayed phase and CPR construction were performed in all patients.MIP were performed in 10 cases.Results ① the localization of lesions:7cases were located at the right ureter and 8 cases at the left.2 cases were located at the upper portion of the ureter,6 at mid portion,and 7 at lower portion;② CT manifestations:8 cases showed irregular thickened wall and central lumen stenosis,4 cases eccentric soft tissue mass in lumen and crescent or linear vestigial lumen,3 cases soft tissue density and obsolescent lumen;③the enhanced features:the tumor was demonstrated apparent and uniform enhancement in 13 cases,inhomogeneous enhancement in 2 cases after administration of contrast medium;④ the accompanied signs:proximate renal and ureteral presented distention,dropsy in different degrees,5 cases appeared delayed development.Conclusion 64-row spiral CT volume scan and 3D reconstruction with multiplane and multiorientation,combined with axial enhanced scan,can show lesions dimensionly and increase the dignostic accuracy in early primary ureteral carcinoma,which has an important value.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of peppermint oil capsules combined with domperi-done in the treatment of bile reflux gastritis(BRG)after gastric surgery.Methods Totally 47 patients with BRG after gastric surgery were treated with peppermint oil capsule (0.9g,tid)and domperidone(10mg,tid).Each patient's gas-troscopic manifestations and histopathology were rechecked after 4 weeks.The efficacy was observed on the improve-ment of symptoms and gastric mucosal injury,and on the reduction of bile reflux.Results 42 patients attained satis-factory therapeutic effect with the total efficiency rate of 89.4%.No adverse effects during the treatment period. Conclusion Peppermint oil capsules combined with domperidone shows better efficacy in treatment of BRG after gastric surgery.

Objective To screen single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)of DNA methyltransferase 1 gene in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).and to investigate the significance of abnormal expression of DNA methyltransferase in the pathogenesis of SLE.Methods Peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)were obtained from 11 patients with SLE and 12 normal human controls.DNA was extracted from the PBMCs.and PCR was performed to amplify some exons(1 to 7)and corresponding introns followed by direct sequencing.Results There was a 21397T/C SNP in the intron 7 between exon 7 and exon 8 of DNA methyltransferase 1 gene in patients with SLE.The frequency of CC homozygote increased in patients with SLE compared with that in normal controls(5/11 vs 1/12,X~2=4.10,P＜0.05).Conclusions There is a 21397T/C SNP in DNA methyltransferase 1 gene in patients with SLE.which may be a component of genetic background underlying the abnormal expression Of DNA methyltransferase 1.

Objectiv To evaluate the usefulness of dot immuno-gold filtration assay(DIGFA) for the diagnosis of Paragonimus infection.Methods During 2003 to 2006,72 cases suspected of paragonimiasis in Zhejiang Province were examined with DIGFA for rapid detection of specific antibodies against Paragonimus(Pw-DIGFA).The diagnosis was primarily established with the presence of antibodies,experience of ingesting raw freshwater crabs or crayfishes and clinical presentations.The cases were treated with praziquantel and followed-up at 3 and/or 6 months post-treatment.Antibody level in patients(pre-and post-treatment) were detected in parallel and analyzed comparatively by Pw-DIGFA and ELISA.Results The result of detection by Pw-DIGFA was in agreement with that of ELISA.28 of 72 cases were antibody positive and 44 cases were negative.Among the 28 positives,26 cases had a history of eating raw freshwater crab or crayfishes and the other 2 cases drank freshwater from brook before.21 cases showed paragonimiasis-related clinical symptoms such as low-grade fever,cough,or changes in image examination,while the other 7 cases showed only eosinophilia in peripheral blood(15%-70%).The mean absorbance values(A450) of positive sera,negative sera and normal sera tested by ELISA were 1.7361,0.2973 and 0.2657 respectively.There was significant difference between the positive cases and the negative cases(t=12.047,P0.05).At 3 month post-treatment,serum antibody in 5 cases whose clinical symptoms and physical signs relieved or disappeared decreased 2-5 titers and that of one case who relapsed with new signs increased by one titer.In Pw-DIGFA,the dot color of 5 cured cases showed a little weaker than that of pre-treatment and the relapsed case displayed similar response.At 6 month post-treatment,7 sera of clinically cured cases showed significantly weaker response than that of pre-treatment.The antibodies of those sera dropped 3-6 titers.Conclusion Pw-DIGFA is of supplementary value for clinical diagnosis of paragonimiasis.Antibody detection by pre-and post-treatment using Pw-DIGFA shows potential for the evaluation of therapeutic effect.

Objective To investigate the effects of nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) on the ovary in rats. Methods Forty female SD rats in normal estrous cycles were randomly divided into PBS group and NDGA group, subcutaneously injected of PBS solution and 3% NDGA at the dose of 30 mg/kg respectively every other day for 16 d. The serum concentrations of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estrogen (E 2) and progesterone (P) were measured by chemiluminoimmunoassay before and after administration and the mating was confirmed by the occurrence of vaginal plugs and the morphological changes of uterus and ovaries were examined by immunohistochemistry after administration. Results None of the NDGA-treated rats were able to successfully mate as the absence of vaginal plugs were detected. Objective To study the expression of bivalent DNA vaccine against Schistosoma japonicum in vitro/vivo and lasting time in vivo. Methods The bivalent DNA pVIVO2-SjFABP/Sj23 was transfected transiently into the human embryonic kidney cells of the line 293. RT-PCR was used to detect the expressions of SjFABP and Sj23 mRNA in the 293 cells. Indirect immunofluorescence antibody test(IFAT) was used to detect the expressions of SjFABP and Sj23 proteins. Twelve BALB/c mice were inoculated with pVIVO2-SjFABP/Sj23 via intramuscular injection. Two blood samples were collected from eye sockets and two mice were vivi-perfused each month. This work lasted for 6 months. IFAT was used to detect the expression of proteins in skeletal muscle. Western-blot was used to detect the serum IgG level. Results RT-PCR and IFAT showed the expressions of SjFABP and Sj23 in the HEK-293 cells. IFAT showed SjFABP/ Sj23 was present in vivo at least for 6 months. Special IgG was not detected by Western blot. Conclusions pVIVO2-SjFABP/Sj23, bivalent DNA vaccine, could express correctly in vitro/vivo, and lasts for 6 months at least in vivo.

Objective To investigate the effects of nordihydroguaiaretic acid(NDGA)on the embryos growth and decidualization of rat by intrauterine perfusion and to investigate the new medication for planned parenthood.Methods Fifty-six pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into NDGA-treated group(N)and PBS-treated control group(P)and blank control group(B).By intubation,NDGA or PBS was perfused into the uterus on embryonic day 1(E1)and day 7(E7).Rats were killed on E9 to calculate the number and measure the diameter of the embryos,as well as the number and weight of litters.The expression of VEGF,PCNA and FⅧRAg in deciduas and placenta were detected by immunohistochemistry and image analysis.The serum concentration of progesterone on E9 was measured.Results In comparison with two control groups,the number and the diameter of embryos after perfusion were decreased with NDGA treatment on E1(P0.05).Conclusion NDGA can inhibit the growth of early embryo and interfere with the progress of decidualization obviously by intrauterine perfusion,but has little effect on the serum concentration of progesterone.

By using thrombolysis therapy,34 patients suffering from actue myocardial infarction were treated .And by comparing chromium,cobalt,nickel,vanadium and molybdenum contents in serum of 34 patients suffering from acute myocardial infarction with that of contrast group and the contents between before-treatment and after-treatment,following results were revealed;treatment before chromium,cobalt,nickel,vanadium and molybdenum contents in serum of the patients were low and there is great difference between the patients and control groups(P0 05).
