Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics and antibiotic sensitivity of Salmonella infection in children with diarrhea in Zhongshan City for rational use of antibiotics. Methods A total of 6 920 stool specimens were collected from children with diarrhea including outpatients and inpatients in Zhongshan Boai Hospital from September 2009 to April 2013.Salmonella strains (n = 344)were isolated and identified by enrichment culture. The overall infection rate was 5.0%(344/6 920).Antimicrobial susceptibility was tested by VITEK-2 Compact automicroscan. Results Of the 344 strains of Sal-monella,185 (53.8%)strains were Salmonella typhimurium ,43 (12.5%)were Salmonella stanley ,29 (8.4%)were Sal-monella enteritidis .The male-to-female ratio was 1.8∶1 for the children with diarrhea. The infection rate was 68.9% (237/344)in children under 1-year old.Susceptibility testing results indicated that majority (88.9%-98.0%)of these Salmonella strains were susceptible to levofloxacin,piperacillin-tazobactam,cefepime,ceftazidime,and ceftriaxone, but to ampicillin, 39.2% of the strains were susceptible. Conclusions Most Salmonella infections in Zhongshan City were caused by Salmonella typhimurium, followed by Salmonella stanley and Salmonella enteritidis .Such infections usually peak in summer and autumn seasons. The chidren under 1-year old were more susceptible to Salmonella infections.Higher incidence of infection is associat-ed with boys.Antibiotics should be chosen reasonably and prudently based on antimicrobial sensitivity testing.

Objective To explore the role of intracranial electrode EEG monitoring for localizing epileptogenic zone in epilepsy. Methods 20 patients with refractory temporal lobe epilepsy, whose seizure onsets were unable to be localized by MRI、routine EEG and clinical characteristic, accepted long-term intracranial electrode EEG monitoring.Bitemporal lobe subdural implanted trip electrode were used to perform the ictal and interictal EEG monitoring under the guiding of the stereotactic technique. The results routine of EEG,MRI and intracranial electrode EEG were combined. The accuracy for localization of epilepitogenic zone was evaluated based on the followed-up.Results The intracranial electrode EEG monitoring was implanted within 1~5 d.Each patient was recorded the ictal and interictal discharge and was detected clinical onsets at least twice. All patients could be localized by ictal EEG.The consistency between interical EEG and ictal EEG were observated in 15 cases, the inconsistency in 3 cases, and 2 cases were bilateral discharge in interictal. The clinical outcome showed that patients were seizure-free in 13 cases(65%),improved significantly in 3 cases(15%),improved in 3 cases(15%),unimproved in 1 case(5%)according to Engel's criteria after surgery. No significant complication was found in all patients. Conclusion The intracranial electrode EEG monitoring can localize epileptogenic zone and offer reliable evidence for epilepsy surgery.

Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2017;32(1):72-74
Tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy (TIC) is defined as a kind of cardiomyopathy with cardiac dilatation and dysfunction secondary to sustained or recurrent tachyarrhythmia.Myocardial dysfunction can wholly or partially recover after control of the responsible tachyarrhythmia.TIC,a reversible acquired cardiomyopathy with generally benign prognosis, can occur at any age;however,it often proves to be unrecognized by most of pediatricians in clinical practices. Now,the clinical criteria, pathogenesis, characteristics, therapy and prognosis of pediatric TIC were summarized,so as to provide a clinical basis for early recognition and prompt therapy.

Objective To investigate the effects of nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) on the embryos growth and decidual development in rats. Methods Fifty pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into NDGA-treated group(N)and control group (P), which were given subcutaneous injection of NDGA or PBS on embryonic day 1(E1), E7 and E14, and then killed on E6 and E9. The number of implantations was calculated, the diameter of the embryos was measured and the numbers and weight of neonates were recorded. The expressions of VEGF, PCNA and FⅧRAg in the deciduas and embryos were detected by immunohistochemistry and then made image analysis. The serum concentrations of progesterone on E9 were measured. Results The number of implantations were decreased with NDGA treatment on E1 (P

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(10):-
Objective To investigate the effects of nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) on the ovary in rats. Methods Forty female SD rats in normal estrous cycles were randomly divided into PBS group and NDGA group, subcutaneously injected of PBS solution and 3% NDGA at the dose of 30 mg/kg respectively every other day for 16 d. The serum concentrations of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estrogen (E 2) and progesterone (P) were measured by chemiluminoimmunoassay before and after administration and the mating was confirmed by the occurrence of vaginal plugs and the morphological changes of uterus and ovaries were examined by immunohistochemistry after administration. Results None of the NDGA-treated rats were able to successfully mate as the absence of vaginal plugs were detected. The endometrium could maturate in all of the NDGA-treated rats, but there had a decrease not only in the number of endometrial glands, but also the proliferation rate of the glandular epithelial cells, the endometrial stroma cells, the vessels and the microvacular density (P
