To discuss the availability of evaluation on the dissolution studies of the multicomponents in traditional Chinese medicine, the in vitro dissolution of total composition of the tablet of rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong components and its correlation with the in vivo were studied by the method of area under the absorbance-wavelength curve (AUAWC). Taken the tablet of rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong components which is composed of sodium ferulate and ligustrazine hydrochloride as subject model, the dissolution tests were carried out with basket method. The plasma concentrations of tablets in different rats were determined by AUAWC at different interval times. The in vivo absorption percentage was calculated by Wagner-Nelson equation to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo correlation. According to the results, the cumulative dissolution in vitro of total composition of tablets of rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong components at 60 min was 90.65% in water by AUAWC. The in vivo pharmacokinetics is fitted with an one-compartment model. The linear equation based on the cumulative dissolution rate (fr) and absorption percentage (fa) at 5, 10, 20, 30 and 60 min was fa = 0.819 7 fr+0.183 and the correlation coefficient was 0.959 5, which showed a good correlation between the in vitro dissolution and the in vivo absorption percentage. The method of AUAWC can be used accurately, feasibly and conveniently to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo correlation of total composition of tablets of rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong components, which will provide better guidance to study the in vitro and in vivo correlation of sustained release preparation etc under complex system of traditional Chinese medicine in the future.

Early diagnosis of esophageal cancer is essential for improving both the effectiveness of esophageal cancer treatment and the prognosis of patients. As a new technology for esophageal cancer early diagnosis,narrow-band imaging (NBI) enables surgeon to clearly observe the mucosa and submucosal blood vessels changes in early esophageal cancer. It has initially shown excellent application value in the early diagnosis. In particular it has obvious advantages to the ordinary white light endoscopy which is currently used in esophageal cancer early diagnosis. If combined with Lugol iodine staining, magnifying endoscopy and other diagnostic methods in clinical,NBI will have a better value in early diagnosis of esophageal.

Objective To explore the roles of humoral immunity in severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Methods The pathological changes in the SARS autopsy case and a case of lung puncture were observed by light microscopy and electron microscopy. The autoantibody and immune complexes in the sample tissues were detected by immunohistochemical staining and histochemical staining. Results There were severely diffusive damages in the lungs. The endothelial cells in blood were injured. Fibrinoid necroses of blood vessels were observed in several organs and injury of immune organs and massive autoantibody and immune complexes were found in pathologically changed tissues. Electron dense deposits were observed in the basement membrane of blood vessels and mesangial matrix of glomerulus by electron microscopy. Conclusion The SARS viruses not only cause direct damages to the tissues but also lead to immune complex mediated hypersensitivity which in turn gives rise to a large number of tissue lesions. This indicates that the humoral immunity plays an important role in the process of organ damages.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of ING4 and clinical primary breast cancer. Methods Tissue and peripheral blood samples of primary breast cancer patients were collected and the expression levels of ING4 and NF-κB in tissue samples were detected with immunohistochemistry. The expression of ING4 in the peripheral blood was detected with ELISA.Results The positive rates of expression of ING4 and NF-κB in breast cancer tissues were 100.00 % (30/30),which were significantly higher than that in the adjacent tissues 12.50 % (3/24) and 93.75 % (45/48) compared to 6.67 % (1/15) respectively.Compared with the preoperative, the ING4 level in peripheral blood from the postoperative breast cancer patients was significantly reduced (P =0.044).Conclusions The expression of ING4 does not decrease in the primary breast cancer patients. The increasing is perhaps due to the body's stress response against tumor development in early stage by secreting more ING4 protein.

Objective To explore the technique of breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Methods 30 cases of patients with breast cancer who were not suitable for breast conservative surgery were sum-marized. Among them, immediate breast reconstruction with prosthetic implants after mastectomy was used in 16 patients, transverse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous flap (TRAM flap) in 10 patients, and latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap in 4 patients. There were 27 patients who underwent immediate breast reconstruction, while 3 patients underwent delayed breast construction. Results The appearance was good in 16 cases of breast reconstruction with prosthetic implants and no complications were found. Two out of the ten patients who had the transevarse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous flap (TRAM flap) breast reconstruction had partly necrosis of skin flap, and one lateral ventral syndrome. The appear-ance of the 7 cases after the TRAM flap breast reconstruction evaluated well, 2 cases moderate, and one case less satisfactory. The appearance of 4 patients who had breast reconstruction with latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap evaluated well. Conclusion Breast reconstruction is an important part of combined therapy for the breast cancer, especially for the patients who have strong desire to conserve breast, while incompetence for breast conserving surgery. In such a case breast reconstruction is a good choice. Imme-diate breast reconstruction is better than delayed breast construction. The appropriate method of breast reconstruction depends on each individual patient. Patients with locally advanced breast carcinoma can se-lectively choose immediate breast reconstruction.
