Objective To clarify the morphological features, types, regional distributions and cell densities of gastrointestinal (GI) endocrine cells in various parts of the digestive track (DT) of Eumeces elegans. Methods Using immunohistochemical techniques of streptavidin-peroxidase(S-P) method. Results The endocrine cells found in the DT were round or oval, spindle, shuttle, pyramid, flask and bacilliform in shape. Three types of endocrine cells, namely 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) positive cells, somatostatin (SS) positive cells and gastrin (GAS) positive cells were found. No substance P(SP)-, glucagon (GLU)-, pancreatic polypeptide ( PP)- and insulin(INS) positive cells were detected. 5-HT positive cells distributed throughout the whole DT at various densities and they were most predominant cell types in the DT. SS positive cells were detected only in stomach. GAS positive cells showed a restricted distribution and were only demonstrated in the pylorus and duodenum. In the DT of E. elegans the region with the highest degree of cell type heterogeneity was pylorus and all types of endocrine cell along the DT showed peak density in the pylorus as well. Conclusion Some common features of the distribution of different types of GI endocrine cells are found between E. elegans and other reptiles. This common trait may reflect the similarity in digestive physiology of various vertebrates. On the other hand, some species-dependent unique distribution features of endocrine cells in DT were also detected in E. elegans.

Objective To study the clinical effect of Xingnaojing injection in treating patients with acute cer-ebral infarction and its influence on serum matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP -9),nitric oxide (NO)and nitric oxide synthase (NOS).Methods 112 patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups by ran-dom number table method,56 cases in each group.The control group received routine treatment for acute cerebral infarction.The observation group received routine treatment plus intravenous injection Xingnaojing.The changes of NIHSS score,motor function score and sensory function score in the two groups were compared before and after treat-ment.The serum levels of MMP -9,NOS and NO in the two groups were observed before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate of observation group was 82.14%,which was significantly higher than 64.29% in the control group (χ2 =4.553,P <0.05).After treatment,NIHSS scores of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (t =5.082,5.522,6.253,all P <0.01 ).After treatment for 3 weeks,the motor function score (69.54 ±17.82)points,sensory function score (30.58 ±7.94)points of the observation group were significantly higher than (52.93 ±14.66)points and (23.08 ±6.31)points in the control group (t =5.387,5.534,all P <0.01).After treatment,the serum MMP -9,NOS,NO levels of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (all P <0.01 ).Conclusion Xingnaojing injection in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction has good curative effect,it can promote the recovery of neurological function,improve motor function and sensory function, and by adjusting the MMP -9,NOS,NO levels to protect the nerve and blood vessel function.

Objective To study the process and mechanism of embryonic development and replacement of the teeth of Alligator sinensis. Methods The proccess of embryonic development and replacement of the teeth of Alligator Sinensis was studied by paraffin serial sections, the structure of the teeth of Alligator sinensis was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Results The tooth wrinkle appeared at the 20th day of incubation; the dental germ appeared at the 56th day of incubation; the crown appeared, and the dental germ came into the bottom of the alveolus dentalis at the 16th day after the young alligator was out of the eggshell. From one year to five year alligators, there was a dental germ at the bottom of the alveolas dentalis that would form new tooth after the old tooth was lost. Conclusion The tooth wrinkle might motivate embryonic development of the teeth of Alligator sinensis ; the dental germ at the bottom of the alveolus dentalis formed directly the new tooth in the process of tooth replacement. Objective To investigate the way of gene therapy on congestive heart failure and other heart diseases. Methods Recombinant adeno associated viruses (AAV) encoding the human ? 2 adrenergic receptor(AR) and enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) were constructed and the ? 2 AR and EGFP cDNA were transfected in vitro to the neonate rat ventricular myocytes. The expression of ? 2 AR and EGFP on cultured neonate rat ventricular myocytes and the ability of ? 2 AR to potentiate the beta adrenergic signaling were assessed. Results The presence of human ? 2 AR mRNA was demonstrated by Northern blot, the expression of the ? 2 AR gene was demonstrated by Westernimmuno blot. The density of ? AR in the myocytes was greater than that in the control 〔(204.0 ? 6.4) fmol/mg protein vs (76.0 ? 2.8) fmol/mg protein〕 according to a ligand binding assay. Human ? 2 AR gene significantly increased isoproterenol stimulated cAMP as compared with the control〔(116.2?5.8) pmol/10 6 cell vs (58.4 ? 4.6) pmol/10 6 cell〕. EGFP was also expressed in the transfected cardiomyocytes. Conclusions Human ? 2 AR gene could be transfected into cardiomyocytes by AAV vector and could potentiate the beta adrenergic signaling.

[Objective]To measure the verus inclination of the proximal tibial of young Chinese through radiographs and determine how many degrees should the femoral prothesis be externally rotationed during total knee arthroplasty(TKA).[Method]Standardized anteroposterior radiographs of the entire lower legs of 200 volunteers' were taken. Two angles were measured as followes:Angle PT: angle between tibial articular margins and a line perpendicular to the tibial mechanical axis;Angle FT:angle between the transcondylar tangent anda line perpendicular to the tibial mechanical axis. [Result]Angle PT has a mean value of 4.06? and Angle FT is 5.00?. [Conclusion]When the posterior condylar axis is used during TKA for Chinese, the femoral prothesis should be externally rotationed 5.00? to get the optimum rotational orientation.

Objective To investigate the long-term therapeutic effectiveness of transplantation of adrenals for the treatment of Addison's disease in the past 15 years. Methods Nine cases subject to adrenal transplantation were followed up for a long-term and the outcome after 15 years was evaluated. Results Seven cases of graft adrenal survived. In 6 patients, urine 17-OHCS, urine 17-KS and serum cortisol were normal. The remaining two grafts out of the 9 cases didn't survive and they had abnormal levels of urine 17-OHCS, urine 17-KS and serum cortisol. Conclusion The transplantation of adrenals for the treatment of Addison's disease had a good long-term effectiveness.

AIM:To establish an HPLC method for determining geniposide and liquiritin in Zhizi Baipi Decoction(Fructus Gardeniae,Cortex Phellodendri Chinensis,Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae). METHODS: A Kromasil C_(18) Column(4.6 mm?250 mm,5 ?m) was used.The mobile phase was methanol-0.5% glacial acetic acid for gradient elution.The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min,?_1=238 nm(detect the geniposide),?_2=276 nm(detect the liquiritin).The column temperature was at 30 ℃. RESULTS: The linear range of geniposide was within 49.1 ?g/mL-147.4 ?g/mL,r=(0.999 8),the recovery was(99.40%)(n=9).The linear range of liquiritin was within 6.1 ?g/mL-18.4 ?g/mL,r=(0.999 9),the recovery was 99.94%(n=9). CONCLUSION: This method has good reproducibility.It can be used for quality control in the production of Zhizi Baipi Decoction.

Objective To investigate the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (bone marrow stem cells,BMSCs) through different approaches in the treatment of transplanted cirrhotic model in rabbit effect difference.Methods Establishment of rabbit model of carbon tetrachloride cirrhosis with liquid olive oil mixture of subcutaneous inj ection and ethanol fed,the liver cirrho-sis models were randomly divided into cirrhosis model group (n=10),hepatic artery transplantation group (n=10),ear vein trans-plantation group (n=10).Healthy New Zealand rabbits bone marrow,using the method of whole bone marrow adherent cultured bone marrow BMSCs,and then were transplanted and serum albumin,alanine aminotransferase in 3 ways;by HE staining,the de-gree of hepatic cirrhosis and detection of serum albumin by Western blot expression in liver.Results Through the vein group and ar-tery transplantation group BMSCs to cirrhotic model in rabbit,4 weeks after the discovery of liver transplantation group rabbits were significantly improved,serum albumin is liver cirrhosis without transplantation group increased significantly(P<0.05),transami-nase is liver cirrhosis without transplantation group decreased significantly (P<0.05).The therapeutic effect of 2 ways of BMSCs transplantation on rabbit liver cirrhosis had a significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Transplantation of BMSCs through the ear vein and the hepatic artery of rabbit after 4 weeks of treatment of liver cirrhosis,liver function can be improved.But the hepatic artery transplantation therapy is obviously better than that of intravenous transplantation of treatment effect.

Objective: To establish a HPLC method for the determination of liquiritin、 liquiritigenin and iso liquiritigenin in Licorice Mixture.Methods: A Cromasil C 18 column was used. the mobile phase was methanol 0.5% acetic acid for gradient elution. Liquiritin、 liquiritigenin and iso liquiritigenin were determined by dual wavelength, ? 1=276 nm,? 2=372 nm.Results: The linear range of liquiritin was 50.0～1250.0ng, r= 0.9999; The average recovery was 98.30%, RSD =1.01%( n= 6). The linear range of liquiritigenin was 5.0～125.0 ng, r= 0.9998; The average recovery was 98.01%, RSD =0.68%( n= 6). The linear range of iso liquiritigenin was 3.0～6.0 ng, r= 0.9999. The average recovery was 98.37%, RSD= 0.89%( n= 6). Conclusion: This method is convenient, rapid and accurate. It can be used for quality control in production of Licorice Mixture.
