[Objective]To analyze the result of mini-type T plate for treatment of Mason type-III radial head fracture.[Method]Seven cases of Mason type-Ⅲ radial head fractures,6 male and 1 female,including 2 cases with radial neck fractures,were treated by open reduction and mini-type T plate fixation associated with Kirscher wires.If necessary,bone graft was placed between radial head and neck.[Result]The patients were followed up for an average of 20.3 months(ranged from 14 to 39 months).All fractured radial heads were heal and no case appeared ischemic necrosis.According to the Brobrg and Morrey functional elbow index,the averaged score was 87 points and the outcome was excellent in 2 patients,good in 4,the excellent and good rate was 85.7%.[Conclusion]Treatment of Mason type-Ⅲ radial head fractures by open reduction,mini type T plate fixation assocated with Kerscher's wire and autogenous bone graft showed a high union rate of fracture and satisfactory joint function but no ischemic necrosis with the advantages of reservation of radial head and decreasing the rate of re-section and prosthesis replacement.Further observation should be taken to get more clinical cases number.

This paper reports a novel design of bionic left ventricular auxiliary pump, and the characteristic is that elastic diaphragm of pump driven by hydraulic, having smooth, reliable blood supply, can prevent blood clots, can use the flow sensor, pressure sensor detection showing the blood pressure and blood volume at the inlet and outlet of the pump. The pump can go with heart rate synchronization or asynchronous auxiliary by the R wave of human body's ECG. The design goal is realization of bionic throb. Through the animal experiment, the blood pressure waveforms are close to expectations, stable flow can stroke according to the set value, which prove that the pump can meet the requirement for heart disease patients for bionic left ventricular assistant.

[Objective] To observe protective effect of taurine, a main component of Calculus Bovis and Scorpio, on diaphragm in diabetic rats. [Methods] Twenty-four SD rats were equally randomized into normal control group, model group and taurine group. Except the normal control group, the other rats were given intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin 50mg/kg to induce diabetic models. Taurine group was fed with 10g/L water solution of taurine, and the other two groups with water for 4 weeks. After treatment, the rats were executed and the isolated diaphragm strips were prepared. Single contraction (SC) , maximum titanic tension, contraction time, half relaxation time, force-frequency curve and fatigue index (FI) of the diaphragm strips were examined. The contents of blood sugar, superoxide dismustase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the diaphragm were detected and the diaphragm ultrastructure was also observed. [Objective]To investigation the relavant genes to the pathogenesis and metastasis of osteosarcoma,and to discuss the significance of gene expression in the pathogenesis and metastasis of osteosarcoma. [Method]Two well-known ATCC osteosarcoma cell lines and an osteoblastic cell line were collected.After the total RNA was extracted,the finally synthesized biotinylated cRNAs were hybridized to SBC arrays.After the design and synthethesis of the primers,four of the differentially expressed genes were then chosen at random to further confirm the array results using the SYBR Green real-time RT-PCR method in freshly collected osteosarcoma specimens and the cell lines.The data analysis depended on the ABI Prism 7300 system.[Result]By an entrance limit of ≥2.0 or ≤0.5,189 up-regulated and 84 dowm-regulated genes which were considerable differentially expressed in the two osteosarcoma cell lines compared with the osteoblastic cell line hfob1.19 were finally detected.Many of the genes were first reported to be related to the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma.The array results were further confirmed by the real-time RT-PCR.[Conclusion]Many genes are involved in the pathogenesis and metastasis of osteosarcoma.It is helpful to apply gene array to find the laws of gene expression and to study the gene-gene interactional relationships in this tumor.

Objective To explore the effect of SZ-685C on rat pituitary adenoma GH3 cell line.Methods MTT method evaluated its effect of proliferation and inhibitory concentration 50 (IC5o) on GH3 cells,after treated by 0,2.5,5.0,7.5,10.0,12.5,15.0,17.5,20.0 and 30.0 μmol/L SZ-685C for 48 h,GH3 cells were changed to complete medium for 12 d,crystal violet staining was used to investigate colony formation; microscopy and Hoechst 33342 staining assay observed whether the changes of morphological as the result of apoptosis,then detected cell apoptosis by flow cytometry.Results SZ-685C had a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on GH3 cell proliferation and IC50 was (12.9 ± 0.47) μmol/L,MEF(considered as a control group) had little affect in cell proliferation on the concentration of IC50.Inhibitory effects persisted even on removal of SZ- 685C after 12 d,and SZ-685C blocked colony formation ability of pituitary tumor cells.Apoptotic morphological observation of microscope and Hoechst 33342 staining proved apoptosis during treatment of SZ-685C,flow cytometry detection showed that SZ-685C induces 36.4％ of apoptosis,while only 2.0％ in control group.Conclusion SZ-685C inhibits pituitary tumor cell proliferation and induces apoptosis.SZ-685C can be a new anti-patuitary tumor drug for a further study.

Objective To investigate the values of urine neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL), kidney injury molecular-1 (KIM-1) and interleukin-18 (IL-18) in the diagnosis of acute kidney injury (AKI) in children after cardiopulmonary by-pass (CPB). Methods Sixty-seven patients who had undergone CPB were recruited from March to June 2013 and assigned to acute kidney injury group (AKI group) or non-acute kidney injury group (non-AKI group) according to the pediatric RIFLE (pRIFLE) cri-teria. Serum and urine samples were collected from each patient at 30 min, 2 h, 4 h, 24 h, 48 h and 72 h after CPB for serum and urine creatinine, urine NGAL, KIM-1 and IL-18. All the data were evaluated by receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC) analysis and area under curve (AUC) analysis. Results Twenty-three cases (34.3%) had AKI in 67 children after CPB. Among them 15 cases were risk-stage AKI, 4 cases injury-stage AKI, 3 cases failure-stage AKI and 1 cases loss-stage AKI. The levels of urine NGAL/Ucr were higher in AKI group than those in non-AKI group at 4h, 48h and 72h after CPB (P<0.05). The cut-off value of NGAL/Ucr was 1.200 at 4 h after CPB, the sensitivity and specificity for prediction of AKI were 0.864 and 0.561, and the AUC was 0.671 (95%CI:0.537-0.804). The levels of urine KIM-1/Ucr were higher in AKI group than those in non-AKI group at 48h and 72 h after CPB (P<0.05). The cut-off value of KIM-1/Ucr was 1.162 at 24h after CPB, the sensitivity and specificity for prediction of AKI were 0.773 and 0.512, and the AUC was 0.698 (95%CI:0.563-0.834). The levels of IL-18/Ucr were higher in AKI group than those in non-AKI group at 4 h after CPB (P<0.05). The cut-off value of IL-18/Ucr was 0.04 at 4 h after CPB, the sensitivity and specificity for predici-ton of AKI were 0.773 and 0.561, and the AUC was 0.655 (95%CI:0.510-0.800). Conclusions It is indicated that urine NGAL, KIM-1 and IL-18 may have important clinical values for early prediction of AKI.

AIM: To investigate the effect of ischemic preconditioning (IP) on myocardial Bcl-2 expression and mitochondrial structure during heart valve replacement surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass. METHODS: Fifty-four patients were prospectively randomized to receive or not ischemic preconditioning (IP) before cold cardioplegic arrest. Ischemic preconditioning in the IP patients (n=22) was induced by a single 2-min ischemia followed by 3-min reperfusion just before aortic clamping and cold crystalloid cardioplegia for myocardial protection. The control group (n=32) received no ischemic preconditioning before cold cardioplegic arrest. The levels of ejection fraction (EF), fractional shortening(FS) and stroke volume (SV) in both groups were measured and compared. troponin T (c-TnT) level, Bcl-2 protein expression and microscopic changes of myocardial mitochondrial structure were recorded for each group before and after surgery. RESULTS: The level of EF, FS and SV in IP group was higher than those in control group (P<0.05). No significant difference in preoperative c-TnT levels between two groups was observed. The level of c-TnT in IP group was lower than that in control group and with a declining trend over time of 6 h, 24 h, 48 h, 72 h and 5 d after surgery, respectively. The preoperative positive unit of Bcl-2 expression between two groups showed no statistical difference (P> 0.05). Postoperatively, the positive unit of Bcl-2 expression in IP group was 19.85±5.88, significantly increased as compared to the preoperative value (P<0.05). In control group, the positive unit of Bcl-2 expression was 14.17±3.39, showed no statistically significant difference to the preoperative value (P>0.05). Postoperative Bcl-2 expression between two groups showed a significant difference (P<0.05). In the control group, microscopic observation revealed swollen mitochondrion, with a hardly visible or disrupted membrane for some mitochondrion;mitochondrial crista were obviously dissolved and loose with a large number of vacuoles formation. However in IP group, myocardial mitochondrion appeared with intact membrane, concentrated mitochondrial cristae with high electron density and no vacuoles formation was observed. CONCLUSION: IP may up-regulate the expression of myocardial anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 to protect the mitochondrion, thus protecting cardiocytes and cardiac functions.

ObjectivesTo study the expression of lipoxygenase-12 (12-LOX) in human pancreatic adenocarcinoma and its relationship with the clinicopathological parameters.MethodsExpression of 12-LOX in pancreatic carcinoma tissue,pancreatic cancer cell lines SW1990 and PANC1,and adjacent normal pancreatic tissue was detected by using immunohistochemistry,RT-PCR,and Western blot,respectively.The relationship between 12-LOX expression and clinicopathological parameters was analyzed.ResultsExpression of 12-LOX was negative in 8 cases,weak positive in 7 cases and strong positive in 15 cases of pancreatic carcinoma.The overall positive rate in pancreatic carcinoma was 73.3％.The expressions of 12-LOX mRNA and protein were positive in pancreatic cancer cell lines SW1990 and PANC1,and negative in adjacent normal pancreatic tissue.The strong positive expression of 12-LOX in pancreatic cancer was associated with TNM stage,pathological grade,lymph node metastasis (P ＜ 0.05 ).ConclusionsThe expression of 12-LOX was up-regulated in pancreatic cancer and is correlated well to malignant behaviors of tumor.
