Objective To investigate effects of mini-invasive treatment for patients with vascular malformations in oral and maxillofacial region . Methods 8 cases with vascular malformations in oral and maxillofacial deep or special region were injected pingyangmycin into vein lake by color ultrasound-guided needle aspiration. Results All cases were cured and no facial nerve was damaged. Follow-up ranged from 6 months to 1 year, and no recurrence was found. The vascular malformations of 4 cases in maxillofacial deep region were disappeared or instead of fiber tissue with MRI detection 6 months after treatment. Conclusions Injecting pingyangmycin by color ultrasound guided-needle aspiration for patients with vascular malformations in oral and maxillofacial deep or special region is effective, safe and mini-invasive treatment.

Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) and interleu-kin 1α(IL-1α) before and after warm acupuncture therapy in the patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH ) .Methods Serum CGRP and IL-1αcontents were detected before and after the warm acupuncture therapy in 60 cases of lumbar disc herniation and 15 healthy control cases by ELISA method for conducting the statistical analysis .The changes of the McGill pain scores and serum CGRP and IL-1αconcentrations before and after the warm acupuncture therapy were observed .Results The McGill pain scores af-ter the warm acupuncture therapy in the LDH patients were significantly decreased ,the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .01) ,and serum CGRP and IL-1α concentrations were significantly decreased ,the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .01) .Conclusion CGRP and IL-1αcan be used as the observation index of the effects for the warm acupuncture therapy in trea-ting LDH ,which can provide the basis for the conservative treatment of LDH .

Objective To investigate the effect and recurrence of the esomeprazole combined with trimebutine on treatment for non-erosive reflux disease(NERD).Methods One hundred and twenty-five cases of patients with NERD were randomly divided into the treatment group (n =62) and the control group (n =63).Patients in treatment group were received the esomeprazole 20 mg,twice a day and trimebutine 0.2 g,3 times a day,in control group were received the esomeprazole 20 mg,twice a day and mosapride 5 mg,3 times a day. After 8 weeks treatment,6 months follow-up was conducted and the effects and recurrence were evaluated. Results The clinical curative rates at 4th and 8th weeks treatment in treatment group were 75.8% (47/62) and 95.2% (59/62),higher than that of control group (57.1% (36/63),x2 =4.879,P =0.027 ; 84.1% (53/63),x2 =4.083,P =0.043).The GERDQ curative rates at 4th and 8th weeks treatment in treatment group were 72.6% (45/62),93.5% (58/62) respectively, significantly higher than that of the control group (52.4% (33/ 63),x2 =5.434,P =0.020 ; 79.4% (50/63),x2 =5.350,P =0.021).The recurrence rates of 6 months followup were 77.4% (48/62) in the treatment group and 81.0% (51/63) in the control group, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P =0.627).Conclusion Esomeprazole combined with trimebutine is safe and effective treatment on non-erosive reflux disease, and the recurrence rates was lower than that in the control group.

Objective:To compare the efficacy of six different irrigation techniques on smear layer removal.Methods:60 single-rooted teeth were prepared. The root canals were irrigated with NaOCl at 20 ℃ or 60 ℃,and activated with side-vented needle,pas-sive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI)and EndoActivator (EA)irrigation techniques respectively. Then teeth were randomly divided into 6 groups(n =1 0):20 ℃-PUI group,20 ℃-EA group,20 ℃control group,60 ℃-PUI group,60 ℃-EA group and 60 ℃ control group.Smear layer was observed under thermal field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM)and scored according to the cri-teria specified by Hulsmann M.Results:The smear layer removal effect in 60 ℃ groups was better than that in 20 ℃ groups (P <0.05),and better in 20 ℃-EA and 20 ℃-PUI groups than in 20 ℃ control group(P <0.05).Conclusion:The temperature of NaOCl is the main factor influencing the smear layer removal,NaOCl at 60 ℃ is more effective than that at 20 ℃.

Zebrafish was selected as model animal, and glucocorticoid dexamethasone was used as a model compound to establish a rapid and high efficient osteopenia model. Zebrafish larvae at 4 days post fertilization (dpf) were exposed to a serial concentrations of dexamethasone solutions, and 0.5% DMSO was selected as the vehicle control group. All groups were incubated in 24-well plates (28.5 degrees C) until 9 dpf. In addition, effects of 10 micromol x L(-1) dexamethasone on preventing against osteopenia induced by etidronate disodium were also investigated. Zebrafish bones at 9 dpf were stained with alizarin red. Quantitative analysis of the stained area was performed by microscopic inspection and digital imaging methods to reflect the amount of bone mineralization. Results showed that dexamethasone group at 2.5, 10 and 25 micromol x L(-1) can decrease the staining area and the staining optical density values of zebrafish head bones when compared with the vehicle control group (0.5% DMSO), which suggested that dexamethasone can significantly reduce the zebrafish mineralized bone and the bone mineral density. Results also showed that 15 and 30 microg x mL(-1) etidronate disodium can increase the mineralized matrix of zebrafish head bone and prevent against osteopenia induced by dexamethasone. In conclusion, the study indicated that zebrafish can be an idea osteopenia model induced by dexamethasone.
