To assess the effect of prostaglandin E_1(PGE_1)on renal blood flow and serum endothelin of liver recipients. Methods PGE_1 was administered in 38 liver recipients at the dose of 0.6?g?kg~(-1)?h~(-1)during liver transplantation and every day after operation. The effects of PGE_1 on serum endothelin concentration and creatinine(Cr)were observed and these indexes were compared with those in the control group(n=18).The renal blood flow resistance indexes(RI)were measured by Doppler ultrasound. Results Cr and RI were significantly lower in PGE1=treated group than those in the control group.PGE_1-treated group also showed a significantly lower serum endothelin concen- tration. Conclusion Administration of PGE_1 in liver recipients can significantly improve the early re- nal function by reducing serum endothelin concentration and dilating renal blood vessels.

ObjectiveTo analysis the clinical efficacy of using lateral homodigital flaps based on digital artery perforator to repair the fingertip defects. MethodsFrom October 2008 to August 2010,nine patients with twelve fingertip defects, including 5 thumbs,2 index fingers,3 middle fingers,2 ring fingers, underwent repair with lateral homodigital flaps based on digital artery perforator. The size of the flaps ranged from 2.7 cm× 1.4 cm to 3.1 cm× 1.8 cm.The donor site were covered by skin graft. ResultsEleven flaps survived. One case met with partial necrosis. The follow-up time ranged from 3 to 6 months(average of 4.5 months). The finges had good appearance.Ten cases had gained full postoperative sensory recovery and the two-point discrimination was 4-Smm at 3 months after operation.ConclusionUsing the flaps pedicled with digital artery perforator is a feasible solution for treatment of fingertip defects.

To study photosynthetic characteristics and its influencing factors in leaves of medicinal plant Mirabilis himalaica, and provide an evidence for guiding artificial planting and improving the quantity. The light-response and diurnal photosynthesis course of leaves at the booting stages of 1-3 year old M. himalaica were measured with LI-6400 system. The Results showed that the light response curves were fitted well by non rectangle hyperbola equation (R2 > or = 0.98). The values of the maximum photosynthetic rate (Pmax) and light use efficiency of three-year old M. himalaica leaves were higher than those of 1-2 year old individuals. The diurnal variation of net photosynthetic rate (Pn) and stomatal conductance (Gs) of 2-3 year old M. himalaica were typical double-peak curves determinately regulated by stomatal conductance. However, transpiration rate (Tr) of 1-3 year old plants leaves were single-peak curve, which was self-protection of harm reduction caused by the higher temperature at noontime. Correlation analysis showed that the changes between photosynthetic active radiation (PFD), air temperature (T ) and Pn, were significant positive related. Therefore, M. himalaica is a typical sun plant, which should be planted under the sufficient sunshine field and prolong the growing ages suitably in order to improve the yield.

Aim To observe the effect of pyrimidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) on the variance of disc morphology and the expressions of TNF-α, MMP-9 in the cervical disc in cervical dynamic equilibrium rat models, and to investigate the roles of PDTC in the process of intervertebral disc degeneration and the mechanism involved. Methods Fifty-four SD rats were divided into three groups randomly, then the dynamic equilibrium rat model was established by cutting the nuchal superficial and deep muscle of the rats. The dynamic equilibrium rats with PDTC solution intraperitoneal injection after operations were defined as PDTC group (group A), the models with saline intraperitoneal injection after operations as saline group (group B), the rats of fake operation with saline intraperitoneal injection as blank group (group C), and the animals were sacrificed in batches 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks respectively after operation. The C5, C6 vertebrae and C5/6 discs were harvested, and the disc morphology was observed.TNF-α, MMP-9 mRNA expressions were detected by q-PCR and protein expression was observed by Western blot. Results Compared with the saline group, the morphology of disc in PDTC group was destructed slightly and fiber ring arranged orderly.TNF-α, MMP-9 gene and protein expressions had no obvious changes (P>0.05) in blank group (group C) at each time point. The expressions of IL-6, MMP-9 mRNA increased with time in group B, but the amount increased fast firstly, and slow lately, reaching peak in 12 weeks. The expression of TNF-α, MMP-9 protein became steady in group B from 10 weeks compared with other time points(P>0.05).TNF-α, MMP-9 genes and proteins expression decreased obviously in PDTC group (group A) compared with saline group (group B) (P<0.01) at each time point, but higher than blank group C(P<0.01) at each time point. Conclusions TNF-α and MMP-9 are important inflammatory factors involved in rat cervical disc degeneration, PDTC relieves the degeneration of rat cervical disc by reducing the expression of TNF-α and MMP-9 via disturbing the NF-κB signal pathway probably, and PDTC may become potential medicine for disc degeneration.

Heterokaryon incompatibility is a widespread phenomenon among fungi, controlled by specific loci termed het (for heterokaryon incompatibility). This review focuses on recent developments in our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of nonself recognition and the relationship between the death progresses of heterokaryon incompatibility and associated proteins in fungi. The deep research of heterokaryon incompatibility mechanism will hopefully reveal underlying principles of the evolution of nonself recognition systems and will find some effective method for settling the instability of protoplast fusant of fungi.

Many bioactive peptides from neural and endocrine tissue are amidated at C-terminals,which is essential for their activities. The ?-amide comes from post-translational modification that is catalyzed by ?-AE (?-amidating enzyme) or PAM (pepdilylglycine ?-amidating monooxygenase). The gene encoding ?-AE was amplified with PCR and cloned into the plasmid pET-30a.After the recombinant plasmid pET-A was transformed into E.coli BL21,the ?-AE was expressed and purified by the Ni2+affinity chromatography, which has the ability catalyzing Dns-Tyr-Val-Gly to Dns-Tyr-Val-NH2.It identified that the recombinant protein producing by E.coli BL21 is ?-AE,which will benefit for studies of amidation at the C-terminals of peptides.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of superselective renal artery embolization in the treatment of iatrogenic renal hemorrhage. Methods The iatrogenic renal hemorrhage in fifteen patients was first demonstrated by renal arterigraphy to diagnose the rupture site and degree of injury. And then they were treated by percutaneous catheterized superselective renal arterial embolization through guidance of guide wire. Results In all 15 patients, the occlusive ruption of bleeding arteries and disappearance of extravasation staining were found after the superselective catheterized renal arterial embolization. Clinically, the bloody urine turned clear without macroscopic hematuria during 1-3 days in all patients after the procedure. Conclusions Superseclective renal arterial embolization treatment signified a less invasion, less complications, good hemostatic efficacy, and maximal preservation of renal tissue and function for iatrogenic renal hemorrhage. The treatment is worthy to be recommended.
