Based on the lethal rate, positive and negative mutation rate, the optimal doses of UV, HNO2, UV + AO treating S. hygroscopicus NND-52-29 were determined. The mutant strain A19 that was obtained showed the derepres-sive property to glucose and the nigericin yield of A19 could be increased by 128%. When it was subcultured combined with natural screening, its stability was rather satisfied.

Conclusions Transactivation competence of genotype B HBx was higher than that of genotype C HBx, while the antiproliferative and apoptosis effects of genotype B HBx was lower than of genotype C HBx. B and C genotype-specific functional differences of HBx may closely co-related with the pathogenicity of HBV.

Objective To construct a suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) library of human renal cell carcinoma. Methods Poly A + RNA was isolated from human renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tissues and matched normal kidney tissues, respectively. Then double strand cDNA were synthesized and restricted by Rsa I.RCC cDNA were divided into two groups and ligated with either adaptor 1 or adaptor 2.After RCC cDNA hybridized with normal kidney cDNA twice and underwent nested PCR,the PCR products were cloned into pT Adv vector and transformed E.coli TOP10F′.Some positive clones randomly picked up were digested and sequenced. Results The SSH library contained 414 positive clones. Random analysis of 265 clones with enzyme restriction showed that 246 clones contained cDNA fragments which were distributed mainly between 300～900 bp. Among 40 arbitrary clones derived from the above 246 clones, No.170 clone is a previously unknown sequence and the other 39 clones were derived from 35 known genes. Conclusions The quality of the SSH library of human RCC is reliable and its construction would lay the foundation for further screening differentially expressed genes in RCC.

Simultaneous concurrence of subacute thyroiditis and Graves' disease is rare.We present one case of subacute thyroiditis with Graves' disease and combine with other reports to explore the clinical characteristics and therapeutic considerations.If subacute thyroiditis is considered coexisting simultaneously with Graves' disease,radioactive iodine uptake,thyroid autoantibody,fine-needle aspiration of thyroid gland,thyroid nuclide imaging examination,etc,should be done to make correct diagnosis and to adjust the therapeutic plan.

Objective To study image findings of nonossifying fibroma.Methods The pathological and image findings fo 22 cases of nonossifying fibromas proved by operation were analysed.There were 12 cases of male and 10 cases female,with age ranging from 10 to 35 years(mean age 17 years).X-ray plain films were obtained in all 22 cases,CT images in 7 cases,and MRI in 2 cases.Results The tumors were located in long bone in 19 cases,in which 14 cases were located in metaphyses,2 cases in diaphyses and 2 cases in bone end,and 4 cases in irregular bone,which was seen in clavicle,rib,illum and maxilla respectively.The tumor maximum diamneter ranged from 2 to 6.5 cm,with mean diameter of 3.2 cm,and the ratio of longitudinal to transverse diameter was 2.51.The tumors were round,oral or mild lobular in 17 cases.The tumors were showed sclerotic borders in 20 cases,and no sclerotic border in 2 cases(clavicle and rib).Septum was demonstrated in 19 cases.Bone expasion was showed in one case.Conclusion If a tumor is located in cortex or marrow of long or irregular bone which is showed a welldefined lytic lesion with sclerotic rim,the diagnosis of nonossifying fibroma will be considered.

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatiography (ERCP),ultrasonography (US) and CT scanning on cholagio-pancreatic diseases caused by clonorchis sinensis infection.Methods The results of US,CF and ERCP examination in 65 cases of obstructive jaundice caused by clonorchiasis and confirmed by presence of imagoes or eggs in feces or bile juice were analyzed and compared retrospectively.Results US examination was the simplest and most convenient which was characterized by diffuse even dilatation,thickening of walls,strengthened echo with the shape of“equal sign”intrahepatic bile ducts.The characteristic findings of CT included saccular dilatation of bile ducts of the periphery of the liver,thickening of the walls of bile ducts.Under duodenoscopy,32.3% (21/65) of cases presented as abnormal papilla such as small opening,mucosa outward turned,trapping or stiffness.Alterations in ERCP were characterized by shm or oval filling defect,diffuse saccular dilatation of terminal intrahepatic bile ducts.The most common complications included cholangiolithiasis (40%,26/65),carcinoma of bile duct on papilla (9.8%,6/65),and pancreatitis (1.5%,1/ 65).Conclusions Three methods were all useful for diagnosis of cholangio-pancreatic diseases caused by clonorchis sinensis infection,which were identically characterized by diffuse saccular dilatation of terminal intrahepatic bile ducts.The gold standard of diagnosis was the presence of imagoes or eggs in bile juice aspirated by the route of ERCP.Endoscopic sphincterectomy with postoperative vermifugal was the first choice of the treatment.
