Objective To investigate the effect of exogenous hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) on H2 S concentration and cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) expression in hippocampus in a rat model of vascular dementia (VaD). Methods A rat model of VaD was induced by using the modified four -vessel occlusion. The rats were divided into sham operation, model, low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups using the random number table method. They were further redivided into one day, seven -day, and 30-day subgroups according to the time after modeling. After modeling respectively, NaHS 30 μmol/kg and 100 μmol/kg were injected intraperitoneally every day in the low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups. The normal saline was injected intraperitoneally every day in the sham operation group and the VaD model group. Morris water maze test was used to evaluate the learning and memory ability of the rats. The expression of CBS in hippocampus was detected by real-time fluorescent polymerase chain reaction. Western Blotting was used to detect expression of CBS protein in hippocampus. Results Morris water maze test showed that the escape latencies of the model group, low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups were prolonged significantly compared with the sham operation group (P <0.05); the times of crossing the platform were decreased significantly compared with the model group (P <0.05); and the escape latencies were shortened significantly in the low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups compared with the model group ( P <0.05). The H2 S content in hippocampus was decreased significantly in the model group, low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups compared with the sham operation group, but the low -dose and high-dose NaHS group was significantly higher than that in the model group (all P <0.05). The expression of CBS mRNA and protein in the model, low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups was significantly lower than that of the sham operation group (all P < 0.05), and there was no significant difference between the low -dose and high-dose NaHS groups and the model group. Conclusions Exogenous H2 S may improve the learning and memory ability of the VaD rats. It may be associated with the increased H2 S content in hippocampus. However, it has no effect on CBS expression.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2015;(3):305-308
Objective:To study the effects of ascorbic acid on BMP-2 mRNA expression of osteoblast cell sheets. Methods:Rat os-teoblasts were primaryly cultured and identified;osteoblast cell sheets were built by physical scraping method in vitro;the osteoblast cell sheets were cultured with 1 5,50 and 85 mg/L ascorbic acid for 1 and 2 weeks respectively, and the expression of BMP-2 mRNA of the cell sheets was detected by RT-qPCR.Results:The obtained cells were conformed to be osteoblasts. The osteoblast cell sheets could be rolled into tube in vitro. The expression of BMP-2 mRNA of osteoblast cell sheets in experiment group, whether in week one or week two was higher than that in control group,50 mg/L group showed the highest expression(first week P <0.05;second week P>0.05);the expression of any group in week two was higher than that in week one(P <0.05).Conclusion:Ascorbic acid may pro-mote the expression of BMP-2 mRNA in osteoblast cell sheets.

International Eye Science 2006;6(2):282-290
· AIM: To summarize the clinical features of Chinese primary congenital glaucoma and to investigate the discrepancies of the clinical features between the Chinese and Indian patients.congenital glaucoma patients were reviewed. The clinical features were summarized as several quantifiable clinical parameters and the severity of the disease was evaluated. Both the quantified clinical features and severity were statistically compared with those of the Indian patients, which were cited from the previous published articles.included in the study. In Chinese patients, sex ratio (male to female )was about 2:1, family history was presented in 3 patients (7.5%) and consanguinity was found in one patient (2.5%). The main symptoms and signs observed in Chinese patients spanned a wide spectrum of manifestations. The most frequent signs noted on the initial examination were enlarged eyeball (42.5%) and decreased visual acuity (35.0%). Compared with Indian patients, Chinese patients had a later onset, a delayed diagnosis, more severe corneal changes and more severe optic nerve damages (P<0.01). The combined tabeculectomy and trabeculotomy operation was preferred by both Chinese and Indian doctors whereas a higher proportion of Indian patients received the combined operation (P<0.01). The proportions of the severity grade were different between Chinese and Indian patients. Most Chinese patients were in the severe grade while most Indian patients were in the very severe grade (P<0.01).patients were sporadic and non-consanguineous.Compared with Indian patients, Chinese patients had a relative later onset, a delayed diagnosis and treatment.More attempts are needed in Chinese PCG prevention and treatment.

Objective To investigate the prognostic factors of cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions treated by cold knife conization with negative margin. Methods Two hundred and sixty-six women with cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions treated by cold-knife conization with negative margins at Beijing Hospital between Jan 1999 and Jan 2004 were analyzed retrospectively. All patients were followed up with cytology,high-risk human papillomavirus(HPV)test and eolposcopy if necessary. Results The cervical CIN recurrence rate was 8.6% with no incidence of invasive cervical cancer after a median follow-up of 46 months. The recurrence was related to the grade of lesions and gland involvement pathologically. One of 20(5.0%)cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)Ⅱ,9 of 164(5.5%)cases with CIN Ⅲ(excluding carcinoma in situ,CIS)and 13 of 82(15.8%)cases with CIS recurred(P
