Objective:To investigate the correlation of dentofacial structure and the sagittal size of the upper airway in youthful nonsnoring men with malocclusion.Methods:Lateral cephalometry was carried out in 52 nonsnoring males with malocclusion. The average age of the patients was 19.23 years, with a range of 18 to 24 years. Stepwise regression analysis was used to relate those cephalometric parameters to the sagittal airway size at different levels.Results:SNB angle,S-N length and H-C_3 length were the related variables to superior posterior airway space(SPAS). H-C_3 length,SNB angle and L1-MP angle were the related variables to middle airway space(MAS). SNB angle,H-C_3 length,S-N length and L1-MP angle were the related variables to inferior airway space(IAS).Conclusion:The sagittal upper airway size in youthful nonsnoring men with malocclusion is correlated to the dentofacial structure and the hyoid position.

[Objective]To report the mid-term results and main points of modular femoral prosthesis in total hip revision surgery for Paprosky type Ⅲ bone defect of the proximal femur.[Method]Nine cases of Paprosky type Ⅲ bone defect of the proximal femur were treated with modular femoral prosthesis MP and ZMR from May 2003 to October 2006.There were 5 males and 4 females with the age range of 39-65 years(mean age 57 years).All the patients were followed up for 8-34 months(mean 19 months).Causes for revision included loosening and osteolysis of primary cemented prosthesis in 7,and coral face prosthesis sterile loosening in 2.The shortest time from the last operation to the revision was 4 years,and the longest was 12 years.There were 5 of type ⅢA and 4 of type ⅢB according to the Paprosky bone defect classification.[Result]The Harris score was 35 points(28-54) before operation and 85(70-90) after operation.Seven patients walked without the help of crutches,one had a mild pain in the thigh and a leg crispation of 2.5 centimeter,and the other having a medium pain in the thigh limping with a crutch.No significant loosening,infection or osteolysis of distal femur was found.One prosthesis sinking 12 mm in 1 case.[Conclusion]Total hip revision surgery for Paprosky type Ⅲ femoral bone defect using modular femoral prosthesis has optimal mid-term results.It offers stabilization both in the initial and late stages.Due to the separation of prosthetic stem from the proximal prosthesis,the implantation is easy to fix.Modular femoral prosthesis,which is benificial to control offset,anteversion angle,and limb length makes the total hip revision surgery simpler and safer.

[Objective]To discuss the postoperative effect of the posteromedial structure injury (medial collateral ligament,MCL,posterior oblique ligament,POL) of the knee.[Method]Fourteen cases of complex posteromedial structure injury were treated from January 2002 to October 2007,twelve of which combined with ACL injury and two combined with PCL injury.Classification of posteromedial structure injury:typeⅠ,8 cases,ruptured from the femur with small bone fragment;type Ⅱ,2 cases,ruptured from the femur without bone fragment;typeⅢ,2 cases,the structure were torn from the body area,and type Ⅳ,2 cases,ruptured from the tibia.The injury were repaired by different techniques according to the classification.Eight cases applied star-shaped steel plate,four with GⅡ anchor screws(2 attached to the femur and 2 to the tibia adhesion respectively),and 2 cases with end-to-end suture.The ruptured ACL and PCL were reconstructed by arthroscopy.Autologous semitendinosus and gracilis were used for 8 ACL reconstruction and B-T-B technique for the other two ACL reconstruction.Two ruptured PCL were reconstructed with allograft of Achilles tendon.[Result]All cases were followed up for twelve months at average(6-18 months) except two cases only for four months.The functional score of the knees were improved from 56.7(50-60) preoperatively to 81.2(74-94) postoperatively in average valued by Lysholm system.Ten cases received normal knee flexion and extension range after repair of the posteromedial structure while 2 cases with restricted 5 degree extension.Nine cases received excellent result in lateral stress test while 2 cases with "+" and 1 case with "++" at zero angle.[Conclusion]Early repaire for the posteromedial structure injury will deliver excellent knee stability.

[Objective]To explore the value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for articular cartilage lesions after bone bruise of distal femur under arthroscopy.[Method]Articular cartilage lesions of 29 cases of distal femur bruises diagnosed by MRI were examined under arthroscopy,12 cases of them combined with medial and lateral meniscus injury,17 combined with anterior cruiciate ligament rupture.[Result]The distal femur articular cartilage lesions examined under arthroscopy were corresponding to MRI findings.The lesions showed by arthroscopy were in direct proportion to MRI.These lesions were classified into Ⅰ-Ⅳ degrees.[Conclusion]Arthroscopic examination showed correspondent result to MRI findings for articular cartilage lesions.Sometimes MRI couldn't deliver the severity of cartilage lesions because of instrument factors.Arthroscopy is considered as the golden standard of evaluation for articular cartilage lesions after bone bruises.

OBJECTIVE:To determine the contents of chicoric acid in three different pharmaceutical dosage forms by RP-HPLC.METHODS:Samples were determined on VP-ODS C18,with the mobile phase consisted of methanol-1% acetic acid-tetrahydrofuran(33∶62∶5) with flow rate at 1.0 mL?min-1,UV detection wavelength at 327 nm,column temperature at 30 ℃ and sample size at 20 ?L.RESULTS:The linear range of chicoric acid was 0.398 72～3.987 2 ?g(r=0.999 8).The average recoveries of the oral liquid,capsules,and tablets were 99.85%(RSD=0.98%),102.50%(RSD=1.84%),and 100.50%(RSD=1.69%),respectively.CONCLUSION:This method is accurate,reproducible,specific,and suitable for the content determination of chicoric acid.

Objective To explore the role of protein kinase(PKC)in the nosogenesis of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods Twenty-four seven-day-old SD rats were divided randomly into normal group (N),model control group(C)and HIE group(HIE).The biochemistry techniques of SDS-PAGE and western bolt were used to examine the level of PKC membrane translocation of cortex and hippocampi.Results The level of PKC membrane translocation of cortex and hippocampi in N group was 0.28±0.02,0.29±0.02 respectively,and 0.29±0.02,0.30±0.02 in C group,and 0.38±0.04,0.40±0.06 in group HIE.The level of PKC membrane translocation of cortex and hippocampi was higher in HIE group as compared with that in N,C group(P＜0.01),but there was no different between N group and C group(P＞0.05).Conclusion PKC are activated in HIE,which indicates that PKC may involve in the pathophysiologic mechanism of HIE.

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of arthroscopic surgery for the treatment of first-time shoulder dislocation combined with Bankart lesions.Methods Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 35 cases who were admitted into our hospital from June 2015 to October 2016 and underwent arthroscopic surgery for the treatment of first-time shoulder dislocation.All the 35 cases were combined with Bankart lesions,and the lacerated glenoid labrum were repaired with suture anchorsy.The postoperative ASES scroe and Rowe score were adopted for the final evaluation.Results All the 35 cases were followed up for 1 to 6 months,3 months averagely.All the patients had satisfactory shoulder function,with no shoulder dislocation occured again.The ASES score and Rowe score after surgery was better than that before surgery with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Arthroscopic surgery for the treatment of first-time shoulder dislocation combined with Bankart lesions has many advantages such as mini-invasion,rapid recovery and satisfactory outcome in function and motion.

Objective To study the protective effects of aldioxa tablets on aspirin-induced gastric mucosal lesions in rat model. Methods Sixty healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: Ⅰ (injury group), Ⅱ (control group), Ⅲ (sucralfate protective group), Ⅳ (aluminium hydroxide protective group), and Ⅴ (aldioxa protective group). The three protective groups were treated with sucralfate, aluminium hydroxide and aldioxa tablets respectively before gastric mucosal injury was induced. Then the ulcer index (UI), epithelial damage scoring (EDS) were measured, and the pathological changes on histological sections and ultrastructural sections of gastric mucosa were assessed under microscope or electron microscope. Results The data of group Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ obtained were as follow: ulcer index: 42.13±6.22, 3.13±1.46, 8.63±3.48, 18.00±6.16, 8.00±3.17, respectively; epithelial damage scoring: 3.67±0.49, 1.25±0.45, 1.41±0.51, 2.42±0.79, 1.50±0.52, respectively. In comparison with injury group, the ulcer index and epithelial damage scoring of gastric mucosa in aldioxa protective group were significantly decreased. Conclusions The results revealed that aldioxa tablets had a significant protection effect on rats with acute gastric mucosal injury induced by aspirin.

OBJECTIVE:To observe therapeutic efficacy and safety of lansoprazole triple therapy in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) associated gastric ulcer.METHODS:A total of 80 patients with Hp associated gastric ulcer were randomly divided into control group (40 cases) and combination group (40 cases).Control group was given Lansoprazole capsules 30 mg once in the morning or before bedtime,for 6 weeks.Combination group was given Lansoprazole capsules (same usage and dosage as control group)+Clarithromycin tablets 0.5 g,twice a day+Amoxicillin dispersible tablets 1 g,twice a day,for consecutive 1 week,and then given Lansoprazole capsules 30 mg once in the morning or before bedtime,for 5 weeks.Patients with amoxicillin allergy were switched to Metronidazole tablets 0.4 g,twice a day.Hp eradication rate of 2 groups were observed;recrudescence rate of Hp negative patients and the recurrence of effective patients were observed after 6,12 months of treatment.The leve1s of Th1 cytokines (IFN-γ,IL-2,IL-12) and Th2 cytokines (IL-4,IL-6,IL-10) were observed before and after treatment,and the occurrence of ADR was recorded.RESULTS:There was no statistical significance in total response rate of ulcer healing,Hp eradication rate or the incidence of ADR between 2 groups (P＞0.05).After 6 months of treatment,there was no statistical significance in recurrence rate between 2 groups (P＞0.05).The recurrence rate of combination group after 12 months of treatment and recrudescence rate of combination group after 6,12 months of treatment were significantly lower than those of control group,with statistical significance (P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in Th1 type cytokines and Th2 cytokines between 2 groups (P＞0.05).After 1 week and 6,12 months of treatment,the levels of INF-γ,IL-2,IL-12 and IL-6 in 2 groups were significantly lower than before;the levels of INF-γ,IL-2 and IL-12 in combination group were significantly lower than control group after 12 months of treatment.After 1 week and 6,12 months of treatment,the levels of IL-4 and IL-10 in 2 groups were significantly higher than before;those indexes of combination group were significantly higher than those of control group after 12 months of treatment,with statistical significance (P＜0.05);but there was no statistical significance in the level of IL-6 between 2 groups (P＞0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Lansoprazole triple therapy shows significant therapeutic efficacy for Hp associated gastric ulcer,improve cytokines level and reduces recurrence rate and recrudescence rate without increasing the incidence of ADR.

BACKGROUND:Healthy human umbilical cord jel y is a mucous connective tissue without vessels and has been used in eye plastic operation because of its elasticity and toughness. It contains lysozyme, placental globulin, hyaluronic acid enzyme, AMP antibody and complement, and also contains a lot of mesenchymal stem cells, so it is not prone to infection and rejection. OBJECTIVE:To observe the histocompatibility and histopathological changes of human umbilical cord jel y as a tarsal substitute transplanted for eyelid reconstruction in guinea pigs. METHODS:The mucous connective tissue of healthy neonate umbilical cord jel y was made into tissue blocks at even thickness. Models of tarsal defects were established in guinea pigs, and then the mucous connective tissue of healthy neonate umbilical cord jel y was implanted. Samples of implanted materials were col ected for histological examination at 1, 2, 3 weeks postoperation under light microscope. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:There were no obvious rejection, infection and eyelid deformation observed, the corneas of al the animals were clear, corneal epithelial shedding did not occur, and the eyelid could move normal y. One week after implantation, there was no infection and rejection on the conjunctiva and the incision of the eyelid, the eyelid could move normal y, and partial inflammatory cells were observed between the human umbilical cord jel y and the muscle of the eyelid with microscopy. Two weeks after implantation, there was no infection and rejection on the conjunctiva and the incision of the eyelid, the cornea was clear, the eyelid and eye could move normal y, and no symblepharon occurred;umbilical cord jel y showed the tendency of absorption, and the inflammatory cells were reduced at 2 weeks after implantation. Three weeks after implantation, the incision of the conjunctiva healed wel , the cornea was clear;there was no difference in the eyelid form and movement between the two eyes;the umbilical cord jel y was absorbed partial y, normal fibrous tissues formed and there were no inflammatory cells. With low immunogenicity, human umbilical cord jel y can guide the growth of new col agen and serve as an ideal tarsal substitute.
