Making dental impressions and models is a part of daily routine work for dental nurses in the orthodontic department in China. This paper analyzes the common problems encountered in the process of making dental impressions and models, and emphasizes the importance of quality control and supervision during this process. A method of combining real-time monitoring and periodic inspection based on nurse-doctor cooperation was put forward to ensure the quality of dental impressions and models. Firstly, the nurses should be well trained with the instruction of doctors before on duty; Secondly, the head nurse should be responsible for implementing real-time monitoring and periodic inspections to find the problems and take measures in time. Also, the doctors should check the dental impressions and models in time, especially for those models with special demands, and help the nurses to improve their skills constantly.

Objective To explore the imaging features of bone tumor of fibrous tissue origin.Methods 31 patients with bone tumor of fibrous tissue or igin confirmed by pathology were analyzed. All patients were examined by X-ray, of them, 6 by CT in the meantime.Results Non-ossifying fibroma(NOF n=14)occured commonly i n long bone,the imaging findings presented sacculated and expanded bone destruct ion which was encircled by sclerotic borders,bony septum could be observed iusid e the lesion.Ossifying fibroma(OF n=10)occured more in maxillofacial bone,there were circle or elliptical and expansive bone change,and most of them associated with local bone malformation.Depending on the ossified degree,the density of les ion,could be hyperdense,ground-glass opacity,cyst or mixed density,defined borde r,partly associated with sclerotic borders.Desmoplastic fibroma of bone(DF n=1) presented multiple patchy bony erosion at lateral of lower part of femur,and ext ending to articalar facies,ill-defined border,and soft tissue slightly swelling. Fibrosarcoma of bone(FS n=6) occured commonly in long bone,presened bitted-like or greater patchy osseous absorption with soft fissue mass,rarely periosteal rea ction and calcification.58.08% patients(18/31) were accurately diagnosed.The nat ure of 6 patients was undefined.Misdiagnosis was made in 7.Conclusion Most of NOF and OF are of specific imaging fin dings and can be accurately diagnosed before cperation.DF is of slight symptoms with invaded growth and is easily misdiagnosed.In the imaging features of FS are apparently different with various type and histological differentiation,it must be differentiated from other diseases.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of inferior vena cava filter placement guided by digital subtraction angiography(DSA) for the prevention of pulmonary embolism(PE) after deep vein thrombosis(DVT) of the lower extremities.Methods Under the guidance of DSA,inferior vena cava filter placement was performed in 14 cases of deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities from October 2003 to December 2004.Of the 14 cases,12 cases were given a simultaneous thrombectomy and 2 cases were treated conservatively.Results Filters were successfully placed in all the cases.The operation time was 85~115 min(mean,95 min).No complications were found during a follow-up of 1~14 months(mean,6 months).No recurrence of pulmonary embolism was seen included 5 patients who had survived previous pulmonary embolism attacks before the placement.Conclusions Inferior vena cava filter placement is a simple,safe,and effective method in the prevention of pulmonary embolism after deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of pedical conjunctival flap transposition on refractory corneal ulcer. Methods The data of 56 eyes of 56 patients with refractory corneal ulcer who underwent pedical conjuctival transposition in a tertiary eye unit in China from June 2005 to June 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 36 infective corneal ulcers, 9 keratoplasty graft ulcers, 4 traumatic ulcers, and 7 chemical burn ulcers. All patients were treated with focal debridement and pedical conjuctival flap transposition. Results Forty-seven out of 56 (83.9%) were cured after one surgery, and 5 (8.9%) had conjunctival flap retraction, among which 3 underwent the second surgery and 2 had the third surgery to completely heal. Four patients (7.2%) turned to lamellar keratoplasty because of fungal corneal ulcer relapse. Ulcer in 52 patients healed and the globe preserved. They had different levels of vision improvement. Conclusion Pedical conjunctival flap transposition is effective for refractory corneal ulcer.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the correlation between Interntion Normalized Ratio(INR)with concentration of warfarin enantiomer and dose density after cardiac valve replacement. METHODS:The plasma concentration of R-warfarin or S-warfarin, dose of unit weight and INR of 176 patients with anticoagulation after cardiac valve replacement in each time point were moni-tored,and the correlation of INR and warfarin plasma concentration or dose was observed. RESULTS:Doses of all patients in 24-288 h were significantly higher than 0 h,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001),the dose was fluctuated within a certain range after 96 h,and compared with 96 h,there were no significant differences(P>0.05). Average plasma concentration of R-warfarin or S-warfarin had consistent trend,plasma concentration of enantiomers was fluctuated within a certain range after 108 h,there were no significant differences(P>0.05). Compared with 0 h,there was no significant difference when INR was 12 h (P>0.05),it increased significantly in 36 h and had been increasing,then fluctuated within a certain range after 108 h,compared with 108 h,there were no significant differences(P>0.05). The correlation coefficient between INR and unit weight dose of warfa-rin in 60 h>36 h>12 h,it showed correlation(P<0.001). There was certain correlation between plasma concentration of warfarin and dose density in 12,36 and 60 h. CONCLUSIONS:The correlation between plasma concentration of warfarin and unit weight dose is stronger than the correlation between INR and unit weight dose. When combined with other coagulation,it may help to man-age warfarin dose.

Objective To observe the effect of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor carried by fibrin gel on the total number of peripheral white blood cells and neovascularization of ischemic muscle in rat hindlimb ischemia model.Methods Thirty male SD rats were subjected to right hindlimb ischemia and randomly divided into three groups:Gel + G-CSF,G-CSF,and PBS,respectively injected with Gel+G-CSF,G-CSF and PBS.WBCs was detected before and 1,3,5,7 days; At first week and fourth week after surgery,5 rats in each group were sacrificed,and after histological detections was performed,blood vessels density counted.Results The peak value of WBCs counts in group Gel + G-CSF (14.69 ± 1.11 × 109/L)appeared at postoperative day 1 was significantly lower than that in group G-CSF (21.00 ±2.26 × 109/L) at postoperative day 3.The capillary density in group Gel + G-CSF (686 ± 108/mm2) was significantly higher than that in group G-CSF (491 ± 110/mm2) and group PBS (252 ± 78/mm2),P ＜ 0.05.The α-SMA-positive blood vessel density in group Gel + G-CSF (6.1 ± 0.8/mm2) was significantly higher than that in group PBS (2.6 ± 1.3/mm2),P ＜ 0.05.In group Gel + G-CSF,there were many VEGF-positive cells infiltrating in ischemic limb.Conclusions Gel + G-CSF promotes neovascularization in ischemic muscle,and induced more modest WBCs counts increase than the treatment with G-CSF.

BACKGROUD: According to the record of Compendium of Herbology of herbs epimedium, Berberidaceae barrenwort genus, herbs epimedium has the effects of supplementing essence qi, consolidating bones and tendons, tonifying bruise of loin and strengthening cardiac ability, etc. In recent years, its clinicalapplications and pharmacological effects have been reported more frequently.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of herba epimedium extract on spontaneous activity and sleep function of mice under the intervention of suprathreshold and subthreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium with the method of jiggle-cage transducer.SETTING: Department of Mathematics and Physics, Laboratory of Analysis, Department of Pharmacology, Gannan Medical College.MATERIALS: A total of 110 healthy adult Kunming male mice of clean grade, with a body mass between 18 g and 22 g.METHODS: The experiment was conducted in Laboratory of Scientific Research Institute of Gannan Medical College from August to September 2004. ① The mice (n=30) were injected intraperitoneally with 1 000 g/L herbs epimediu extract(0.01 mL/g) and put into hanging cage 15 minutes later, after a 3-minute stabilization period, waveforms of spontaneous activity within 15 s after the administration of drug were recorded. ②The mice (n=40) were intraperitoneally injected with 1000 g/L herba epimediu extract(0.01 mL/g), 15 minutes later, injected intraperitone ally with 0.02 mL/g suprathreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium (2.5 g/L), and then observe the disappearance time of righting reflex of the mouse. ③ The mice (n=40) were injected intraperitoneally with 1 000 g/L herba epimediu extract(0.01 mL/g), 15 minutes later,intraperitoneally injected with 0.01mL/g subthreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium (0.25%),and then observe the disappearance time of righting reflex of the mouse.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Frequency of spontaneous activity of the mice; sleeping time of the mouse with suprathreshold and subthreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium.RESULTS: All the 110 mice entered result analysis. ① Herba epimedium extract (0.1 mL/10 g) could significantly inhibit the spontaneous activity of the mice, and the frequencies of large waves and moderate waves decreased obviously (7.4±6.5, 47.1±18.7; t=3.265, P ＜ 0.01). ② Herbs epimedium extract (0.01mL/10g) could shorten the time for falling asleep and prolong the sleeping time of the mouse with suprathreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium, and there was significant difference as compared with the control group [(3.9±2.8), (219.7±87.2); (5.8±2.9), (113.0±77.4) minutes; t=2.452, 2.501, P ＜ 0.05]. ③ Herba epimedium extract (0.01 mL/10 g)could significantly prolong the time for falling asleep and the sleeping time of the mouse with subthreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium, and there was significant difference as compared with the control group [(6.6±5.2),(60.3±71.7); 0, 0 minute; t=3.275, P ＜ 0.01]. Herba epimedium extract and pentobarbital sodium had synergistic effect of central inhibition.CONCLUSION: Herba epimedium extract has the effect of significant central inhibition, which could inhibit the spontaneous activity of mice ,remarkably shorten the time for falling asleep,and obviously prolong the sleeping time of the mouse with suprathreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium, prolong the time for falling asleep of the mouse with subthreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium and increase the amount of animals falling asleep.

Objective Pseudomonasaeruginosa resistance to quinolones and around symbiotic bacteria resistant plasmids each chromosome metastasis.Methods 481 samples was collected from the Seventh People’s Hospital of Shenzhen since January 2011 to December 2013,and it cultured Pseudomonasaeruginosa 31 cases,susceptibility testing confirmed 15 cases of quin-olone-resistant as the research obj ect,using plasmid transformation,pick up experiments confirmed the presence of the re-sistance plasmid,PCR amplification,gene sequence analysis,and gene sequences surrounding the symbiotic bacteria resistant plasmids as a same.Results The same gene sequence of plasmid was found between drug-resistant strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the surrounding symbiotic bacteria[χ2=1.207,P<0.01].Conclusion Resistance plasmids could be trans-ferred between different species of bacteria.

Objective: To explore risk factors for complicated cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in patients with refractory hypertension (RH).Methods: Clinical data of 536 RH patients, who were treated in our hospital from Jun 2010 to Jul 2015, were retrospectively analyzed.According to presence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases or not, patients were divided into complication group (n=217) and pure RH group (n=319).Results: Compared with pure RH group, there were significant rise in percentages of drinking and smoking, hypertension course, mean arterial pressure (MAP), mean systolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, serum uric acid (SUA), creatinine (Cr), total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and significant reductions in high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) mean diastolic blood pressure and mean heart rate in complication group, P<0.01 all.Multi-factor unconditional Logistic regression analysis indicated that hypertension course, SUA,MAP, Cr and LDL-C levels were independent risk factors for complicated cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in RH patients (OR=1.014~3.217, P<0.05 or <0.01).Conclusion: Hypertension course,MAP,Cr,SUA and LDL-C are independent risk factors for refractory hypertension.Enhancing their monitor, prevention and treatment are important to reduce incidence rates of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications in patients with refractory hypertension.

Objective By using computer tomography (CT) to evaluate the left common iliac vein (LCIV) minor diameter and stenosis in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) patients and normal population,and to explore the correlation between LCIV compression and left-sided DVT.Methods Measurement and calculation of LCIV minor diameter and stenosis were conducted in 19 right-sided DVT,60 left-sided DVT and 218 control subjects.Multiple factors regression analysis was used to study the correlation of LCIV minor diameter and stenosis with left-sided DVT.Results In control group,51.8％ had greater than 50％ compression of LCIV,and 24.3％ had greater than 70％ compression.LCIV diameter in women [(4.7 ± 2.7) mm] was significantly smaller than that of men [(6.6 ± 3.3) mm,P ＜ 0.05)].LCIV diameter in leftsided DVT [(2.4 ± 1.0) mm] was significantly smaller than that in control group [(5.4 ± 3.1) mm,P ＜0.001)] or right-sided DVT [(6.2 ± 1.8) mm,P ＜0.01].LCIV stenosis in left-sided DVT [(78 ±8) ％]was higher than that in control group [(49 ±25)％,P ＜0.01)] or right-sided DVT [(38 ±21)％,P ＜0.01)].The odds of left DVT increased by a factor of 2.69 for each millimeter decrease in LCIV diameter (P ＜ 0.001,95％ CI 1.91-3.77),and 2.78 for each ten percent increase in LCIV stenosis (P ＜ 0.001,95％ CI 1.95-3.96).With LCIV stenosis ＞75％,the risk of left DVT was associated with an 11.10-fold increase,and with LCIV diameter ＜ 2.5 mm,the risk was associated with a 13.57-fold increase.Conclusions LCIV compression was an independent risk factor for left-sided DVT.Patients with severe LCIV compression were at high risk for left-sided DVT.
